Chapter 683: Dumbledore has something to say

Views:

The train finally arrived at Hogsmeade Station.

The students who had just got off the train were immediately drenched by the cold rain outside and shivered all over.

What the hell!

Even December isn't this cold.

Albert, who had just got off the train, felt a chill coming towards him and he actually exhaled a long breath of hot air.

However, Albert had made preparations in advance. He had already put on a thick cloak and a raincoat on the outside, and raised his wand to hold up the umbrella to block the cold rain falling from above his head.

It's all the Dementors' fault!

It must be the activities of that group of guys that caused such a large-scale cold weather, otherwise how could the platform be frozen in such weather.

What the hell!

Do all wizards have such good physiques

After being caught in the rain like this, how come everyone didn’t catch a cold

"First years, come here!"

At one end of the platform, Hagrid was holding a lantern, waving to the panicked new students, ready to lead them to experience the traditional journey across the lake.

The remaining students huddled together, shivering, and crowded towards the carriage procession on the street under the rain. They couldn't wait to get on the carriage and head to the warm Hogwarts Castle.

Albert easily found Fred, George and Lee Jordan. All three of them had mastered the trick of using their wands to conjure up umbrellas. They were waiting for him at the platform, standing out among the shivering crowd.

"Oh my god, you're so well prepared."

Fred, George and Lee Jordan all stared at the fully armed Albert in amazement.

"I had long guessed that the Dementors would make the weather at Hogwarts into this state." Albert raised his hand and pointed to the sky above everyone's heads, motioning the three to look up.

In the rain, Dementors could be vaguely seen watching the train platform from above.

"Azkaban prison must be terrible!" George muttered.

"Keep up, don't fall behind."

After walking through the rough and muddy path, they finally found a carriage team on the street of Hogsmeade. The students hurried to the carriages they had chosen and got in quickly, as if they wanted to keep the rain and cold outside out of the carriages.

After the four people got on the bus, they couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. Even with umbrellas, some of their robes were soaked by the rain, not to mention those unlucky guys who were completely soaked. They were probably huddled in the corner of the car and shivering!

“It’s really terrible!”

Fred sniffed the musty, straw-like smell in the air and shuddered.

Albert took out his wand and evaporated the wet rain on the robes of the three people. He reminded them, "You'd better take the time to learn this. Some magic is very useful and can be used to invent similar magic props in the future. I think most students would be willing to spend some money to buy this thing. It often rains at the beginning of the school year."

"You're right. Other unlucky people who got wet in the rain will definitely want to buy it." Fred and George both thought that this thing should be a marketable product, and marketability means making money.

The carriage drove towards the castle. When passing the gate of Hogwarts School, Albert saw two tall cloaked Dementors standing on both sides of the gate guarding.

An inexplicable chill came over the carriage.

Fred, George and Lee Jordan seemed unaware and were pointing at the Dementors outside the carriage. Perhaps it was Albert sitting next to them that gave them courage.

The carriage drove along the long sloping driveway and finally stopped in front of the castle.

The four of them got off the carriage, held up their umbrellas and joined the crowd hurrying towards the stone steps.

After passing through the huge oak door, the chill in the air was dispelled by the torches on the wall.

Albert followed the crowd to the hall, his eyes sweeping over the candles suspended in the air. These magical candles were enchanted so that no wax would drip from their heads, otherwise it would have been a completely different scene.

Albert found a seat and sat down. When he looked up at the teacher's seat, he found something interesting. Their Potions professor, Snape, had been staring at the new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, with a twisted look of anger and hatred on his thin, grayish-yellow face.

"Look at the teaching desk." Albert said softly, "It seems that our Potions professor knows the new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor..."

"It's definitely not just because the position of Defense Against the Dark Arts professor was taken away." Fred looked a little gloating. Snape's unhappiness was the source of their happiness.

"I suspect they have a grudge," George added in a low voice.

"Perhaps, Snape's girlfriend was once stolen by the other party." Li Jordan guessed maliciously, "Otherwise, there would not be such deep hatred."

"Can Snape find a girlfriend?" Fred and George expressed doubt.

"Don't forget, Snape received Valentine's Day chocolates." Albert kindly reminded the three.

These words immediately shut up the three of them, as they were afraid that Snape would notice them if they laughed out loud.

"Ahem, where did Professor McGonagall go?" Fred looked at Professor Flitwick, who walked into the hall carrying an ancient hat and a three-legged stool, and quickly changed the subject.

"Probably... taking Harry to the hospital wing," George speculated, noting that there was an empty seat next to Ron and that Harry Potter was not currently in the Great Hall.

"Quiet, the Sorting Ceremony is about to begin."

Albert looked quietly at the Sorting Hat on the three-legged stool, recalling his own memories of being sorted.

Gryffindor.

There's nothing wrong with it.

Albert didn't actually care about the branch. He was a little hungry and regretted not having some snacks just now.

Most of the students in the hall probably had no patience for the sorting ceremony and wished they could just skip the damn ceremony and start enjoying the feast.

It's finally over.

After the Sorting ceremony, Albert breathed a sigh of relief, and then he heard a whisper behind him. He turned around with everyone and found that they were all looking at Harry, discussing the famous Harry Potter who fainted in front of the Dementors.

However, everyone soon had no time to discuss Harry Potter.

In the teachers' seats, the principal stood up and spoke.

"welcome!"

Dumbledore spread his arms as usual and said, "Welcome to Hogwarts in the new school year! Welcome to our seniors - before you are confused by the delicious meal, I have something very serious to make clear to all of you."

All the whispers disappeared and the auditorium suddenly became quiet.

Dumbledore rarely talked nonsense before the banquet began, and now that he spoke, it was obvious that he had something very important to say.

"The Dementors from Azkaban will be at Hogwarts to perform duties for the Ministry of Magic." Dumbledore cleared his throat and warned sternly, "During their stay, no one is allowed to leave the school without permission."

"Don't play tricks on Dementors, and don't try to deceive them with disguises, even with invisibility cloaks. They don't understand requests or excuses." Dumbledore glanced at Harry as he said this, and continued, "I hope that the prefects, as well as our new male and female head boys and girls, will ensure that no student comes into conflict with Dementors."

"Please don't give the Dementors an excuse to hurt you, okay?"

When Dumbledore mentioned the Student Union President, Percy couldn't help but straighten his chest, as if he wanted people to see the Student Union President badge on his chest clearly.

"I feel like Dumbledore is talking about you." George nudged Albert's ribs with his elbow and said with a smile, "He just looked this way."

"You're worrying too much." Albert said calmly.

"Someone threw a Patronus at a Dementor's face after a disagreement."

"I think you'd probably do the same thing if you encountered Dementors in Hogsmeade," Lee Jordan said with a look like this. "Just summon a Patronus to chase them away."

"Don't be silly. I dare say that the school will send professors to Hogsmeade this year to keep an eye on it and prevent anything from happening there." Albert did not hide his disgust for Dementors. He believed that no one would like those monsters.

"… Two new teachers have joined our team," Dumbledore continued. "The first is Professor Lupin, who has agreed to fill the vacant Defense Against the Dark Arts course."

"By the way, is there anyone who dares to apply for the position of Defense Against the Dark Arts professor?"

"Perhaps he needs this respectable job. Professor Lupin doesn't look very rich." Albert analyzed calmly, "If he has a good teaching level but can't find a job, something is very suspicious."

"What's questionable."

"identity."

"Identity? You think there's something wrong with Professor Lupin. Is he really Sirius Black in disguise?"

"It shouldn't be, otherwise Dumbledore would definitely notice something is wrong."

"… Rubeus Hagrid has come to fill the vacancy, and has agreed to take on the duties of teacher in addition to his duties as gamekeeper."

"Don't be happy too soon. Hagrid may know a lot about magical creatures, but he is definitely not a qualified professor." Albert looked at the three people who were applauding and coldly poured a basin of cold water on them.

"That biting book sure looks suspicious!" muttered Fred.

"Think about all those cute little ones Hagrid has raised. God knows what will appear in his class."

"Three-headed dog."

"Fire dragon."

"Acromantula."

"Oh my god, this is a bad idea," Fred muttered. "He's not going to bring an Acromantula into class, is he?"

He hated those giant spiders.

“I don’t think so.”

I don't think anyone would really bring an acromantula into the classroom.

"Luckily, after this year, we won't have to take Care of Magical Creatures anymore."

“… Now let’s eat!”

As soon as he finished speaking, the golden plates and goblets in front of them were suddenly filled with food and drinks, and the table even groaned under the heavy weight.

When Albert was cutting a piece of steak, Nick, who was almost frowning, floated over and said to Albert with a smile, "You really have become the prefect."

"Thanks."

"Professor McGonagall asked me to tell you that the password is: Good Luck."

"That's the benefit of being a prefect," Lee Jordan quipped.

"Shut up and eat your potatoes."

After everyone had eaten and drunk their fill, the hall gradually became noisier. Dumbledore said a few more words and then asked everyone to go back and rest.

"See you later." Albert said goodbye to Fred, George and Lee Jordan, walked to the end of the Gryffindor table and shouted to the table, "First-year students, please come this way!"

This time, Albert and Shanna did not take a shortcut. After walking out of the restaurant, they climbed the marble stairs and followed the same path that Percy took them that year.

Albert led the freshmen through a door hidden behind sliding panels and hanging curtains, and then climbed many stairs with heavy steps until they finally arrived at the portrait of the Fat Lady at the end of the corridor.

"Password?"

"Good luck."

"This is the Gryffindor common room." Albert introduced to the freshmen, "You will live here in the future."

"I'll leave the girls to you," he said to Shanna.

"Okay." Shanna said to the back, "Girls, follow me."

Albert led the boys to their dormitories. If Percy hadn't mentioned it to him on the train, he wouldn't have known where the freshman dormitories were.

After finally finishing his work, Albert dragged his tired steps back to the dormitory.

As soon as I opened the door, I saw a fat cat squatting on the table, staring at me. Its resentful eyes seemed to say: I'm hungry.
