Deep Desire

Chapter 23: Come on me

Passing by a small town, Feng Si stopped the car, asked Lu Jingshen to wait in the car, and got out to buy cigarettes.

"It's the last one," he reminded Lu Jingshen, "I'll be back soon, stay here."

Lu Jingshen followed him with his gaze. Feng Si casually put his hands in his trouser pockets and walked into the tobacco shop on the street.

He seemed to know the owner of the tobacco shop. Lu Jingshen saw Feng Si chatting and laughing with someone. When he came out five minutes later, he not only had an extra pack of cigarettes in his hand, but also two bottles of mineral water.

After throwing a bottle to Lu Jingshen, Feng Si sat back in the car, unscrewed the cap of the mineral water bottle with one hand, and flexibly opened the cigarette box wrapper with the other hand.

"Do you want more cigarettes?" he asked with a smile to the person who had been staring at him.

Lu Jingshen: "Do you know anyone here?"

"I don't know him," Feng Si said nonchalantly, "I came here once two years ago. I was on a road trip with my friends. I passed by here and bought cigarettes in this tobacco shop. I couldn't make change at the time, so I bought a lottery ticket. I didn't take it with me, but gave it to the shop owner. He just told me that I won 100,000 Euros with that lottery ticket, so he always remembered me. He recognized me as soon as I walked in. He gave me the cigarettes and mineral water for free."

Lu Jingshen looked at him, seemingly unconvinced. Feng Si lit a cigarette and flicked the ash: "Really? Do you think I'm making up a story to tease you?"

"One hundred thousand euros... was given away?" Lu Jingshen's tone seemed incomprehensible.

"I didn't know I could win the prize when I bought it," Feng Si said nonchalantly, "It's only 100,000 Euros. Is this little money worth your heartache, Mr. Lu?"

"and."

He went on to say, "A person's luck is conserved. If you give away your windfall, maybe you can get some good luck in other places in return."

His words seemed to have a hidden meaning. Lu Jing thought about it, but couldn't guess what he was talking about. He was too lazy to ask any more questions, so he pointed the way again and asked Feng Si to continue driving forward.

Twenty minutes later, the car drove into a manor nestled among green mountains and clear waters.

Looking around, you can see large vineyards with workers moving around, busy with the final work of picking. Further ahead is an old-looking European-style castle, hidden at the foot of the mountain, and it is not easy to get a glimpse of its entirety.

When getting off the car, Feng Si looked around. It would be almost impossible to find this place without someone leading the way.

Lu Jingshen was explaining things to the manor steward who came out to greet them. After he left, Feng Si called him: "Alex, in which month did you come here for vacation every year?"

Lu Jingshen hesitated for a moment and said, "Early March."

He only has time to come here just after the Spring Festival every year, when the company has the least work. There are also fewer workers working here in March, unlike these two months, when the grape picking season arrives and the estate is full of people.

Feng Si was thinking about something else. When he passed by that small town two years ago, it was also early March.

That was perhaps the moment when he was closest to Lu Jingshen in these seven years.

It took him two more years and half the world to finally get there, a twenty-minute drive away.

If I don't have a little luck, I don't know how many more two years I will have to go.

"We seem to have come at the wrong time?" Feng Si said with a smile, "Will we delay other people's work?"
