After walking out of the psychological rehabilitation room, Lu Jingshen stopped in the shade of the garden. He wanted to light a cigarette, but he touched his body and remembered that he had finished the last one yesterday.
He sat down beside the flower bed somewhat tiredly. The experience of that year was replayed in the deep hypnosis just now. It still felt very difficult, and his back was covered with cold sweat.
I don’t know how long it will take for the effects of psychotherapy to truly manifest themselves.
After sitting quietly for a while, his mood gradually calmed down. He picked up his mobile phone and took a look. The WeChat interface was still stuck on the message he sent to Feng Si before entering.
Not knowing whether Feng Si didn’t see it or didn’t want to reply, Lu Jingshen let out a light breath, turned off the screen of his phone, and just gave up.
These past few days, Feng Si would occasionally reply to his messages and say a few random words to him. Perhaps he was not good at chatting with people in this way, so most of the things he said were meaningless, and sometimes the atmosphere would be inexplicably awkward.
This made Lu Jingshen feel very frustrated, but he was unwilling to give up just like that.
While I was stunned, the screen of the phone in my hand lit up again and a new message came in.
Feng Si: "Come out quickly after seeing the doctor. I'll be waiting for you at the exit of the hospital parking lot."
Lu Jingshen was stunned for a moment, then he came to his senses and immediately stood up. Without even having time to think about why Feng Si suddenly came back, he quickly walked towards the parking lot.
The car drove out of the parking lot. Lu Jingshen glanced over and saw Feng Si standing on the street.
He was still the same, in a grey jacket, overalls, and a cigarette in his hand.
Seeing Lu Jingshen's car coming out, Feng Si put out his cigarette and threw it into the trash can, then walked over and opened the passenger door.
He brought in a chill and a familiar scent of tobacco.
Lu Jingshen's heart was beating fast. He gripped the steering wheel tightly and turned to ask him, "Why are you here?"
He thought that the person who was far away abroad had suddenly returned, waited for him at the hospital entrance as if nothing had happened, and got into his car. For Lu Jingshen, everything was beyond his expectations and made him so surprised that he could hardly believe his eyes.
"We just arrived at noon," Feng Si said casually, "You probably haven't had dinner yet, let's go and eat first."
Seeing that Lu Jingshen was still in a daze, Feng Si smiled, pointed to the front, and signaled him: "Drive."
Lu Jingshen finally came back to his senses, withdrew his gaze somewhat awkwardly, and stepped on the accelerator again.
They chose a quiet restaurant with few people. During the dinner table, Lu Jingshen wanted to ask several questions, but was interrupted by Feng Si every time.
"Let's talk about it after we finish eating. I didn't eat much on the plane. Please let me fill my stomach first."
Lu Jingshen noticed the tiredness in his eyes and brows, so he swallowed the words that were about to come out of his mouth and calmed down.
After dinner, Feng Si took over the driving and took Lu Jingshen through the city streets where lights were gradually coming on. Finally, he parked the car at a deserted lake in the city and suggested that they go out for a walk.
"It's still early, let's go for a walk outside."
After saying that, Feng Si opened the car door and got out first, and Lu Jingshen followed him.
The lake reflected the night sky, with mottled spots of light scattered in between. Feeling the damp wind blowing across his face, Lu Jingshen gradually calmed down and finally asked, "Why did you come back?"
I thought Feng Si would say something nonchalant like "Can't I come back?" or "I can go wherever I want." But no, he even put away his usual smile and just said, "I found a job here."
