When I opened my eyes, I saw a familiar and reassuring ceiling. There were many new posters on it. Some were for newly opened restaurants, and some were for travel promotions. They were piled together in a mess. With sleepy eyes, they were stained by tears into large patches of color, like flowers in full bloom.
Lorenzo heard the noise coming from downstairs, but he didn't pay much attention to it and had no intention of getting up. Instead, he lazily lay on the bed, almost sinking into the softness of the bedding.
He wanted to sleep a little longer, but when he closed his eyes, darkness came over him and he couldn't fall asleep.
I'm a bit bored, so I might as well find someone to talk to like usual.
"magnificent… "
Lorenzo subconsciously wanted to call someone, but he paused halfway through saying the name, and after several seconds, he spoke slowly.
"Has it been that long?"
The dark fate has come to an end, and the nightmare has ended with it. This is the fact, but Lorenzo sometimes always feels an inexplicable fear, as if all this happened just yesterday, and the evil has crossed time, stretched out its claws towards him, and tried to crawl out of the grave.
Looking at his bedroom, everything was the same as before, but Lorenzo knew that changes had quietly taken place and nothing could go back to the way it was at the beginning.
He still remembered that when he was bored, he would lie on the bed and talk to Watson, check the posters on the ceiling, and think about which store to patronize this afternoon, or whether to go to the streets and get a few more posters to fill the damaged places, or go to the downtown area to beat up a few unlucky guys to kill time...
"ah… "
Lorenzo groaned meaninglessly and struggled to get up from the bed.
Every time he moved his body, he felt a sharp pain deep in his flesh. It was very torturous, but compared to when Lorenzo was first discharged from the hospital, his physical condition was undoubtedly much better.
Lorenzo still remembered Dean Abigail's warning that he was no longer a demon hunter and that the mortal body was very weak. She hoped that he would take good care of his body.
As the connection with darkness was severed, the secret blood was gradually losing its extraordinary power, and the world was gradually being corrected back to normal. As a result, Lorenzo's old injuries and hidden illnesses that had accumulated before began to hurt. Fortunately, the Black Mountain Hospital had superb medical skills and saved his life, but even so, Lorenzo still needed a long time to rest and recuperate.
Lorenzo only felt that the pace of life suddenly slowed down, but at least he was still alive.
Sitting at the table, Lorenzo opened his diary, and after writing today's date, he hesitated for a long time and began to write some nonsense.
"I think I will survive. It's hard, but I'm still trying. Trying to live an ordinary life as a mortal..."
The rustling sound of writing was heard in the silence, and Lorenzo tried hard to recall and write it down.
"It's another day of going to bed early and getting up early. Every day has become a little boring and mediocre, but I think this is not bad. At least there are no annoying troubles coming to my door..."
A sharp pain flashed through Lorenzo's mind, and his expression became ferocious for a moment, but soon relaxed.
"I feel that I am in pretty good condition. Apart from my physical decline, there is basically nothing abnormal. But Dean Abigail advised me not to let my guard down. I once had the certificate of sublimation. Fortunately, I did not abuse the power of sublimation, so I was not contaminated too much. But the important thing is that a part of me is still contaminated. I don't know if it will be as..."
