Chapter 429: Choice

At the end of the night, the lamplighters walked out of their warm rooms, strolled on the empty streets, and extinguished one burning flame after another.

The light did not fade as expected. On the contrary, after each flame was extinguished, it was replaced by a stronger light. At the end of the sea level, the scorching sun stretched out its tentacles and slowly enveloped every corner of the city. With its arrival, the entire city was gradually waking up.

Lorenzo glanced at the city in the morning light through the gap in the window. Although it was not as steamy as old Dunling, it had its own style. Many people lived in it, living for tomorrow.

The sunlight pierced the gloom and shone on the moss on the river bank, making it glow with a bright green color. People were busy at the dock, and countless ships docked and left accompanied by the melodious sound of whistles.

"How long are we going to stay like this?"

The curtains in the room were closed. Although it was early morning, it was still dark in there.

Lorenzo was sitting on the sofa in the middle, with his cello case on a small table in front of him, and inside the case were those extremely dangerous weapons.

"It's coming soon. Didn't you say so? The Orthodox Church will have a big move in the near future, and that is the Pope's enthronement. They won't let us wait too long."

Lorenzo pulled out a weapon from the briefcase. It was his cane sword. After being damaged several times, it was recast by a craftsman commissioned by Lorenzo, just like the Winchester.

Hercule, who was sitting nearby, was touching Poirot while watching Lorenzo repeating the same action countless times. The guy in front of him kept picking weapons, and it seemed that Lorenzo really attached great importance to the next action. After making a choice, he still picked up the cane sword.

"Like we said before? Assassinate the Pope and rescue Ivar at the same time?"

Hercule asked directly as they were alone in the living room.

"Well, there are too many variables in this operation. The two operations must be arranged together as much as possible, so that even if an accident occurs, I can arrive in time to remedy the situation."

As Lorenzo spoke, he drew out his staff sword, took off the wooden outer shell, and revealed a blade made of cypress iron inside, shining brightly.

Although there was no specific date for the action, as time went by, everyone couldn't help but become nervous. Even Eve went out early in the morning to check out the gas lamps, and she would be back soon.

Lorenzo put the staff sword aside. When he finally took action, he would inevitably need to sneak in. From Lorenzo's previous work experience, the staff sword was the least likely to be detected, so he decided to carry this weapon with him.

"Well, I hope the time can be staggered with the orchestra's performance. I really want to see the performance. After all, that big theater looks great."

Hercule walked around the Yega Theater for a few rounds and he quite liked the place.

"Do you really treat this as a trip?" Lorenzo asked.

"Don't be nervous, relax yourself."

Hercule picked up the water glass beside him and took a sip, then asked again.

"Have you decided to trust that woman?"

Lorenzo glanced at Irene's room and nodded, "She can't deceive me this time."
