Chapter 935: Play to your strengths

After finishing the Apparition class, Albert followed the dejected students back to Hogwarts Castle.

"Why do I feel like there's something wrong with the way Snape looks at you?" George reminded in a low voice.

"Just ignore it. It won't help even if he pops his eyes out." Albert signaled them not to care. Ever since he declined Snape's "extra lessons", the Potions Professor's eyes on him became less friendly.

Well, it should be said that Snape has never been friendly to students outside of Slytherin House.

But he would not cause trouble for Albert because of that matter.

Of course, even if he wanted to cause trouble for Albert, it would probably be useless. Snape must have known this very well. There was no major conflict between the two parties, so there was no need to make a big deal out of it, so the matter naturally ended.

"You're the only one who doesn't take him seriously." Fred chuckled. "If someone else met him, they would be scared to death."

Lee Jordan secretly glanced at Snape not far away, shrugged and said, "There's nothing we can do about it."

"Be careful if someone overhears you, they might find an excuse to put you in solitary confinement."

"Don't tell me, it's really possible."

Fred, George and Lee Jordan stopped going to Potions class, and as long as they didn't joke around in front of Snape, Snape couldn't do anything to them.

As for the matter of "tutoring", it naturally came to nothing.

That afternoon, Albert knocked on Professor Flitwick's office door at the right time.

"Have a seat, Mr Anderson, anything to drink?" Professor Flitwick asked sharply.

"Black tea." Albert pulled a chair and sat opposite Professor Flitwick.

"You are confused. What fighting skills am I going to teach you? Right?" Professor Flitwick seemed to see through Albert's doubts and said to himself, "Everyone has their own characteristics in fighting. For example, Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall are better at using Transfiguration magic to deal with the enemy, while I am good at using spells. As for you, I think you have many advantages. Today we will discuss your advantages. Only by understanding your advantages and making better use of them can you quickly improve your strength."

"Advantage?" Albert asked back.

"I noticed that you are very good at using silent spells, which is a great advantage." Professor Flitwick handed the steaming hot tea to Albert. "Most wizards cannot use silent spells as freely as you do. I think you should be very clear about the advantages of mastering silent spells?"

"Others don't know what magic you can use." Albert added in his mind, "It's very suitable for sneak attacks on others."

Well, Albert kept doing this, using the Silencing Spell in conjunction with the Disillusionment Spell. He had no idea how many unlucky Hogwarts students he had brought down silently. It was really effective against rookies.

"You are right. Silent spells can give you the upper hand. In a magical confrontation, this is a great advantage. Especially those extraordinary wizards can do this and use it to seize the initiative, counterattack in advance, and interrupt the opponent's spell."

"How do you counter someone else's spell? Are there any special techniques?" Albert has never learned it. Although he can indeed cast spells to interrupt others' spells, his skills are just average.

"Write this down first. I'll teach you next time." Professor Flitwick continued, "I can see that your magical power is very strong. To be honest, your magical power is definitely among the best among all the Hogwarts students. This is also a big advantage for you. It means that certain spells can have a 'special effect' in your hands."

"A Stunning Spell? A Full Body Binding Spell?"

"Yes, the probability of a wizard who is knocked down by a Stunning Spell fainting directly is actually not very high. But for you who have strong magical powers, ordinary spells can have great power. You can easily knock others down or subdue them, making them unable to resist. No matter whether it is dark magic or ordinary spells, as long as you can defeat the enemy and make it lose its combat ability directly, it will be enough." Professor Flitwick believed that as long as Albert grew up completely, he would definitely become a wizard like Dumbledore.

Albert nodded noncommittally to indicate that he understood. In fact, he did just that and was very clear about it.

"If I meet a powerful wizard who can easily break all my spells or use some magic to block my spells, what should I do?" Albert asked, "You should know that some spells can be easily blocked. No matter how powerful or fast the spell is, it will be useless."

As he spoke, Albert raised his wand and swung it towards the teacup on the table. A translucent barrier covered the teacup on the table.

Ordinary spells simply cannot break through the protective barrier, but dark magic can, although the power of dark magic will greatly weaken the defensive magic.

"That's true... but I think with your strength, you should be able to do it with the Explosion Spell." Professor Flitwick thought for a moment and said, "There are many powerful dark magics in the restricted section of the library, but I think those dark magics are not as useful as many ordinary magics, because powerful dark magics have many restrictions on use, and if not used properly, they may hurt yourself."

"I think it's more important to use it smoothly, but there are some problems."

"I suggest that you develop in the direction of advanced magic in the future." Professor Flitwick said as he looked at the magic barrier covering the teacup.

This is actually a very advanced usage.

All of this shows that Albert is very good at spells.

Professor Flitwick suddenly understood why Albert wanted to learn combat skills from him.

However, he still intended to finish what he wanted to say and try his best to point out a way for him. Professor Flitwick did not want Albert to be too involved in dark magic in pursuit of power.

"Do you know how the wizards in the Ministry of Magic usually deal with those powerful dark wizards?"

"Numerical advantage?" Albert said. "I heard that they would gather together closely, form a dense formation, and rely on their numerical advantage to attack the enemy."

"Yes, if hit by a large number of Stunning Curses, not to mention Dark Wizards, even Dragons will fall down." Professor Flitwick nodded.

"Although this trick is very powerful, I don't think it will work well against powerful wizards." Albert said, "The intensive attack may be overwhelming, but it should not be effective against a powerful wizard like Dumbledore. After all, they can easily use the Shield Charm to bounce the spell back."

Even Albert could withstand the onslaught of Fred, George, and Lee Jordan.

Professor Flitwick: "..."

"Mr. Anderson, is your imaginary enemy a mysterious man?" Professor Flitwick asked tentatively.

"Yes, I think we should treat all enemies as mysterious people so that we won't get into trouble halfway." Albert said seriously.

Professor Flitwick fell into another brief silence.

"Perhaps, in a dozen years, when your experience and magical power have reached the peak of your life, you will be able to reach that level. But for you now, as long as you can reach my current level, you should be able to deal with most dark wizards." Professor Flitwick said meaningfully.

Albert knew all this, of course, and he didn't think of getting rich overnight, so he just listened quietly to Professor Flitwick continue.

Professor Flitwick probably wants him to understand his own strengths first so that he can better exert his power."

Albert was very clear about his own advantages, but it was actually quite interesting to hear other people talk about it. After all, everyone has different views and angles on things. Maybe he has some advantages that he doesn't know about, or Professor Flitwick has some special ideas.

"I heard you're pretty good at wandless magic." Professor Flitwick asked Albert.

“I’m not very good at it, but I can do it.” Albert raised his hand and pointed at the teacup, and the teacup soon floated up slowly.

"That's a big advantage." Professor Flitwick looked at the teacup in front of him and nodded. "Most wizards use wands to guide magic, which makes the effects of spells more accurate and effective. Transfiguration and spells are basically difficult to perform without a wand. Therefore, in the eyes of most wizards, they will be wary of your wand but not your other hand. So no one will expect you to have this, making your opponent defenseless, but when you use it, it's best to subdue your enemy in one go."

"I'll pay attention." Albert nodded.

Another point is that your age is your advantage. Most wizards will look down on you because of your age and identity. Having this cover is also an advantage for you.

In the eyes of Professor Flitwick, Albert's advantages are huge. As long as he knows how to use his advantages, most wizards who are not familiar with him will fail, and even he himself is no exception.

However, Albert felt that this advantage would be useless against the fake Moody. That guy had seen his strength and was not a fool. If he really wanted to kill him, he would definitely not take it lightly.

If he was the fake Moody, he would definitely hide secretly and then find an opportunity to use Avada Kedavra to take the person away.

"Okay, let's talk about the Dark Arts next." Professor Flitwick said in a low voice, "To be honest, Dumbledore doesn't like professors telling students these things, but if you really want to deal with the Dark Arts, you must have a certain understanding of them. How much do you know about the Dark Arts?"

"The poison spells, evil curses and curses in talismans belong to the category of 'dark spells'. Among the dark spells, the dark spells that are mainly used to hurt, control, or even kill the victim are called black magic. The strength of the black magic is usually related to the caster's magical power and his determination to kill people." Albert actually had some understanding of black magic, although he basically didn't know how to use it.

"That's mostly true. However, Dark Magic is a term," Professor Flitwick explained. "Dark Magic generally refers to spells and practices that can be used to harm others, from powerful Unforgivable Curses to brewing harmful or poisonous potions and breeding dark creatures. These practices are generally illegal in the wizarding world, and those who do so are known as Dark wizards."

"Of course, your understanding is correct. In order to make the dark magic powerful, it must be cruel. This also leads to the fact that wizards who practice the dark magic and use it frequently are evil. This is one of the reasons why Dumbledore does not like students to use the dark magic. But I have to remind you that when it comes to the dark magic, it must be treated separately."

"Under any circumstances, do not try to kill anyone. That is the most evil act. Killing people will make them lose respect for life. The cruelty and disregard for life of dark wizards is actually largely due to their frequent use of dark magic. As you said, it is related to their determination to kill people."

"Although I don't quite agree with what you said, you are right. Killing is one of the most evil acts. Killing will make people indifferent to life and become cruel." Albert nodded.

"Very good, it seems that at least we have reached a preliminary agreement on the dark arts."

"My advice to dealing with dark wizards is to knock them down and make them completely unable to resist, and then hand them over to the Ministry of Magic and throw them into Azkaban to spend the rest of their lives." Professor Flitwick continued: "You have a great advantage in this regard. With your powerful magical power, it is not difficult to subdue a person."

"Of course, I think there is no harm in learning some dark magic, as long as you don't abuse it. The Aurors of the Ministry of Magic sometimes use dark magic to subdue their enemies when they capture dark wizards, but there is one thing you need to remember, don't touch the Unforgivable Curses." Professor Flitwick warned.

"What kind of black magic do you think is more practical?" Albert asked.

"Explosive Spell. This spell has a very high upper and lower limit of power, and is also very flexible. It is very suitable for you to use." Professor Flitwick did not intend to teach Albert any black magic that was too dangerous.

Albert nodded to indicate that he knew how to use it.

"I will teach you how to use this spell when the time comes. Maybe it will give you some inspiration." Professor Flitwick decided to give Albert a test in the next class to see what level he has reached now.

"Is there anything else you want to learn?"

"I want to learn a spell that can protect against most black magic." Albert said bluntly, "The Shield Charm is not very useful, right? Although it can block most spells, it is much less effective against those evil black magic."

If possible, Albert actually wanted to learn more protective magic from Professor Flitwick. He felt that Dumbledore should know a lot, and he should take some time someday to see if he could learn something from the headmaster.

To be honest, Albert felt that the defensive magic he mastered was a bit monotonous, and there were very few similar protective magics in the restricted area.

"There are not many protective spells that can prevent dark magic, but I have a way to solve this problem. I will teach you how to do it when the time comes." Professor Flitwick also knows a lot of spells. "Next time, let's go to the Room of Requirement on the eighth floor and try it. Do you know that room

“I use it occasionally.”

"That's good. When we go there, remember to bring your wand. When you go in, remember that you will need a place to practice magic." Professor Flitwick and Albert agreed on a time and place to meet.
