Chen Qingzhi, the military supervisor of the underworld, who had just returned from the battle, sat alone in his mansion, recalling the scenes of the battle, and was filled with indignation. He was even more upset that the Heavenly Court actually looked down on the soldiers of the underworld. The underworld had originally had a chance to win, but the Heavenly Court seized the upper hand. It would have been fine if they had just gained the upper hand, but their attitude of looking down on others was really infuriating. He must find a way to avenge this arrow.
Chen Qingzhi was depressed and unhappy, and he didn't leave the house for a long time. After all, the military supervisor was a sinecure, but it was complicated by those who were fighting for power. However, power is also enviable. Once you have power, you can realize many of your wishes. Why not use it? Although power is good, it depends on whether the person in power has a sense of justice. If it is just for personal gain, it doesn't matter if you have no power. Chen Qingzhi is a person who has power but is righteous.
Chen Qingzhi was secretly planning his plan. At this moment, someone came to see him. Before the person who replied finished speaking, the person had already walked into the hall and greeted Chen Qingzhi loudly. Chen Qingzhi looked over and saw that the person was dressed like a Buddhist, wearing monk's robes, holding a staff, and had no hat on his bald head. He had a righteous, generous and magnanimous demeanor. This person was none other than Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.
Before he attained enlightenment, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva was originally a member of the royal family of Jinluo State, and his common name was Jin Qiaojue. He had a majestic appearance and great strength. He was kind-hearted, extremely intelligent, and had a deep faith in Buddhism. At the age of 24, he became a monk and traveled to famous mountains and rivers to comprehend the Dharma. When he arrived at Jiuhua Mountain, he saw that the scenery there was quiet, beautiful, and rarely visited, so he dug soil in the mountains for food, practiced Buddhism, and taught Buddhism to others. Later, because of his sincerity, he made a great vow that he would not become a Buddha until hell was empty. Because of his sincerity, the Buddha converted him to become a Buddha and unified the Three Treasures.
When Ksitigarbha became a Buddha, it was also the time when the Buddha Shakyamuni was about to pass away and the new Buddha had not yet been reincarnated. It was during this transitional period that the Buddha chose Ksitigarbha to teach the people to return to the Three Treasures during this transitional period, and to resist the invasion of the Wutian and other evil sects together with the Fighting Saint Buddha and other ordinary people, to reduce the atmosphere of the evil and the disturbance of the disciples, so as to prevent the decline of Buddhism. Therefore, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva often went in and out of heaven, human beings and the underworld to save those who had a trace of good thoughts.
When Chen Qingzhi saw Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva coming to visit him, he was confused as to why. Could it be that there were demons here that had not been saved? So he politely gave way and asked, "I don't know why Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva came here. I'm sorry for not welcoming you. But why did you come here? Is there something wrong here?"
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva was originally a person who visited everywhere in hell, so as to clearly see the good and evil of the practitioners and save them. Hearing Chen Qingzhi's sincere words, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva smiled and said, "Can't I visit you if there is nothing? It is because of something important that I have to come to your house to talk!"
Chen Qingzhi was shocked when he heard this and said, "What's the matter? Why bother the Bodhisattva to come here?"
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva said: "Mr. Chen has always acted decisively and cleverly, and he is elegant yet has the demeanor of a military commander. I have often secretly admired him, and today, after seeing him, I can see that he is indeed extraordinary!"
Chen Qingzhi had always been cautious in his actions and words. When he heard the Bodhisattva's words, he didn't know how to respond.
At this time, the Bodhisattva said, "I have heard about the military supervisor's departure from the mortal world a few days ago. I think the things done in the Heavenly Palace are really outrageous. I often go in and out of the Heavenly Palace, and there are only some vulgar people there. If it weren't for the mutual support of the Buddhas of Lingshan and the Three Pure Ones, I think it would have been occupied by the demons long ago."
The military supervisor was relieved of his depression after hearing what the Bodhisattva said. Putting aside his uneasy mind, Chen Qingzhi asked, "What happened in the Heavenly Palace is also infuriating, but it is useless to talk about it. Did the Bodhisattva come here just to say this?"
The Bodhisattva said, "That's not entirely true. Seeing that the military supervisor was unhappy, I said some happy words to let him talk freely and relieve his boredom. But recently, some strange things have happened, which makes people very angry!"
Chen Qingzhi asked: "Where did such a strange thing happen that made the Bodhisattva so surprised and angry?"
The Bodhisattva said: "It is strange that this happened in the Shaolin Temple of Zen Buddhism."
Chen Qingzhi was shocked when he heard this and asked in astonishment, "What could possibly make the Bodhisattva so anxious? What strange thing happened in Shaolin?"
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva said: "The people who were killed in Shaolin were all kind-hearted people who practiced Buddhism. For unknown reasons, they were killed. Because they had done nothing wrong, they came to the underworld and complained that the way of heaven was unfair and the underworld was incompetent. I have already found out the reason and saved them to prevent them from falling into the evil way. The reason was that they were secretly murdered. Now the murderer has not been found, and the world is in an uproar!"
Chen Qingzhi heard this and thought to himself, could this also be related to the secret revenge of those cultivators? Why can't we find out who is behind this? Can even the gods and Buddhas hide it? It's really surprising. No wonder Ksitigarbha came here? It turns out that he is of the same mind as me and even hates the Heavenly Court.
"Doesn't the Bodhisattva know whether it is true or not? He is so worried about nothing! Everything in the world is controlled by the Heavenly Dao, so don't make a fuss about it!" Chen Qingzhi echoed.
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva said, "It is because this matter is against the will of heaven that I came to tell you. If I tell others, I will be ridiculed! Although I know something about this matter, many things are difficult to reverse. It is not easy for gods and Buddhas to intervene. But now, perhaps the masters of the world have been alarmed, and two Taoists have come to Shaolin to secretly investigate the situation. Their cultivation is so high that it is really amazing."
Upon hearing this, Chen Qingzhi smiled slightly and said cheerfully, "Isn't that better? Good and evil will eventually be punished, and it will save the gods from some trouble. But I don't know who this person is and how he has such a high level of cultivation that even the Bodhisattva is a little surprised!?"
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva said: "One of these two is a little thin, but his cultivation is not low. There is also a young man with a majestic appearance, whose cultivation is really amazing and unpredictable. He is called Wu Yugang, do you know him?"
Upon hearing this, Chen Qingzhi smiled knowingly and said, "What the Bodhisattva said is very intriguing. The purpose of sending troops is closely related to this person, how could I not know about it! This person is upright and a rare talent. When we parted, he went to visit his friends, and now he has come to Shaolin Temple, which is also very exciting!" Chen Qingzhi talked about Wu Yuguang and the Bodhisattva with them.
It turned out that Wu Yugang and his brother had seen off Lü Dongbin and stood on the hill, discussing secretly. Where should they go now? Wuyazi also didn't know where to go. Looking into the distance, he found that there was a small town nestled among the mountains on the coast of the sea.
Wu Yugang and his partner walked quickly and entered a town. There was a teahouse on the roadside. They went in and sat down. When they asked, they found out that they were in Fujian. Lü Dongbin had led them here. They didn't think much about it. At this time, they heard a few people drinking tea nearby chatting. They were talking about Shaolin disciples who had died for no reason. They couldn't find out the reason. People said it was the work of the devil. It was really surprising. (To be continued)
