Evil As Humans

Chapter 8: Three points of heaven

The three of them stopped.

The blue vest was focused on the "Physical Fitness Laboratory". After all, this name looked the most harmless. Yin Ren understood. He took a few steps back without leaving a trace, pretending to be "I know nothing".

The red bonnet has slender eyebrows and narrow eyes. There is no blood on his face now, like an unpainted porcelain sculpture. She squeezed the exaggerated number of bracelets tightly, her hands trembled a little, and the beads rattled loudly.

Seeing his two companions "weak and helpless", the blue vest tried to adjust his breathing and showed a leader-like expression. Unfortunately, he didn't have time to give a speech because he was startled by a knock on the door.

Bang bang bang bang!

The person inside the door seemed to know they were outside, and he, she—or it—knocked hard on the door four times from the inside.

"Come in together." The voice behind the door was small and sharp, and it was impossible to tell whether it was a man or a woman.

The man in blue vest let out a breath and opened the door first.

There was no one behind the door.

"It's easier to say a ghost master. He's a psychic, can withstand evil spirits, and can command ghosts to do things. This profession is the most numerous."

Yin Ren was determined to get his two teammates back on track. He cleared his throat and asked, "What are these?"

Blue vest: "Ah, ah? What?"

"'Three-point talent' is to test what kind of job you are born to do. In fact, there are also professions such as 'ghost general', which are not good enough for us."

He fished out a string of wooden beads from his pocket and muttered to himself as he turned the beads over.

The man in blue vest probably wanted to delay the enemy, so he took a half step back and moved a little further away from the table.

Three trays were arranged in an equilateral triangle. One held a piece of red leather with a pattern on it. The leather was thin and soft, cut into squares, and paired with a pair of iron scissors; one held a pile of black bone fragments, with a few dead flies scattered among the bones; the last one held a gloomy wooden pen, which lay alone in the middle of the tray without any paper.

Practitioners thousands of years ago were not so particular, and everyone practiced randomly. From a cursory listening, the current classification is much more reasonable.

"A spirit craftsman makes spirit tools. He gives them to others and uses them himself. Do you play games? The kind that makes tools, which require a lot of skills."

“These are on the table.”

The man in the blue vest and the man in the red soft hat were not as calm as Yin Ren. They were still looking around cautiously.

Yin Ren nodded repeatedly after hearing this.

The blue vest opened his mouth and finally concentrated. But this time, the red cap spoke first.

The man in blue vest nodded solemnly and met Yin Ren's eyes full of curiosity.

The monitors above my head were beeping and countless red lights were flashing, making me feel uncomfortable from head to toe. The corner of the room was empty and there was no trace of the person knocking on the door.

"Everyone is familiar with corpse-teasing people. You've probably heard stories about corpse-driving. After cremation became popular, these people are almost gone. Now they mainly use animal bones, which is a bit like the necromancers in the game."

Above the room, there was a lot of noise. Every edge of the ceiling was filled with surveillance cameras, which were crowded together and slowly rotated. Yin Ren didn't know what they were used for, but seeing them twisting and turning in an awkward manner, he always thought of sparrows on the branches in winter.

"It's 'Three-part Heaven', a test used by the metaphysical school to divide jobs." Her lips turned pale, "But... but these are the real ones. The ones out there usually use substitutes, which are not so evil."

"He doesn't understand these things, so we can explain them to him. The three parts of heaven refer to the three basic directions of metaphysics - spirit craftsman, corpse trainer, and ghost master."

The things on the tray are more interesting.

The physical examination room was not big, and there were not many things in it. There was only a round table in the middle of the room, and three locust wood trays were placed in the middle of the table.

"Have you taken the test before?" he asked curiously.

"I've done the test before, but not so... formally. These days, only Shi An can come up with something so authentic." The blue vest smiled bitterly, "Why don't we go by the results? I'll try the Ghost Master, and my friend will try the Spirit Craftsman. Brother, you try the Corpse Servant first."

After that, he reluctantly walked towards the tray where the pens were placed. The red soft hat took a few deep breaths and picked up the red leather-rimmed scissors.

Yin Ren glanced at the broken bones and dead flies in front of him.

The broken bones gave off a strong smell of death, probably a specialty of some large tomb. The dead flies were quite fresh, they had been soaked in some kind of potion, and also carried an ominous smell. If someone with a predestined relationship touched them, they would probably be able to move around, or even move freely.

If Yin Ren wanted, he could make them fly all over the house.

But Blue Vest just said that there are few people working with corpses. Scarcity makes things valuable. He doesn't want to work like crazy, and he doesn't want to attract attention... He has slept in a pile of corpses for more than a thousand years, and he almost got pickled. Why bother

Yin Ren picked at the pile of bones and then quickly withdrew his hand, revealing an almost calm expression. The tray was completely silent, and the corpses showed no abnormalities.

The other two have much more to accomplish.

The man in the blue vest picked up the wooden pen with both hands, his complexion gradually turned iron blue, and a thick translucent murderous aura slowly emerged from his seven orifices. His expression was distorted, as if he was smiling but not smiling, and his whole body was making crackling sounds, as if something was competing for the right to use his body.

Although his posture was ugly, he managed to hold on. Yin Ren looked at him twice more and found that the blue vest was in good condition and had no damage at all.

The situation on the red cap side was much worse.

As soon as the scissors touched the red skin, the expression on her face disappeared.

The gray blade cut the skin, and red blood gushed out from the broken surface, dripping down her wrist, almost forming a line. The red cap tilted his head as if his neck was broken, his eyes bulged, and his teeth were clenched.

Yin Ren recognized that kind of skin.

That is the soft skin peeled off from the corpses of slugs. As long as it is stained with the flesh and blood of slugs, human skin will be contaminated. The constantly regenerated skin will seal the seven orifices of the person and deform them until the victim melts into a meat and skin dumpling.

Due to its nature, the skin of corpse snails is extremely difficult to handle. This skin should have been cleaned by a spirit craftsman, but it is still not something that ordinary people can touch.

The more she cut, the more her red cap trembled. Halfway through, she let out a choking whistle in her throat, and her hands trembled so much that she could hardly hold the scissors.

Yin Ren stared at her intently.

Finally, Red Floppy Hat struggled to cut the skin. Her face was covered in cold sweat, her eyelids were covered in a layer of flesh-colored glue, and her hands were bleeding from being stabbed by the scissors. Human blood mixed with the dirty blood of corpses and snails, and she looked like she had an extra pair of crimson gloves.

After releasing the scissors, she almost fell to the ground.

"It's time to change. I'll try to be a ghost exorcist." After panting for a long time, she said in a hoarse voice.

Yin Ren: "Come again? Do you want to take a break..." The man in the red soft hat smiled tiredly: "You have to try all three. People may not be suitable for only one direction... What, are you scared?"

"I'm not afraid, but is this job really safe?" Yin Ren crossed his arms. "The testing alone is so dangerous, how can I really do this job?"

"The test will only be conducted according to the most stringent standards." The man in the red cap whispered, "Strictness is a good thing. Security workers are notoriously expensive, and the risks are not small... If you fool around, if something goes wrong in the future, it might implicate others."

Yin Ren was silent for a moment, then sighed: "Please stretch out your hand."

Red Cap looked at him in confusion.

"Let me see if the injury is serious."

"Are you a doctor?" The man in the red soft hat spread out his hands obediently.

"Maybe. I have some impression of it."

Yin Ren lowered his head, his long hair falling over his shoulders. He did not touch her hands, but clasped his hands around his red soft hat.

According to the blue vest, this girl has a talent for making spiritual weapons. Yin Ren didn't know how good Shi An was at treating her. He only knew that the blood from the corpse had penetrated deep into the flesh and bones, and might have left a small root of disease.

Making spiritual weapons is a delicate job, and the craftsman's hands must not tremble at all.

Yin Ren held his breath and concentrated, gathering a gentle technique in his palm, which was as gentle as breathing. He sucked away most of the blood from the deep wound, and the rest was not worth worrying about.

"It's no big deal," he said. "Remember to deal with it early and don't push it."

"thank you."

The man in the red soft hat raised his hand and wiped the sweat off his face with his sleeve. The man in the blue vest also took a breath, and the three of them walked around the round table, each taking a step and exchanging positions.

Not long after being put down by the red soft hat, the corpse skin had returned to its original state. The dirty blood was still there, emitting a foul odor.

Yin Ren picked up the scissors and cut the leather with a snap—

No cutting.

The scissors that were sharp just now were now as sharp as if they were unsharpened, unable to make even the slightest cut.

But this time all three of them failed. The black bone pile had no reaction to the blue vest, and the red soft hat took several steps back as if he had received an electric shock as soon as his fingertips touched the wooden pen, and he didn't even pick it up.

After two rounds, each of the three had only one career left to test. Compared to the blue vest and red soft hat, which were guaranteed, Yin Ren's situation was particularly awkward.

The blue vest hesitated for a while, and finally said to comfort him: "Don't be discouraged. Since Shi An allowed an outsider like you to take the physical examination, you must have some talent... Come on, try the ghost master."

Yin Ren smiled at him, and he took another step forward, stopping in front of the tray containing the wooden pens.

The profession that suits me best at the moment is ghost exorcist.

There are many people in this profession who are not conspicuous and do not require much effort. All you have to do is be able to withstand the evil spirits of fierce ghosts. Asking whether you can withstand the evil spirits of fierce ghosts is as ridiculous as asking whether the sea is afraid of rain.

Yin Ren stretched out his hand without hesitation and grasped the wooden pen.

This wooden pen was older than he was, and was probably modified from a spirit writing pen from a thousand years ago. There were ten fierce ghosts in the pen. The moment Yin Ren touched the pen, they began to release their evil spirits towards him one by one.

The evil spirit entering the body was extremely cold. If a living person were here, he could only rely on his flesh to resist. Yin Ren closed his eyes. He did not immediately absorb the external evil spirit, but let it wander in his limbs.

It was as if countless ghost hands appeared in his flesh and blood, pulling and grabbing from the inside out. As the evil spirit increased evenly, his blood seemed to be mixed with ice spikes, and there was no part of his body that didn't hurt. Similar to a pharmacist weighing herbs, the fierce ghosts increased the amount a little bit, looking for the balance point of his "talent".

Unfortunately, this body is basically made of evil spirits. Although it hurts, Yin Ren will not be hurt at all, and it is impossible to seize it.

He even had some admiration for the fierce ghosts in his pen - the wild fierce ghosts were vicious, sinister and chaotic, while the fierce ghosts in his pen were well-trained, and he had reason to suspect that they were lining up in the pen to keep track of the time.

One, two, three...

Ignoring the torture-like pain, Yin Ren estimated the time and let go when he was about the same progress as Blue Vest. He didn't "fight to the limit" like Blue Vest, so his evaluation might be higher, but it wouldn't be much higher.

Thanks to his two teammates, he managed to get away with it.

Seeing Yin Ren's achievements, Blue Vest's expression lightened up a bit: "Haha, you see, bro, I told you you have talent!"

“Is this the end of the test?”

"Well, the test is done."

"Then who will come..." Yin Ren was about to ask who will fill in the form when he saw the wooden pen flying off.

The wooden pen was suspended in the air, scribbling wildly on the medical examination reports of the three people, almost piercing the paper. As it moved, the surveillance cameras around the ceiling twisted, and the sound of mechanical clicking was incessant.

Mubi first filled in the blue vest: [Ghost Master: Liang-; Spirit Craftsman: ×; Corpse Master: ×]

Next is the red soft hat watch: [Ghost Master: ×; Spirit Craftsman: Good; Corpse Master: ×]

Finally, it was Yin Ren's turn: [Ghost Master: Good; Spirit Craftsman: ×; Corpse Master: ×]

The strength of the three people was not much different, and they were all very weak. Yin Ren was very satisfied with this result.

"Get out of here." A sharp voice with a hint of disgust came from the wooden pen, "The first kid's hands are so sweaty, it's so disgusting!"

After the shrill voice finished speaking, a series of vague "yes, yes" came out from the wooden pen.

Blue vest: “…”

The blue vest pretended nothing happened: "It's almost done, only the compression test is left."

Red Cap nodded breathlessly, showing a look of relief. She wiped the blood off her hands carefully, fearing that the report would be too dirty.

Yin Ren paused slightly as he held the report. The black door stood quietly at the corner, just opposite the pressure test room, emitting a strong aura that could not be ignored. The deep black was like a vortex, constantly pulling his attention.

Can't these two people see it
