Chapter 760: persuade

"When does the party start?"

"What party?" Albert asked puzzledly.

"Of course it's the Defense Association's meeting. You wouldn't have forgotten about it on purpose, would you?" Sana stopped and turned to stare at Albert. She almost put her head in front of him and asked Albert if he had forgotten about it on purpose.

“Others heard about this and are planning to come to the party,” Shannah said as they walked. “They’re all asking when you’re going to start?”

"Don't tell me that by others you mean a group of girls!" Albert asked tentatively.

Shanna chuckled and couldn't help laughing, "Isn't it good to be popular with the girls?"

“They can be very troublesome sometimes.”

"If the girls heard this, they would be so sad." Shanna looked at me with an expression that said, "You really don't know what's good for you."

"You certainly won't go around saying that."

"Well, of course there are some girls as well." Shanna quickened her pace and followed Albert, saying to herself, "Most of them are fifth-year students. The Defense Association is mainly to help everyone get better grades in the Defense Against the Dark Arts exam."

"That's good. But... I can't find a suitable meeting place for the time being." Albert said helplessly, "I'm not sure if Professor McGonagall would agree to let us use the empty classroom in the castle."

"If it doesn't work, what are you going to do?" Shanna frowned, trying to think about how to solve this problem.

Before she arrived at the door of the Defense Against the Dark Arts office, she still hadn't thought of a suitable solution.

"Can we do it in the auditorium?"

"Definitely not. We need enough space to practice magic." Albert shook his head and rejected it. "Believe me, if we practice magic in the hall, Professor McGonagall will definitely put me in detention."

"But isn't your Wizard Card Club in the auditorium?" Shanna asked in confusion.

"That's different."

"Okay, but we don't have much time. It's already March, and there are less than three months left." Sana suddenly understood why Albert was reluctant to become a member of the defense association. The gathering venue itself was a problem that was difficult to solve.

"Okay, don't worry, we can always find a way to solve the problem." Albert said soothingly.

"Well, I'll leave this to you."

After Albert said he would solve it, Sana guessed that Albert probably already had a backup plan.

This guy definitely didn't say it on purpose, it's really infuriating.

After taking a few deep breaths and readjusting her emotions, Shanna raised her hand and knocked on the door of the Defense Against the Dark Arts office.

"Mr. Anderson, Miss Wilson, is there anything wrong?" Lupin was a little surprised. He probably didn't expect someone to visit him at this time.

Albert found that Lupin's face was pale and his clothes were loose, and he really looked like he had just been sick.

"Professor, we heard you were sick." Sana held up a basket of desserts and flowers.

"Thank you, would you like to come in and sit for a while?"

Professor Lupin smiled kindly, not expecting a student to come visit him.

The three of them talked about what happened in the Defense Against the Dark Arts class yesterday. Lupin probably understood why the two came to visit him. They were obviously worried about O.W.L.'s Defense Against the Dark Arts exam. Or, it could be said that the Gryffindor students were worried about O.W.L.'s Defense Against the Dark Arts exam, so the two came to visit him.

"Don't worry, in the next few classes, I will specifically focus on teaching the key points of the Defense Against the Dark Arts course, so that you will have enough time to review this course during Easter." Lupin comforted him. He was not disappointed by this. Instead, he was very pleased. The Defense Against the Dark Arts course was indeed a mess.

"Ms. Wilson, do you have any other questions?" Lupin saw that Zannah seemed to be hesitant to speak.

"Professor Lupin, maybe it's rude of me to say this, but have you ever thought about resigning early or changing your position?" Sana hesitated for a moment, but still asked.

"Resign early? Why?" Professor Lupin was very surprised.

"This course is cursed. I think you should know this. Almost no professor can stay in this course for more than a year." Shanna said seriously, "Resigning early has proven to be the best way to get rid of the curse."

Professor Lupin was silent. He looked at the somewhat nervous Sana and the very calm Albert and smiled, "I know there is a curse, but I think it would be irresponsible to everyone to resign now."

"Perhaps you think this is ridiculous, but have you ever learned about the situations of your previous Defense Against the Dark Arts professors?"

Albert helped Lupin learn all about his predecessor.

"When we first entered school, Professor Broad taught us Defense Against the Dark Arts. He knew about the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor's curse right after he took office, and mentioned to us that he was planning to resign early in the first class of the semester." Albert recalled: "Professor Broad is the only professor known to be safe and sound after taking on the role of Defense Against the Dark Arts professor."

"Professor Rowena Smith, a second-year student, was a very good wizard. Later, he disappeared without any warning. Everyone has been looking for him everywhere, but his whereabouts are still unknown. Many people say that he is dead."

"The third year was Professor Quirinus Quirrell. It was said that he was possessed by a mysterious person on the back of his head. He died in the dungeons at the end of the semester and turned into a pile of ashes. Potter was the last witness."

"Professor Gilderoy Lockhart, a fourth-year student, is a liar. He has become a fool for no apparent reason. He is currently receiving treatment at St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries. It is said that he will have to spend the rest of his life under the care of others."

"I think the so-called curse is not a rumor, nor a coincidence. I never think that coincidences will last for decades." Albert's meaning is actually very clear.

"In fact, everyone sincerely hopes that you can stay and continue to be our Defense Against the Dark Arts professor." Shanna bit her lip and said nervously and excitedly, "But no one wants you to get into trouble. I'm sorry, even though this is very rude, there are some things I can't help..."

"No, please don't say that." Professor Lupin was not angry. He just smiled and said to the two of them: "I will think about it carefully. You are right. This curse is indeed a bit... scary."

"Do you think Professor Lupin will resign early?"

After leaving the Defense Against the Dark Arts office, Shanna asked Albert curiously.

"No." Albert shook his head.

"Why? He clearly knows how terrible the curse is, so isn't he worried at all that he might end up like his predecessors?" Sana was very confused. If it were her, she would have resigned long ago.

"Perhaps Professor Lupin has his own reasons for staying!"

Albert actually knew that what he said just now was useless, but he still said, "We have done everything we can do. What Professor Lupin will choose in the end is not something you and I can decide."

“What a pity.”

Shanna sighed, still looking a little depressed.

"I've already decided where we're going to meet." Albert changed the subject.

"Oh, where is it?"

"Keep it secret for now. Help me calculate how many people are planning to join our club. I'll let you know when the time comes."

"No problem." Shanna thought of something else and suggested, "It would be best to fix the time, Saturday or Sunday, when everyone is more free."

"Then let's do it from 8 to 9 on Saturday night." Albert thought for a moment and said, "It just so happens that the school library closes after 8 o'clock."
