"It's so nice to see you, Mr. Holmes!"
Seeing Lorenzo walking into the tavern, Hercule behind the bar cheered happily.
Because of the location of the tavern, there were generally not many customers here during the day. Lorenzo looked around and saw only a few customers, who looked drunk.
"It's rare that someone would actually be happy to see me."
Lorenzo simply sighed at Hercule's cheers. He felt that he was a moving trouble, a walking god of death who always brought disaster to those around him. But he never expected that he would be popular one day, although the guy in front of him was not a normal person either.
"To be precise, I am happy about the secret in your mind."
Hercule didn't give Lorenzo any illusions and spoke directly.
Although they had known each other for a short time, Lorenzo felt that he was used to Hercule's behavior. He sat aside and said to him.
“Start right here?”
What they wanted to communicate were those unknown secrets. Lorenzo always felt that conversations like these should be held in some dark corner rather than sitting here in the open.
"Of course, this is a great place, would you like something to drink?"
Hercule obviously didn't care that much and spoke directly.
Lorenzo glanced at the bottles and jars behind him, the liquids inside were floating in strange colors.
"Have you studied wine pairing seriously?"
"Probably... Just mix it randomly, as long as it doesn't kill people." Hercule said seriously.
“I actually quite like this process.”
Hercule opened the bottle caps skillfully and mixed the various colored liquids together, while he said with some regret.
"You should know that I'm looking for these secrets, but I've made a lot of efforts to prevent myself from being suddenly exposed to those people."
“But in this aimless pursuit, I also discovered a lot of interesting things.”
Lorenzo was stirring the cup with a spoon, just to pass the time.
"for example?"
"For example, alchemy," Hercule said, "is actually very popular, and even... close to reality."
Lorenzo stopped his meaningless stirring and raised his eyes slightly.
"Some charlatans always like to use it to deceive people, just like a gimmick, so there are very few real alchemy. In my long pursuit, I have found many of them. Some are fake, but there are always a few real ones." Hercule said.
“I’m not an alchemist, and I don’t know much about those secrets, but I found a lot of interesting things by analogy with these existing cases.”
Hercule said as he pushed the wine glass over. It was light blue and looked drinkable, but as he dropped some unknown liquid into it, the light blue ocean began to boil, tumbling rapidly, and turned blood red within a few seconds.
"A lot of basic alchemy has to do with chemistry, physics, and so on," Hercule said.
“That sounds interesting.”
Lorenzo is not an alchemist, nor does he understand alchemy. He is a demon hunter, responsible for killing enemies with weapons made from alchemy. It's that simple.
