Chapter 33: Undercurrent in the Underground Palace

The speeding bullet flew across a long distance, passed through the dark corridor, and pierced through the demon's body with a loud sound like a death knell. But this was not just the end. The rotating bullet was coated with Lorenzo's blood, which was like a fierce kerosene, exploding in the demon's body.

Blazing white fire burst out from the twisted body, as if it had a will of its own. The pure white flames tore at the demon's body, charring and carbonizing the smelly flesh and blood. The faint flames ignited all the blood and the flames intensified.

At the end of the darkness, Lorenzo seemed to be whispering something. He raised his shotgun, and every pull of the trigger was accompanied by a dazzling flash of fire.

"The secret blood has awakened by 3%, and is in a stable value range. The mental state is normal, and the silver binding bolt is still intact..."

With a gleam in his eyes, Lorenzo whispered something incomprehensible, shooting at the demon while walking quickly.

Just like a grand fireworks display, the demons wrapped in pure white made shrill sounds. That was probably the holy flame that could not be extinguished, vowing to burn all the evil to ashes.

"Eve! Stay away!"

Lorenzo roared, and Eve used all her strength to finally move away a little. Then the demon violently slammed the walls around it and came towards Lorenzo. Unlike the space where Eve was, this was a straight corridor. The madly running demon and Lorenzo were bound to collide with each other, but Lorenzo didn't seem to care at all.

The hideous figure came carrying white flames and clashed with the dark figure in an instant. A white light flashed, and Lorenzo slid under the demon at the last moment of the collision, while holding up his staff sword. The blood-stained blade was like a torch like the scorching sun, completely cutting open the soft abdomen, and then endless white flames gushed out from it and completely devoured the demon.

Lorenzo slowly climbed up. He hadn't fought with demons for many years and he suddenly felt much older. He didn't even look back at the wailing demon. The burning figure had lost its ability to move. It could only vomit blood and fall down weakly until it was completely burned to ashes by the white flames.

"Can you still walk?"

Lorenzo was a little surprised when he saw the scarred girl. He thought Eve would die at the hands of the demon. After all, this was the most normal ending for most people who came into contact with demons for the first time. But Eve was obviously a little different. In the end, the girl was not destroyed by the terrible pressure. Instead, she gained the courage to swing the sword.

"I might have broken a bone..."

Eve held back the pain and tears and climbed up with difficulty. She had no way out before, so she didn't think death was scary. But now that Eve survived, she felt a chill running through her heart.

The feeling of surviving a disaster is really complicated.

"What on earth is that?"

Lorenzo supported Eve and they walked into deeper darkness together. Although Eve did not say it explicitly, Lorenzo knew what she was asking.

"The forbidden technology of the old times... You have seen that the demons are faster than leopards and stronger than bears. Some of them even have the same intelligence as humans. Not to mention that they are extremely difficult to kill and have a demonic nature that can destroy the spirit."

Sometimes Lorenzo would find it ridiculous. Compared with them, demons were the most perfect creatures. He spoke casually, leaning on his cane and sword, alert to the darkness around him.
