Taishang Laojun looked up and saw that this person was none other than the monk Lin Pu who regarded himself as having a wife of plum blossom and son of crane.
Lin Pu lived in the mountains. Although he was actually a true hermit, he left a name in the world as a great hermit living in the city. This was a rare representative of the Taoist school that influenced the world and saved all living beings. However, Lin Pu also had some background.
Lin Pu dared to call himself the wife of plum and son of crane, and there was a reason for that. It turned out that Lin Pu was also a green bamboo standing on the crane's head and next to the plum forest in the back garden of the Jade Emperor and Queen Mother, next to the library.
One day, the green bamboo was joking with the plum blossom and the crane. It used the plum wife and crane child to tease the crane god and the plum god. Unexpectedly, the Queen Mother heard it and banished her to the mortal world to suffer.
Although this crime was not serious, it also angered the gods. Therefore, Qingzhu was reborn in the world into the Lin family, who did not change their nature. Although Qingzhu was extremely beautiful and talented after being influenced by the spiritual energy of heaven, his otherworldly character also attracted the favor of the emperor who thought that he could seek fame as a hermit.
However, Lin Pu's nature was hard to change, so he had to be an official. This was also due to the mystery of his nature. He had to live in a thatched cottage to earn his living, which was a punishment from heaven. The talkative Qingzhu suffered all the punishments in the human world and returned to heaven. The Queen Mother was still angry, so he was placed among the scattered immortals to avoid the Queen Mother's angry eyes.
The Green Bamboo God has such an origin, so he often appears beside Laojun.
Although Taishang Laojun was happy to see someone come forward to quell the unrest, he was alone and weak, which was not dignified. Moreover, Wu Yugang's cultivation was so high that Lin Pu could not compare with him.
Just as Taishang Laojun was pondering, an old man suddenly walked out from the side. He was less than six feet tall, thin and dry, with three wisps of goat beard, but his brows revealed great wit and he had an otherworldly air all over his body.
This extremely ugly old man was none other than Liu Ling, the hermit immortal known as one of the Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove.
Liu Ling is also a god who attained enlightenment through drinking. Although he lived a bohemian life, he is a perfect role model for Laozi and Zhuangzi's free and easy lifestyle.
Liu Ling was originally a servant of the Queen Mother. Because he was addicted to alcohol, he was demoted from heaven by the Queen Mother.
Liu Ling was the only one among the Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove who had achieved immortality. Think of the Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove. Ji Kang, in order to avoid the persecution of the Sima family in the Wei and Jin Dynasties, also lived in seclusion in the countryside and made friends with the seven hermits in the world, Shan Tao, Ruan Ji, Ruan Xian, Xiang Xiu, Wang Rong, and Liu Ling. They drank and sang in the bamboo forest to dispel the restlessness in their hearts. They regarded the metaphysics of Laozi and Zhuangzi as the supreme way to transcend the world and get rid of the shackles of the court. They were not bound by secular etiquette, transcended the world, shocked the world, and were free and at ease.
However, among the Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove, only Liu Ling was really drunk, unrestrained, and free and easy.
Although the Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove were known for their seclusion, most of them could not escape the secular affairs of being an official, and only Liu Ling never really took being an official seriously. Therefore, after these seven people entered the world as officials, Ji Kang's Guangling San also announced the end of the Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove.
Although Liu Ling served as a lieutenant in the army for a few days, he was not given a high position. However, Liu Ling did not take this to heart. After all, Liu Ling only cared about the good wine in the world, and only good wine was his greatest pursuit and hobby in his life.
In that chaotic world, Liu Ling tasted fine wine everywhere, and unknowingly passed the punishment period in heaven. In order to make this book boy Liu Ling return to heaven, the Queen Mother also racked her brains. This book boy was punished because of his alcoholism, and she had to use fine wine to make him return to heaven.
Therefore, the Queen Mother sent Du Kang to use magic to bring the servant Liu Ling back to heaven.
This Du Kang came to the world and opened a tavern. There was a couplet hanging at the door that read: "A tiger gets drunk in the mountains with one cup, a dragon sleeps in the sea with three cups" and the horizontal banner read: "Du Kang, the Good Wine".
Liu Ling passed by the tavern and was surprised. Who is so arrogant? I think I am the best drinker in the world, so I want to see what this wine tastes like. So I walked into the tavern.
The boss was Du Kang. Seeing Liu Ling asking for wine and food, he sincerely agreed. Unexpectedly, Liu Ling was also an expert in drinking. After three cups, she suddenly felt dizzy and put down the cup and rushed home. When she got home, she was drunk. His wife thought Liu Ling was drunk to death, and buried him in the wilderness three days later.
The Queen Mother calculated with her fingers and found that it was the time for the book boy to return. Du Kang also knew it, so he came down to the mortal world to visit him.
When he arrived at Liu Ling's home, Liu Ling's wife also said that she had passed away long ago. Du Kang, however, believed that Liu Ling was dead, so he went to Liu Ling's grave in the countryside to verify the truth.
When Liu Ling's grave was dug up, they saw that she was dark-haired and ruddy, but there was no sign of death. At this moment, Liu Ling stretched her waist, sat up, and said, "Du Kang, good wine!"
When everyone saw Liu Ling wake up, they believed Du Kang's words. Unexpectedly, Du Kang had already used magic and disappeared with Liu Ling in the colorful clouds. He also left a letter. When people came forward to see it, they saw that it said: Liu Ling was not an ordinary teacher, but a book boy of the Queen Mother. He was demoted to the lower world because of drinking, and now he has returned to the heaven after his crimes are fulfilled. People believed that Liu Ling had already become an immortal.
Liu Ling came to the heaven, but he couldn't change his love for wine, so he had to live among the immortals, leading a free life, but also very happy.
Seeing Liu Ling's help, the Taishang Laojun was also very happy. He said, "Catch that ignorant Wu Yugang for me!"
Liu Ling followed Lin Pu and flew out of the Three Pure Ones Holy Land and headed straight for the battlefield.
At this time, the battle between the Overlord Xiang Yu and Zhang Liang was also difficult to resolve. The Overlord Xiang Yu's spear and divine halberd were superb, and Zhang Liang's Dazhui was like a dragonfly skimming the water, following the flow. The two were also a match made in heaven.
Wu Yugang forced Fang Xuanling to retreat, and the sword in his hand was not willing to let him go. In the sword light, countless tiny silver needles that had long been formed followed closely behind, chasing Fang Xuanling, with a fierce force, but it was hard for gods and ghosts to defend against it.
Lin Pu and Liu Ling arrived just in time, and seeing the gods being beaten back by Wu Yugang and his men, they felt a surge of anger.
Liu Ling shouted, "My son, give me your life!" Then she used the divine object in her hand, which was overwhelming and hard to defend against. (To be continued)
