Daily Life at Hogwarts

Chapter 8: grandfather

Two days later, the Anderson family took a car to Charles Street, where Albert's grandparents lived at No. 21 Charles Street.

The Anderson family would come back every year to visit the two elderly people. During the summer vacation, Albert would always stay here for a few days.

"Dad, I'm here to see you."

"Albert, come here, let me see!" Luke completely ignored his son, walked up and stared at his grandson, "Herb said that you received the letter from Hogwarts, that's great. If there's anything you want to buy, you can tell me..."

"Dad, I've already taken Albert to Diagon Alley in London to buy things." Herb looked at his father helplessly, cleared his throat and said, "I also brought you a gift."

"I'm not a child. What gift do I need?" Luke looked up at his son, took Albert's hand and said, "Come into the house first and tell me what magic you have learned."

"Luke has been excited for several days, like a little kid." Sansa said to Herbert and his wife, "He never told me about this before. I only found out about it a few days ago. I haven't seen you for a long time, Nia. Do you miss me?"

"My brother won't let me touch his wand. He always guards against me like a thief." Nia immediately reported the matter to her grandmother.

"Herb, keep an eye on Tom and don't let him run away." Daisy picked up the packages from the car and asked her husband to carry the cat cage to prevent this guy from running away as soon as he got out of the cage.

"Can Albert really perform magic?" Sansa found this very interesting. She didn't expect that her grandson was actually the legendary wizard.

"Yes, he can make the wand glow, and he practices secretly in his room every night." Nia held her grandmother's hand and complained about Albert's faults, "He also said that if I took the wand, I would definitely blow up the house.

"Mom, you don't know, that wand is really dangerous. Let me tell you..." Herbert followed the two of them with a cat cage, muttering about what he had seen in Diagon Alley.

"Albert believes that it is very dangerous to try magic recklessly." Daisy added. She had read the history of magic and knew some of what happened in the wizarding world. She had some understanding of the wizarding world.

"Okay Daisy, it's not as bad as you think."

"No, Mom. In fact, even in the wizarding world, children are not allowed to hold wands easily." Daisy completely stood on Albert's side. Their son was very reliable.

"How do you know?" Herb asked curiously.

"If you finish reading those books, you will know." Daisy looked at her husband reproachfully, "Can you pay more attention to Albert's affairs? He is our precious son."

"Don't worry, Albert has never needed us to worry since he was a child." Herb knew his son's character very well, and Albert had always been a worry-free person.

"Even so, you should be more careful." Daisy walked in with the package and closed the door behind her.

After Tom, who had been locked up all the way, was released from the cat cage, he started running around. Sansa and Daisy went to the kitchen to prepare desserts and tea, while Luke listened to his son and grandson talking about Diagon Alley, and the two of them would fill in the gaps that each other had missed.

Of course Luke knew that portraits of wizards moved, and he also knew something about Dumbledore.

He put the chocolate frog that Herb brought into a large glass bottle and placed it in the living room as a decoration.

"I even wrote a letter to Dumbledore, asking why I didn't receive an invitation." After so many years, Luke has let it go. "Because I have no spellcasting ability, I am a so-called Squib. When I was eleven years old, my family sent me away and gave me to an ordinary distant relative to raise."

"How could they do this?" Herb was puzzled and angry. He felt that his father's family had gone too far.

"A Squib is a shame to a wizard family." Luke said softly, "They will try their best to hide this secret, and even pretend that this person does not exist."

"Don't be sad, don't be sad." Nia comforted.

"After so many years, I have let it go and completely cut off contact with my family there." Luke picked up Nia and put her on his knees, saying with a smile, "But Albert becoming a wizard was a little beyond my expectations. When Herb didn't receive the invitation letter, I had completely given up."

During the chat, Albert showed them new magic, such as the Glowing Charm, the Repairing Charm, the Cleansing Charm, and the Unlocking Charm. These are the four types of magic he currently masters, and this is all thanks to his wizard bloodline that has been upgraded to level 2.

Although the technique was not very skilled, it was still quite surprising to see the cracked teacup being repaired slowly and the tea spilled on the table being wiped away without any warning.

"I want to learn magic too." Nia looked at her grandfather coquettishly and complained softly, "I want to learn magic too. Albert is too cunning."

Luke looked at his grandson and asked for his opinion. He knew that Albert had his own ideas and there were some things he would not make decisions on casually.

"You just have to do what I say." Albert looked at his sister. He was actually very curious about whether Nia had a talent for magic.

"I will, I promise." Nia nodded repeatedly like a chick pecking at rice.

"You agreed so quickly, but forget it. You weren't listening to what I said at all." Albert stared at his sister and said seriously.

"No way, I was listening carefully." Nia retorted quickly.

"Repeat after me first, fluorescent flashes."

"Luminescent flashes." Nia quickly followed, she knew it was a spell.

"Recite it a few more times slowly, and don't make any mistakes, otherwise no one knows what will happen." Albert instructed, "I'll lend you my wand later, but don't poke around with it, don't point it at people, don't chant spells randomly, and don't lose your temper even if you can't use magic."

"Got it." Nia said a little impatiently.

"What did I just say?" Albert asked suddenly.

"Don't poke around with the wand, don't..." Nia forgot what she said. She pouted and complained, "I'm not you. How can I remember so many things?"

"If you can't remember, I can't give you the wand." Albert said seriously.

"But... okay, say it again." Nia compromised.

The Anderson family laughed as they saw Albert eating Nia to death. Children always like to act naughty, and the same was true for Nia.

However, Albert had a way to deal with her mischief.

Only after Nia remembered his words did Albert give her his wand.

Nia took the wand excitedly, but only calmed down after being glared at by Albert. She obediently chanted the spell and tried to use the glow spell, but the spell did not succeed.

"Take a deep breath, concentrate, and try again." Albert put his hand on Nia's shoulder and said softly.

The Luminous Charm is one of the simplest spells, and if it can't be used, it may very well mean that Nia may not have the talent to become a wizard.

"Lumos." Nia tried a few more times, but none of them worked.

"You are anxious. Don't be anxious. The more anxious you are, the easier it is to fail." Albert touched his sister's hair and turned his head to look at his grandfather.

Luke shook his head at him, and Albert actually knew what this meant.

"Maybe I don't have the talent to be a wizard." Nia had a sad face and looked very sad.

"I don't know either." Albert comforted, "Maybe it's just because you're still young and concerned."

"Hate it, Albert always likes to lie. I must not have the talent to be a wizard." Nia threw down her wand and ran away.

Albert picked up his wand helplessly, looked in the direction Nia ran, and prepared to chase after her.

Children are trouble.

"I'll go find Nia." Luke stood up and walked towards his granddaughter. He understood how Nia felt now.
