Floods raged across the Central Plains, and the waters overflowed and flowed everywhere. People suffered and had no way to survive. Dayu saw this and knew that it must be Gonggong's doing. So he used his magic to drive Gonggong away from the world and let him return to heaven to stop disturbing the people. Gonggong was captured by Dayu and had to pretend to beg for mercy. Because Gonggong was a person of sweet talk, his words were pleasing to people. Dayu softened his heart and let Gonggong, a man with a human face and a snake body, go.
After being released by Dayu, Gonggong was still angry and wanted to vent his anger. Dayu managed the floods in the Central Plains of China and was deeply loved by the people. It was difficult for Gonggong to attack Dayu. This made Gonggong very uneasy. At that time, Dayu had not yet been abdicated and became emperor. Later, during the reign of Shun, Gonggong colluded with Chiyou to disturb the world. Shun was deeply loved by the people, so how could he tolerate such things that destroyed people's livelihood!
Shun then assembled his army to hunt down Gonggong, the evil gods who disturbed the world. Emperor Shun led his army to chase Gonggong from the human world to the heaven, and from the heaven to the human world. How could Gonggong, the evil gods who were deeply hated by the people, resist this brave man with both virtue and talent! Therefore, he was killed and defeated. Gonggong's hatred for the human world had reached its peak at this time, so how could he beg for mercy! When he was defeated, he wanted to die with Emperor Shun, so he flew up and crashed into the divine pillar that supported the heaven and earth, Mount Buzhou.
This Buzhou Mountain is a sacred pillar in the southwest that supports the division of heaven and earth. When Gonggong hit Buzhou Mountain, it shook and broke off a section. It doesn't matter if Buzhou Mountain breaks. The heaven and earth were originally in one place, but they were clearly separated because of the support of the four sacred pillars. When Buzhou Mountain broke, a hole appeared in the southwest sky and it collapsed. The land in the southwest rose up due to the break of Buzhou Mountain, trying to merge with the sky.
From then on, water flowed from west to east. This can be seen from the fact that the terrain is high in the west and low in the east. This is also the reason why Nuwa repaired the sky. After the Buzhou Mountain broke, the stones that fell to the human world contained the spiritual energy of heaven and earth and had extremely high magic power. The rocks were stained with the blood and sweat of Gonggong when he died. These are innate divine objects with extremely high magic power. The upper part was a spherical seal button, and the lower part was a square seal body. It meant that the sky was round and the earth was square. There were plum blossom seal characters carved on the seal, and it was the Fantian Treasure Seal.
