Ember’s Gun

Chapter 157: Nightmare

Views:

Countless snowflakes fell from the sky, dancing in disorder, passing over the dilapidated buildings, passing the dilapidated clock tower in the center of the town, and finally fell on the girl's face, melting and leaving a shallow water stain.

It was hard to believe. Selyu was a little dazed. She returned here again, to the place deep in her memory.

The human brain will subconsciously protect itself and forget those unpleasant things, no matter how profound they are, it will be deliberately forgotten. Even when the will recalls it again, it will only sigh that it took so long for all this to happen.

But now, after so long, Seleu has returned, or rather, those forgotten things have come to find her.

The cold wind was surging in the alley. The wild dog looked at her from afar, exuding a weird and hateful ominous aura, but it did not attack rashly. Instead, it looked at Seleu quietly, as if it was watching some kind of drama. Its expression was so human-like, as if someone's will was hidden in that body.

Before Seleudo could think, a hand suddenly grabbed her hair and lifted her up.

"I finally found you."

The man said, smelling of alcohol under his heavy clothes.

"How much money did you beg for today? If it's not enough, you won't have dinner."

Simply dragging Seleu along the ground, the girl tried to scratch the back of his hand, but it had no effect at all.

His steps were unsteady and he looked drunk.

Seleu remembered all this, and then she became angry. She struggled hard, but the hand was as motionless as steel. Even when she had used up all her strength, she could not change anything.

"Lo... Lorenzo!"

Seleu shouted, as if hoping for something.

She didn't know what was going on or why she was here, but now it seemed that she could do nothing but call Lorenzo.

Seleu was full of anticipation. She believed that the witcher would come to save her, just like he did at the beginning, or like when Priest Lawrence came, he would always appear when the crisis came.

But it was useless. No one responded to her call in this long alley.

Then strange thoughts kept popping up in her mind, and even Seleu didn't understand why. She was actually thinking, what if Lorenzo was not there

What if the man named Lorenzo Holmes had never found him in the first place? What if he had taken someone else from Gaulnalori in the first place

A life that is off track, with terrible repercussions.

Seleu suddenly didn't dare to think further. Extreme fear surged from the bottom of her heart and eroded her.

The wild dog at the end of the alley was still there, staring quietly, reflecting the cold world in the scarlet.

Everything is so familiar, and then the memory becomes blurred.

She was about to forget something, and her memories began to collapse. Seleu tried her best to remember those memories that were about to be erased, but it was all in vain.

“Stop… Stop!”

An invisible force was clearing her memory, tearing up all the papers that contained records.

The last blank.

In intense pain, Selyu slowly loosened her struggling hands... She began to forget how she got here.
