Chapter 843: Defense Guide

"Good morning Sirius, where have you been?" Lupin poked his head out of the kitchen and looked at Sirius who had just entered the tent, and asked in confusion, "Why do you look unhappy?"

"I just went to see Ludo Bagman, and that guy only paid half a Galleon last night." Sirius didn't have any good feelings towards Bagman who was trying to default on his debt.

"When did you place a bet?" Lupin looked at Sirius in shock. He never expected that his old friend was secretly gambling. This was not a good thing.

"I thought you would care more about how much I won." Sirius pulled a chair and sat down, putting his legs on the table, not knowing what he was thinking.

"Well, how much did you win?" Lupin asked helplessly.

"About... a thousand Galleons," said Sirius.

"How much?" Lupin's eyes widened in disbelief.

"A thousand Galleons," Sirius repeated in shock.

"Don't gamble, quit while you're ahead!" Lupin didn't care about the black smoke slowly rising from the pot, and tried to persuade Sirius. He really couldn't understand why his old friend took the risk of gambling. What if he lost? How many Galleons should he bet to win a thousand Galleons

"Bagman didn't have enough Galleons to pay me, so he suggested that I continue betting." Sirius glanced at Lupin, who had a slightly gloomy face, and said casually: "I have agreed. Anyway, those Galleons are earned. It doesn't matter if I lose them all. What's more, I may not lose."

Lupin was silent. He knew he had no right to lecture Sirius. Finally, he said, "Don't be too greedy. Stop while you're ahead." Then he turned back to the kitchen to continue making breakfast.

"Lose, will I lose? No, I won't lose."

Sirius had a strange smile on his face, he didn't think he would lose, and the money was not all his, half of it belonged to Albert.

In fact, Sirius didn't like gambling either, but he met Albert yesterday and the two reached some agreements in private, under the pretext of: everyone could make money together.

Well, they did make a ton of money, and the hapless Bagman lost a ton of Galleons.

Sirius had no sympathy for Bagman, though.

Sirius might not have agreed to Albert if Ludo Bagman hadn't tried to lure him into making a bet.

Well, this was a lame excuse. In Sirius's opinion, why not make the Galleons if it was a sure win

I'm not an idiot.

Moreover, judging from Albert's tone, Ludo Bagman was not reliable, otherwise Albert would not have asked him to take back at least half of the Galleons after winning the bet.

"Good morning, Sirius." Harry appeared in the restaurant, holding back a yawn. He sniffed the burnt smell in the air and said in surprise, "It's rare to see Professor Lupin burn his food. By the way, what were you talking about just now?"

"Nothing, Harry." Sirius didn't want Harry to get into the habit of gambling, so he changed the subject and said, "Lupin and I have planned to start a Defense Against the Dark Arts magazine called "Defense Guide."

After a preliminary discussion with Lupin, Sirius decided to accept Albert's proposal and start a magazine related to Defense Against the Dark Arts.

Considering that Lupin once served as the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts, he has a natural advantage in the field of Defense Against the Dark Arts. Sirius has spent most of his life fighting against dark wizards, which is a profession he is relatively good at.

Working in a field that you are good at and like will make it easier for people to maintain their enthusiasm, invest more energy, and be more likely to succeed.

Of course, it is not easy to open a magazine shop. Neither Lupin nor Sirius has any experience in this area. Who will be the editor-in-chief

If you rashly open a store and enter a field that you are not familiar with, you may fail and it is not surprising that you may even lose a lot of money.

"Magazines like Witch Weekly and Transfiguration Today?" Hermione asked Sirius curiously.

"Well, if it's just the two of us, we'll publish an issue about every two weeks." Sirius nodded. "It will contain some content related to Defense Against the Dark Arts. Remus should be better at this. He used to be a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, and I can also help him think of solutions."

Harry and Hermione looked at each other.

To be honest, they were not very optimistic about Sirius starting a magazine or newspaper, let alone becoming the editor-in-chief.

"What does Professor Lupin think?" Hermione asked Professor Lupin who was busy in the kitchen.

"I think the probability of losing money is relatively high. Knowing about Defense Against the Dark Arts and starting a Defense Against the Dark Arts magazine or newspaper are two different things." Lupin was not as optimistic as Sirius. They both lacked rich management experience and were likely to mess things up.

"Speaking of opening a shop, I admire Albert the most. He started to support Fred and George in opening a shop very early on." Ron sat next to Harry, covering his yawn. "I don't know how many Galleons he has invested from the beginning to now, and he believes that their shop will be a big seller."

"Maybe he has already divined it." Harry said without hesitation, "Sirius, if you want to open a shop, you can ask Albert for divination."

"Harry, Divination also has its limits," Hermione disagreed with Harry's point of view.

"Are you really planning to start a weekly magazine?" Lupin brought the food from the kitchen and asked Black who was thinking seriously.

"I won't feel bad even if I lost all the Galleons I earned."

This was actually one of the reasons why Sirius agreed to help Albert. He needed to find an excuse to convince Remus to help start a weekly magazine.

Otherwise, he would never agree, and the unexpected money was the best excuse, with the slogan "I won't feel bad if I lose it all anyway."

"Losing money? I think you can ask Albert for help. As long as the price is right, he will definitely provide help." Ron suggested.

According to him, Fred and George had very clear ideas and plans for opening a store, and most of these were suggested by Albert. Moreover, Albert was good at writing articles for magazines and was obviously more clear than them about how to summarize the content of a magazine. If Albert could provide them with many constructive suggestions, he would definitely be able to provide them with many constructive suggestions.

However, how to convince Albert to help is actually a difficult thing. If you want Albert to help, you must naturally give him enough benefits. However, Albert obviously won't take that little bit of Galleon seriously, so how can you convince him

In the end, it was Ron's words that woke Sirius up. There was naturally a difference between his own business and other people's businesses. If Sirius could get Albert to join the business, the other party would naturally not sit idly by and watch them pull the store across stores.

Sirius's purpose was just to find a job for Lupin, and as long as he didn't lose money, Sirius would accept it.
