Ember’s Gun

Chapter 406: Irene Adler

The warm light failed to rise from the end of the sea level, and the White Tide was overtaken by the storm. Heavy rain and thunder hovered over the sea.

It was clearly daytime, but everything in the sky and earth was still gray, and I felt as if I had returned to the old Dunling.

However, the people on the ship were not panicked. Music was playing in the dance hall and people were walking between restaurants with wine glasses in hand, celebrating the new day, as if no matter how the outside world changed, it could not stop the carnival on the ship.

Lorenzo had woken up at some point. He left Watson's [gap] and returned here again, on the White Tide.

I looked out the window at the ocean that was gradually boiling under the heavy rain.

"Where are you now, Watson?" asked Lorenzo.

"I'm right here."

The voice rang in his ears, and an invisible existence floated beside Lorenzo like a ghost. Lorenzo could not see her, but he could truly feel her presence.

"Do you know what to do next?"

Watson walked behind Lorenzo, and Lorenzo could feel a pair of cold hands touching his cheeks.

"In the final analysis, it doesn't matter whether Lawrence is really dead or not. If one Lawrence dies, there will always be another Lawrence."

Lorenzo recalled the pitch-black mask, and a scorching light was boiling in the deep darkness.

"I want to destroy all those who attempt to abuse the secret blood. I want to even destroy all traces of the secret blood in this world, and completely separate humans from darkness."

Lorenzo didn't know whether what he was doing was right or wrong. No one could tell him. He could only try it himself and bear the consequences himself.

Humans come into contact with darkness and are discovered by evil demons. If Lorenzo can build a wall to isolate everything, can it protect everyone

He is like a shepherd who builds a strong fence to protect the lambs from being devoured by wolves.

"Watson, where are you?"

Lorenzo asked again.

"I'm right here."

Watson repeated that she was a non-existent existence at the moment, without any entity, so Lorenzo could only feel her but could not see her. She thought Lorenzo was looking for her, but Lorenzo shook his head.

"Where is the entity that you are controlling now?"

Watson fell silent.

The entity of nothingness needs a carrier. There is a beacon left by Watson in Lorenzo's [Gap], so she can cross a long distance to Lorenzo's side, but she must go back eventually.

"Are you silent? Don't you want to tell me? Or are you doing something bad, something you don't want me to know?" Lorenzo continued to ask.

There was no answer. If Lorenzo could not still feel Watson's presence, everything he was doing now would be like a mentally ill person talking to himself.

Actually, it’s pretty much the same.

"I'm making a new attempt and I don't know what's going to happen next."

Watson finally spoke.

"A very risky attempt?"

Lorenzo asked. He knew very well that Watson's situation was far more dangerous than his own. She had gone deeper into the darkness than himself and had touched that [boundary].
