Chapter 790: Brindle run fast

Views:

In order to avoid being discovered by others as they left the castle, Harry, Ron and Hermione were huddled under their invisibility cloaks, tiptoeing carefully through the Great Hall. When they walked down the stone steps in front of the gate, the sun was almost setting behind the Forbidden Forest.

Crookshanks had been repeatedly warned by Hermione to follow the three of them to Hagrid's hut obediently.

Standing in front of Hagrid's hut, Harry looked around cautiously, and after making sure that no one was around, he raised his hand and knocked on the door. The door quickly opened from the inside, and Hagrid stuck his head out of the door and looked around carefully, but could not find the visiting guest.

Finally, Hagrid noticed a cat under his feet. It just passed by his feet and began to sniff the surrounding air after entering the house.

A cat, knocking on the door

Hagrid thought his idea was ridiculous.

"It's us, Hagrid." Harry's voice suddenly came from the side, "Don't look, we are wearing the invisibility cloak."

"Why did you come just now? It's almost night."

Hagrid stepped back and waited for the three to enter the house. Then he said to Harry, who had taken off his invisibility cloak, "Didn't you say there was only one class in the afternoon? You should have come earlier."

"Sorry, Hagrid, I have a lot of classes in the afternoon." Hermione was also helpless. She had more classes than Harry and Ron, and it was impossible for her to skip classes just to help Hagrid catch mice.

"Is this your cat?" Hagrid looked at Crookshanks and, without saying anything about being late, he got up to make tea for the three of them and brought a plate of biscuits. "It looks more alert than Albert's cat. His cat is afraid of mice."

"Is there a cat that is afraid of mice?" Ron felt incredible.

"Yeah, Albert's cat is like that, lazy and very fat. It has trouble walking. People think it's a pig when they see it." Hagrid smiled and looked at Crookshanks who was searching for the smell of mice. "A good cat is one that can catch mice. But for Albert, it doesn't matter whether his cat catches mice or not."

Peter, who was hiding in the milk can in the cupboard and eavesdropping on their conversation, was mentally broken at this moment. He never thought that Hagrid would actually find a cat to catch mice.

What the hell is going on!

I thought he was just talking casually, but I didn't expect Hagrid to really find a cat to catch mice, and the cat he found was the one that kept chasing him.

The cat was very crazy and wouldn't let go of him, as if there was some deep hatred between them.

If Peter didn't know about Black's Animagus black dog, he would even suspect that the black cat was Black in disguise.

Now I just pray that the crazy cat will leave quickly after catching the mouse.

The conversation in the room was still going on, but they couldn't understand Peter's complicated mood.

"Hagrid, what happened last time?" Harry asked in a low voice.

Hagrid poured a cup of amber tea for each of the three, stared at Crookshanks who was looking for mice, and casually replied, "What's going on?"

"We were wearing invisibility cloaks and hiding nearby, and Buckbeak disappeared without any warning before he was executed." Ron asked in a low voice.

"I don't know, maybe it ran away on its own." Hagrid made a hushing gesture to Harry and the other two, indicating that they should stop discussing this matter.

Even though the incident had passed, Hagrid knew that it had to be kept completely secret. Otherwise, if someone found out one day, who knows what would happen.

Harry, Hermione and Ron all understood what Hagrid meant. Although they were confused and wanted to know the truth, they did not continue to ask about it. Looking at Hagrid's expression, it was obvious that he did not intend to reveal the news.

"Look, it's caught its first mouse." Hagrid said rudely to divert the attention of the three people.

Crookshanks had just crawled out from under Hagrid's bed with a dead mouse in his mouth.

"You're a great cat. You caught the mouse in such a short time." Hagrid picked up the dead mouse thrown away by Crookshanks from the ground and sighed softly.

Hermione's Crookshanks was really powerful. After a short while, he caught three mice in Hagrid's hut and knocked over a bottle in the process.

Peter, who was hiding in the milk can, was so scared that he huddled into a ball, fearing that he would be discovered by the crazy cat. That would make all his efforts go to waste and expose him to everyone.

Unfortunately, Peter couldn't escape Crookshanks's nose after all. After the mouse catcher Crookshanks killed the fourth mouse under the kitchen cabinet, he finally set his sights on the cupboard.

Seeing that Crookshanks had discovered the mouse again, Hermione reached out and grabbed the cat, lifting it onto Hagrid's cupboard.

Crookshanks immediately set his sights on the milk can where Peter was hiding.

Peter, hiding in the milk can, felt like he was going crazy.

Why is he so unlucky!

Damn it!

Damn it.

When Hermione took the milk jug from the cupboard and opened the lid, she was startled by what came out of it. Her fingers loosened and the milk jug fell to the ground, breaking into pieces.

Peter, who was hiding in the milk can, ran away immediately after the can broke, and tried his best to crawl under the cupboard to avoid becoming the victim of the mad cat.

"What's wrong, Hermione?"

The three of them were startled by Hermione's scream and turned their heads to see the milk can and a big rat that had fallen to the ground and shattered into pieces.

"Scabby, why are you here?" Ron stared in amazement at the mouse that quickly slipped under the cupboard.

Crookshanks missed his target, growled, and began to dig furiously under the cupboard with his front paws.

"Crookshanks, don't do this." Hermione grabbed Crookshanks' waist and lifted him up with great effort to put him somewhere else to prevent him from killing Scabbers.

"Is it really Scabbers?" Harry asked doubtfully. Wasn't Scabbers eaten by Crookshanks a while ago, and Ron and Hermione had a big fight over it

"No, I'm not mistaken." Ron lay on the ground, trying to catch the mouse hiding under the cabinet, but was bitten hard and his scream of pain echoed in the room.

After much effort, Ron finally caught the struggling mouse and held it up to the light for a closer look.

It was indeed Banban. It was thinner than before, and its fur had fallen out in large quantities, leaving patches of bare skin.

The mouse writhed in Ron's hands, seemingly trying desperately to get free.

"Scabbers, it's me, Ron." Ron asked Hermione to get the cat away. "With me here, nothing can hurt you!"

Ron tried to keep Scabbers in his pocket, but the rat went berserk, screaming, twisting and kicking madly, biting Ron's hand again, and when he let go in pain, the rat slipped out from between Ron's fingers, fell to the ground and tried desperately to escape.

Crookshanks broke free from Hermione's hand and ran after him, so fast that Harry and Hermione had no time to stop him.

As for Ron, when he saw Crookshanks going after Scabbers, he immediately chased after him.

"Hermione, let's go take a look too." Harry said, and hurried after Ron.

"Wait a minute Harry." Hermione vaguely felt that something was wrong and cast a pleading look at Hagrid.

"Oh my goodness! What on earth is going on?"

Hagrid looked at the three people who left in a hurry, and he was still confused. But he was worried about letting Harry, Hermione and Ron run around at night, so he prepared to follow them out, but it was already dark outside, so Hagrid turned back and got an oil lamp before chasing after them.
