When Xia Yu walked out of the villa gate, the house was silent. The lights were on in the living room and porch, and there was a row of small stone lamps dimly illuminating both sides of the gravel path in the garden.

There was no one around, only the sound of his footsteps, neither light nor heavy, echoing in the garden.

Xia Yu wrapped his coat, walked out of the garden, turned left, and walked along a street several dozen meters long, leading to Rongli Square.

He only walked about twenty or thirty meters before he stopped.

Because at the end of this road, Lu Zhao stood there, his body straight like a thin bamboo. Except for his pale face, he almost blended into the night.

Xia Yu looked at him for a while before slowly walking over.

Under the tall tree, only a few dry leaves fell on the ground. He stood in front of Lu Zhao. Obviously he came here on impulse. He really looked into Lu Zhao's eyes, but he didn't know what to say.

The tip of his shoe stepped on a dead leaf, as if he was secretly stepping on the edge of Lu Zhao's shadow.

"What are you doing here?" he asked in a low voice. "Didn't I tell you not to come?"

Lu Zhao looked down at Xia Yu.

On a winter night, although Xia Yu was wrapped tightly in a coat, a section of her thin white neck was exposed, as slender and white as a swan.

Lu Zhao raised his hand, pressed the back of Xia Yu's neck, and held him in his arms.

"I want to see you."

He only said these three words and pressed his face against Xia Yu's. Xia Yu's cheeks were still a little warm, while his were just cold.

He had been busy at work all day, and was in a meeting in the afternoon that made him explode because something went wrong with a project. He had to call the project leaders out one by one for questioning. After the meeting, he drove at the highest speed limit in the city and finally arrived at Xia Yu's house in time.

But there is no need to tell Xia Yu any of this.

He hugged Xia Yu and could smell a sweet, creamy scent on Xia Yu's body, with a hint of light fruity fragrance.

This makes Xia Yu seem very warm in the bleak winter night, making people want to get closer.

"I just wanted to see you from a distance." Lu Zhao explained to Xia Yu.

He is not so bad as to come here specially to ruin Xia Yu's birthday.

He just wanted to take a look at his beloved.

But after he said this, he suddenly asked, "Can I kiss you?"

Xia Yu grabbed Lu Zhao's coat tightly.

His mind was still in a mess and he didn't understand why he ran out without even changing his slippers.

But he stared at Lu Zhao for a while, then nodded in a daze.

Lu Zhao kissed her.

It was a silent New Year's Eve. This area was not a commercial district, so there were no New Year's Eve activities and no young people passing by in festive attire. There was only a round moonlight, sprinkling on the ground like frost.

Xia Yu closed his eyes gently.

Not far away, all his family members were sleeping, but he was hiding in the shade of a tree, kissing the person he had sworn not to see again.

He had fantasized about such a scene when he was young.

When he was twenty years old, he loved to dream and would fantasize that Lu Zhao would fall in love with him. Perhaps his family did not agree, and Lu Zhao needed to be patient to get their approval.

But it didn’t matter, he would sneak out of the garden to date Lu Zhao, he would open the window on the balcony and smuggle Lu Zhao into his room, just like the forbidden lovers in the movie.
