Ember’s Gun

Chapter 713: The last journey

Views:

The remaining Templar Knights entrenched themselves on top of a bell tower. They blocked the way upwards, raised their guns, and continuously fired downwards, shooting down all the demons that tried to climb up the wall.

Everyone was afraid, everyone was terrified, they were exhausted and had little ammunition left.

Looking up, the whole of Florence was plunged into raging war, as if the end of the world had come. Apart from the wailing sounds, there was nothing left under the night sky.

"I… we're running low on ammo."

A Templar Knight shrank back and sat against the wall, holding the gun in his arms and trembling.

The other Templar Knight slowly stretched out his trembling hand and spread out his palm, revealing several bullets.

"Those monsters are bloodthirsty and greedy... They will tear us apart alive, dismember our bodies, and eat us bit by bit until not even a bone is left."

He stared at the bullet in his hand, his voice becoming hoarser and hoarser. In the end, he could no longer utter a word and could only stare blankly at the surface of the bullet. His distorted face was vaguely reflected on the smooth brass shell.

There was a clear sound coming from outside, as if something sharp penetrated the wall and squeezed the rubble, making a fine, teeth-grinding sound.

The sound of deep breathing lingered by my ears.

“Here they come.”

A Templar Knight reached out, took a bullet from the raised palm, loaded the gun into the chamber, and then put the muzzle against his chin.

Big drops of sweat mixed with dirty blood flowed down, tears overflowed from the corners of his eyes, and he mumbled some incomprehensible words.

He couldn't stand this kind of hell anymore. Rather than being devoured by demons, he would rather die on his own.

It was like a nightmare from which he could not wake up, and now all he had to do was pull the trigger to free himself from it.

Yes, facing darkness may require great courage, but if you just want to escape, all you need is a little force from your index finger.

Thinking this, he pulled the trigger.

A loud gunshot rang out, and the bullets hit the big bell, producing a loud and distant sound. The sound shocked several people and made them lose their minds.

At the critical moment, another Templar Knight pounced on him, stopped his action, and pulled him back from the brink of death. He rode on the suicide and slapped him hard.

"What the hell are you thinking!"

The Templar cursed the coward in front of him, while the coward curled up on the ground, trembling and crying. No matter how he was beaten, he did not react at all.

"Quiet!"

Someone shouted, and he lowered himself to speak to the others.

"Listen carefully!"

"What's wrong?"

Several people looked at him in confusion, and then their expressions froze.

They heard it.

It was an indescribable sound that they had never heard before. It was like some huge monster advancing at high speed, cutting through the heavy waves and cumulus clouds, and rushing towards them with lightning and thunder.

What kind of thing could produce such a sound? They couldn't figure it out. It was completely beyond their imagination.
