Chapter 80: Mysterious Broom Cupboard

Views:

Filch, who hurried to the portrait of the Fat Lady with an oil lamp in his hand, suddenly smiled. The gatekeeper at the entrance to the Gryffindor common room had disappeared.

Not being able to enter the Gryffindor common room meant that students who were out at night had to continue to stay outside.

No one can slip away from my hands.

No one can do it!

"A-choo!" George sneezed again.

Fred in front stopped and looked at George speechlessly.

"Where are you going?" George rubbed his nose and came over to ask.

Fred moved his wand to the Marauder's Map, observing the locations of Snape and Filch. He involuntarily quickened his pace. He planned to circle the eighth floor, escaping Filch's search while avoiding Snape and Filch's cat.

However, Filch did not chase in the direction of the sound. Instead, he turned back and blocked a corner of the corridor, waiting for Snape to appear, intending to stop them from leaving through a nearby secret passage.

"When did that guy become smart!" Fred quickly stopped and walked back. When he saw that Filch was actually planning to block the corridor, his heart immediately sank.

Snape was almost on the eighth floor, and when he got there, they would be stuck there.

"Professor, they should still be on the eighth floor. I just heard a noise." Filch's tone was filled with excitement that he could not conceal. He said, "You go this way, and I'll go around the other side. They can't escape."

"It's over, we're blocked!" Fred looked desperate. Now, there was no longer enough room for the two to avoid Filch's pursuit.

However, when Fred and George hurriedly passed the tapestry of the troll beating Barnabas for a fool for the third time, they accidentally discovered that there was a door on the wall opposite the tapestry.

"How did it appear?" George asked in surprise, staring at the door in the wall.

They didn't know there was such a door here, and it wasn't marked on the Marauder's Map.

Fred gritted his teeth and said, "Never mind, let's hide inside first!"

The two opened the door and hid inside, only to find that behind the door was a dusty broom cupboard with a few old brooms inside.

When Filch and Snape surrounded the Room from both sides, the entrance to the Room of Requirement had already disappeared.

The two of them came up empty-handed.

"Where are the people?" Filch's face showed a moment of surprise. He just heard some voices over here, but why didn't he see anyone

Hiding

Or... ran away

"No, they can't have gone far. I just heard someone sneeze." The muscles on Filch's cheeks were twisted with anger.

He originally thought that he could stop those Gryffindor students who had played him around and teach them a severe lesson, but they still slipped through his fingers.

This huge sense of gap made Filch feel extremely depressed.

In the broom cupboard, Fred and George both covered each other's mouths with their hands, afraid that any sound would attract the attention of the two people outside.

There was no way out, Filch and Snape were standing outside the broom cupboard where they were hiding, and if they opened the door, something extremely terrible would happen.

As if someone was blessing this lucky pair, Snape and Filch finally left and searched for the twins elsewhere on the eighth floor.

Of course, the result was still nothing.

"Next time someone wanders around at night, report to me immediately," Snape said to Filch before leaving.

Hearing the footsteps gradually fading away, Fred and George couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief, but they had no intention of leaving immediately.

They didn't know how long they stayed in the broom cupboard. Only after they saw from the Marauder's Map that Snape and Filch had given up looking for them did they carefully push the door open and come out, fearing that they would make any loud noise and attract Filch's attention.

"It was a close call. We were almost caught by Filch. But what's going on with this broom cupboard?" George raised his wand, ready to check the broom cupboard where the two had just hidden, only to find that the door on the wall was gone.

"What's going on?" Fred was also confused. He reached out and knocked on the wall twice, then looked at the Marauder's Map at hand.

There are no hints on this.

"The Hogwarts castle still hides a lot of secrets. Even Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot, and Prongs don't know all of them!" George couldn't help but sigh, looking at his twin brother and asking, "By the way, how did that door appear just now?"

"I don't know!" Fred gave up temporarily after his research failed. "Forget it, let's go back first. I hope the Fat Lady has come back."

Fred and George both breathed a sigh of relief before returning to the Fat Lady's portrait.

The fat lady in her pajamas looked at the two of them and asked, "Where have you been?"

"Take a walk," George immediately gave the command. "You sing really well."

The portrait opened, and they immediately climbed into the common room, sank into the armchairs, looked at each other and couldn't help laughing.

"It was really thrilling tonight." George's excitement has not completely subsided.

"I think Filch must be mad." Fred laughed happily. To be honest, he really didn't like the administrator.

It was almost five o'clock when they returned to the dormitory. Although they felt very tired, they could not fall asleep at all until they were woken up in the morning.

"Ah..." Fred yawned loudly, not even bothering to open his eyes.

"When did you come back?" Albert put on his running clothes and opened the window to let the cool morning breeze blow into the room.

"About... around... five in the morning." Fred suppressed another yawn and asked sleepily, "What time is it now?"

"Seven-thirty in the morning."

Looking at the sleepy twin brothers, Albert shook his head and said, "I told you not to go out at night at this time. There are two herbal medicine classes in the greenhouse in the morning. Don't be late."

"I'm telling you..." George picked up his pillow and threw it at Fred, who fell back on the bed, looking very tired.

"You said that the Fat Lady was not at home at night, and you were almost caught by Filch. In the end, you hid in a broom cupboard on the eighth floor and escaped." Lee Jordan felt incredible when listening to George's story. He was very curious about how Fred and George escaped from Snape and Filch's pursuit

Or is George lying

"Later, when you were looking, the broom cabinet was gone?" Albert heard George talk about the location of the cabinet and immediately knew where they were talking about.

The House of Requests.

The two guys hid in the Room of Requirement and managed to escape.

After Fred and George leave the broom cupboard, they find it has disappeared without warning.

That day, Fred and George skipped the morning Herbology class and slept until the afternoon when they woke up naturally.
