Pei Yi escorted Jiang Se towards his car, opened the door for her, and after she fastened her seat belt, he quickly got in the car:
"Besides, we left after we finished talking."
He leaned forward and asked her:
"Sese, give me a kiss."
She generously agreed to his request and kissed him on the face. He said coquettishly:
"One more."
"No more!" Jiang Se pushed his face, and he muttered: "You take on so many jobs all day long, and you ignore me!"
The snowflakes falling on his head were melted by the heater in the car and turned into water, wetting his long golden hair.
Jiang Se unbuckled her seat belt, leaned over, stretched out her hand to hook his face, and kissed him gently on the cheek again. Pei Yi was satisfied now. Seeing her fasten her seat belt again, he felt a little happy and a little shy:
"Sese, I have discussed the investment in Peking Events with Adan and the others. Huatou will withdraw its investment, and we will make up for the missing funds."
Pei Yi's tone was calm, as if he was just talking to Jiang Se about a topic that couldn't be more ordinary, but as soon as he finished speaking, Jiang Se was stunned.
He doesn't like being too busy. As he said, once he is busy, he will be neglected.
But he complained like a spoiled child, but at the same time he took action for his own affairs. The love in his eyes was unreserved, and Jiang Se understood his feelings.
He didn't like being left out, but he didn't like her feeling bad even more.
"Is this the reason you came to see Nie Dan and the others tonight?"
Jiang Se lowered her head and pretended to read a script. For some reason, she didn't dare to look into Pei Yi's eyes at this moment. His love was surging like a fire, much more intense than she had imagined. Sometimes Jiang Se didn't understand how a person could care about and like another person so much, care about her every move, every joy and anger, and be so cautious that it made her feel distressed.
"Actually, I can put it in myself. Ah Dan and the others are not young anymore, so they are just investing money for fun. If they lose, it doesn't matter. If they make money, they can use it as pocket money."
They will all have their own things to do in the future, and Pei Yi may still obey the family's arrangements in the future. He will not have much time to truly enjoy himself, so the brothers have been causing trouble, getting into trouble, and fighting in recent years, which is purely indulgence in advance.
Jiang Se obviously understood what was going on and stopped talking.
Soft music was playing in the car, and the scenery outside the car was rapidly receding. The floating snow fell on the car window and was quickly swept away by the wipers.
Jiang Se had not eaten dinner before he went to see Xia Chaoqun. They found a place to have dinner first, then went home and took a shower. Jiang Se looked at the time and saw that it was not yet ten o'clock, so he took out the script he had brought from Xia Chaoqun's house tonight and read it.
She didn't even open the two romantic art films. Pei Yi, wrapped in a bathrobe, lay beside her and watched them with her, looking like he didn't want to leave for the time being.
The writing style of this "Devil" is mature and the plot is well-connected. What surprised Jiang Se was that the script actually involved crime and suspense, and it was well written.
If Xia Chaoqun had not said in person that the screenwriter who wrote the script was just a newcomer, Jiang Se would probably have thought that it was the painstaking work of a famous screenwriter.
The story begins when Zhang Yuqin receives a call from her daughter Zhuzhu while she is working, and then moves on to when Zhang Yuqin discovers her daughter is missing.
The police believed that the child was abducted by human traffickers, but Zhang Yuqin gradually found out that her daughter Zhuzhu was murdered, and then found the "devil" who killed her daughter.
The second half of the script is almost entirely about the battle between Zhang Yuqin and the "devil", and in the end Zhang Yuqin takes action himself to kill the devil.
After reading the script, Jiang Se knew why Xia Chaoqun wanted to persuade him at that time.
The whole script is filled with a strong sense of depression and despair.
This script is much more difficult than I originally thought. It tells the story of a middle-aged woman with an unhappy marriage. She first loses her child, then discovers that the child has been murdered, and finally she has to contend with the brutal murderer. Every frame of the shot is a huge test for the actors.
In comparison, Jiang Se had no life experience as Zhang Yuqin at all, and this role was too difficult for her.
"Ayi, I want to go to the women's prison in the western suburbs of the city."
She turned her head, and Pei Yi asked without thinking:
"Are there any friends in there?"
"No." She stated her plan:
"Sister Chaoqun gave me three scripts and asked me to pick one. But I am not going to act in the first two romantic art films."
As soon as he heard the word "romantic art film", he frowned. The thought of Jiang Se having a love affair with someone else in the film, even if it was fake, made him feel a little jealous.
But when he heard her say that she was not going to take this type of film, he couldn't help but feel happy again, and his expression showed on his face, and he nodded hurriedly:
"Yeah, yeah, what Sese said makes sense."
"As for the other script, it's a crime-related one, and I'm afraid I can't handle it."
Before his rebirth, Jiang Se had no such person as Zhang Yuqin around him, and he had no experience of dealing with people like Zhang Yuqin in the story. However, after his rebirth, Jiang Se's mother Zhou Hui was a middle-aged woman, also poor and destitute. However, Zhang Yuqin and Zhou Hui in "The Devil" are completely different.
Zhou Hui is a woman who depends on her husband for existence. The feelings between her and Du Changqun have long been worn away by the trivialities of life, and they repeat the boring life day after day.
The real Zhou Hui is like a bird whose wings have been broken by Du Changqun. She is willing to stay trapped in the cage. Even if someone opens the cage, she will still worry about losing her imagined "comfortable and stable" life.
But Zhang Yuqin in "The Devil" is different. She knows very well that her marriage is like a stagnant pool of water. She puts all her hope and love on her daughter Zhuzhu, so once something happens to Zhuzhu, it will be a fatal blow to her.
When she learned that Zhuzhu was dead, she was desperate. This despair, with a lifeless feeling, was revealed in the title "Devil".
But in her despair, she still had an obsession, which was that she wanted revenge!
Judging from this turn in the script, the character of Zhang Yuqin has been sketched out in Jiang Se's mind. Although she has suffered setbacks and misfortunes, she must have a ruthlessness in her bones that no man has. This ruthlessness also makes it completely impossible for Zhou Hui to become a reference for Jiang Se.
Xia Chaoqun also said that the tone of this movie is very gloomy. Jiang Se couldn't think of such an example around him for a while, but there are such plots and actors in the movie. If you just imitate other people's acting skills, as Chang Yuhu said, it won't be like that, you just act like another actor. (To be continued)
