The melodious sound of a whistle interrupted the conversation between Shrike and Blue Jade. Looking at the stunning profile, Shrike lowered his eyes and didn't know what he was thinking.
The woman in front of you is so mysterious. You think you understand her, but that is just a beautiful disguise, just like her code name Blue Emerald. The gorgeous kingfisher soaring in the forest cannot be caught by anyone. It is free, like the wind.
"It looks like our guests have arrived."
Shrike looked out the window, in the direction where the whistle came from.
"guest?"
Blue Jade has no idea who would visit this damn place. It is cold and dilapidated, and there are tons of weapons and soldiers. Even criminals would not want to touch this place.
"It's my good detective, Lorenzo Holmes. Kestrel reported in via radio earlier. He's also in the car."
Shrike said, looking back at the Blue Emerald.
"Is that the Lorenzo Holmes that I know of?" asked Blue Emerald.
Shrike nodded, confirming Blue Jade's words.
The thought of Detective Shrike gave him a headache. He didn't want to reveal his identity other than "gang boss". After all, Lorenzo was too smart, and these alone were enough for him to guess a lot.
The next mission is still so important. Lorenzo is a dangerous and uncontrollable person to Shrike. He is a sharp double-edged sword. If not used properly, he will cut himself as well.
"So what are you going to do with him next?"
Blue Emerald looked behind Shrike, in the direction where the Glory was coming from.
"I leave it to you. My suggestion is to catch him and knock him out immediately, then wrap him in a chain and throw him anywhere. Even if you can't kill him, you can at least torment him for a while."
The Shrike was well aware of how difficult it was to deal with Lorenzo. Ever since he learned the performance and sneaked up on the Shrike quietly, he had been extremely wary of Lorenzo.
"Why me?"
Blue Jade didn't understand.
"It's simple. I don't want to see that psychopath." Shrike said with disgust on his face.
"Well... Actually, I think you kind of have to meet him."
Looking out the window behind Shrike, Blue Jade raised his hand and pointed in the direction of the darkness.
The Shrike seemed to realize something and turned his head. Under the pitch-black night, a burning python was rushing along the railroad tracks. The blazing white flames were dragged by the strong wind and were extremely long, like a burning paintbrush depicting the earth.
What's even more spooky than all this is that the burning train is still blowing its whistle, like a jolly Thomas.
"Everyone move!"
As Shrike roared in the communication channel, all the soldiers on the abandoned platform began to move. As the Glory approached, the Geiger counter began to make a harsh sound. As the distance between the two continued to narrow, the sound became more and more violent and finally turned into a long scream.
…
"Looks like we're getting somewhere."
Looking at the tiny dots of light in the darkness, those were the electric lights on the soldiers' helmets. Hong Falcon was right, there was indeed a mysterious army here, and now they were ready to fight back.
"No... We have to go back!"
