Ember’s Gun

Chapter 7: The Garden Snake

Old Dunling is big, very big.

As the capital of Yngveg, Old Dunling has been expanding slowly throughout Yngveg's history, and this expansion reached its maximum speed when steam power emerged.

Its building area is astonishingly large, occupying the central part of Ingveg Island. However, the first negative effect of such a huge urban area is the huge transportation cost.

If a citizen from Dongcheng District wanted to go to work in a factory in Xicheng District, it would take him half a day just to walk. With the income of ordinary citizens, they could not afford a steam car, let alone raise a damn horse and ride it to work.

In order to solve this problem, the Institute of Mechanical Engineering started a new round of renovation of the old Dunling more than ten years ago. They opened up the underground tunnel and built a train that could cross the old Dunling. They called this thing a subway. It looks like a shrunken underground train, and the ground is covered with rails embedded in the ground, and steam trams called Iron Snakes run on them.

Such a transportation system was tested in Old Dunling and was expanded to the whole country after its success. In recent years, they have tried to add Zeppelin airships to this huge transportation system, and the sky will also have the footprints of the Ingwig people.

The Serpent of the Courtyard.

The mechanics of the Mechanical Institute named this transportation system after the giant python in Norse mythology. This beautiful and rich world is the atrium in the myth. At that time, everyone only needs to pay a low price to become a member of this earthly snake, and rely on machinery and steam to surround this increasingly smaller world.

Victoria General Hospital is also a famous station. The steam tram passes by here every ten minutes or so, and this time Lorenzo just happened to catch it.

"I'm sorry my friend!"

The car door opened and Lorenzo ran straight to the driver's seat carrying the extremely dangerous shotgun.

After expelling those innocent passengers, the driver was thrown off the steam tram without much resistance. Then the iron snake gradually accelerated and sped along the rails, breathing out steam.

The law-abiding citizens of Old Dunling had never seen such a scene before; even Press was a little confused.

This is Old Dunling, the heart of Ingwig. At all times, there are at least three Zeppelins patrolling and on standby in the sky. On them are fully armed air cavalry wearing red cloaks. They are the strong line of defense for the order and security of Old Dunling. When an emergency occurs, you can only see the behemoth covering the sky, and then under its shadow, the red-shirted soldiers will grab the zipline and drop from the sky, and then shoot you in the head.

First there was a fire and explosion in the steam pipe, then a gunfight and then a hijacking of a steam train. Although it is unclear what the situation is at the moment, it is inevitable that these troublemakers will be caught and imprisoned to death one by one.

This was considered a major event in Press's career. He belatedly picked up his gun and ran towards the steam tram, but then he saw a figure hanging behind the steam tram.

Press's heart immediately slowed down.

"This... is at least a third-class merit!"

Despite the roar of the wind in her ears, the girl remained indifferent and kept muttering to herself.
