Chapter 81: Sequelae

The consequences of the Weasley brothers' night out are beginning to show.

Filch seemed to be certain that the student who was out at night that night was from Gryffindor. Every time a Gryffindor student passed by him, Filch would stare at the passing Gryffindor student with wide eyes, as if he wanted to find out the guy who played a trick on him that night.

Filch's strange behavior left all the Gryffindor students puzzled.

Compared to Filch who had no clue, Snape had obviously found the culprit of that night's wandering.

During the Potions class on Friday, Albert could guarantee with a pat on his chest that he heard Snape mention the words "night outing" and "confinement" to the Weasley brothers.

It was obvious that Snape had confirmed that the students who had tricked both him and Filch that night were the twin brothers in front of him.

For this, Snape made up an excuse, deducted five points from Fred and George, and reset their potion scores for today to zero.

There was no way. Both of them could not resist "Snape's gaze" from behind. The potion they brewed to treat scabies was full of errors. Drinking a sip would probably poison people half to death.

Before the get out of class ended, in addition to the normal homework, Snape asked Fred and George to write an extra report on the preparation of a potion for treating scabies that was no less than five inches long, on the grounds that they had prepared it very poorly.

All the students in the classroom looked at the Weasley twins with sympathy, because the Weasley twins were not the only ones who were bad at mixing potions.

"How did Snape know that?" George was very puzzled. They were sure that Snape had confirmed that they were the students who were wandering around the castle that night.

Probably because there was no evidence and no one could be caught, Snape resorted to this deliberately disgusting method to punish the Weasley brothers for their night parade.

"Maybe, he can read minds." Albert said without hesitation: "There must be magic that can see through other people's minds. Snape might use it. Don't you think he seems to be able to see whether others are lying?"

Albert was of course well aware of how Snape saw through their thoughts, but he would not tell Fred and George directly, otherwise he would not be able to explain it to them at all.

"Can this really be done?" Li Jordan expressed his doubts.

"I don't know, but I think it's possible!" Albert reminded. "In the past few days, you should all be more restrained. I heard that Filch is patrolling the castle all day and night, and he wants to catch the students who are out at night and hang them on the ceiling to dry like salted fish.

"You will become a dried up salted fish." Fred rolled his eyes in annoyance, but still agreed with Albert's kind reminder and decided not to go on a night tour for the time being. Going against the wind would obviously be courting death, especially directly provoking Filch was definitely not a good thing.

However, the two were convinced that next time they went out for a night stroll, Filch would not be able to put them in such a miserable state as he did last time.

"By the way, when did you discover this secret passage?" Lee Jordan asked in surprise as he followed the Weasley twins through the secret passage.

"Of course we found it that night." Fred attributed the discovery of the secret passage to his last night tour.

Albert naturally knew the reason, but he would not reveal it. He just silently memorized the location of the secret passage.

On the way back to the common room, Fred suddenly remembered something and said to Albert with a serious face, "Can you lend us your last paper on the potion for treating scabies?"

"I remember Snape gave you an E (good)." Li Jordan did not forget the paper on the potion for treating scabies that Snape took away before class. He read it, graded it, and returned it to Albert before get out of class ended. He only gave an E. Apart from that, there was nothing written on the parchment.

However, when Snape returned the potion paper on treating scabies to Albert, he also warned him not to try it in the Potions class, or he would be put in detention.

Of course, Albert completely ignored Snape's threats and verbally assured him that he would not do anything.

"I heard that Snape never gave Gryffindor students an O (excellent) for their homework."

"That's normal. Snape is a master of potions. The potions we make must be terrible in his eyes." Albert didn't care at all. Before handing the parchment to George, he reminded him: "Don't copy it directly, otherwise I will be in trouble too."

Fred took the parchment handed over by Albert and said with a smile: "We will pay attention to it."

"By the way, what are the ratings?" Li Qiaodan suddenly asked.

"If the grades are acceptable, they will usually be O, E, or A, which correspond to excellent, good, and pass, respectively." Albert thought about it and gave Li Jordan a simple explanation, "If the grades are unacceptable, they will be P, D, or T..."

"If you get a T on your homework, you'd better be expelled from school." Fred interrupted Albert and said mysteriously.

"Why?" Li Qiaodan was even more confused.

"T is extremely bad."

"No, t stands for troll, which means your brain is about the same as a troll." George said seriously: "You know, Hogwarts does not accept troll students."

Albert couldn’t help but rolled his eyes and said, “By the way, when you go on a night tour that weekend, remember to call me.”

"Are you planning to go for a night tour too?" Li Qiaodan seemed to have heard something incredible.

"Yes, I'm going to take a look too. As you know, students are not allowed to enter the restricted book section." Albert said mysteriously, "If you want to borrow books from the restricted book section, you need to use special means."

"What book do you want to borrow?" Fred asked curiously.

"The Book of Spells by Miranda Goshawk."

"Why do I always feel that this title is familiar?" Fred murmured.

"Idiot, the book we use in Charms class is The Standard Book of Spells, Elementary, written by Miranda Goshawk." Lee Jordan said unhappily.

"Fred is really an idiot." George looked as if he knew it.

"Then you must be an idiot too. After all, we are twin brothers."

"Both of them are idiots." Li Jordan muttered, "Aren't these books the textbooks we use? How come they are in the restricted books section?"

"The Standard Spells series we are using now is actually a castrated version. There are seven books in this series, one for each semester. In fact, the original name of this book was The Book of Spells," Albert explained. "Some spells have been removed from the books we are using now. I once wrote to the owner of Flourish and Blotts Bookstore, but he told me that this book is no longer available because it was discontinued decades ago. The only version sold now is the revised version we are using now."
