The mountains and forests were dim in the evening, and Gu Nan was sitting by the roadside, eating the two and a half steamed buns that the monk gave her. Scattered like stone powder.
This is definitely not a delicious meal, but Gu Nan still ate very quickly. She has been hungry for a while. Although she can't die of hunger, the feeling of being hungry is still very uncomfortable.
Probably watching Gu Nan eat something, the monk named Xuanzang also felt a little hungry, so he sat on the side of the road together, took the half steamed bun he left behind, broke open a piece and put it in his mouth chewing.
Chewing on the crumbled steamed buns in his mouth, Gu Nan thought about the name Xuanzang, he seemed to have heard it somewhere, but he couldn't remember who it was. After thinking about it, it might be some famous person in history.
If she used to think about it carefully, but now, she didn't think about it anymore, after all, she herself is already a person in history.
Without going to see the monk, Gu Nan asked while eating.
"Monk, where are you going?"
This place is remote, and if you walk a little further, you will be out of the Central Plains area, and it is in the deep mountains and old forests, so you can rarely see any pedestrians on such a road.
Hearing Gu Nan's question, Xuanzang swallowed the steamed buns that were actually hard to swallow, turned his head and looked in one direction, and said.
"west."
"Xiangxi?" Gu Nan was slightly surprised, Xiangxi was the way out of the customs, she asked casually.
"What are you going west for?"
Xuanzang thought for a while, or thought for a while, before he said slowly, "Go ask the Buddha's mind."
"Buddha?" Gu Nan read the word once, then shook his head: "Mysterious and mysterious things."
She doesn't believe this, and even if there is a Buddha in this world, the two of them should be about the same age.
These words can be regarded as a little disrespectful to Buddhism, Gu Nan thought that the monk Xuanzang would say something about himself because of this.
Unexpectedly, Xuanzang just said: "It's good."
Then he said with a smile: "The benefactor is right, this Buddha is indeed something mysterious and mysterious."
There are many similarities between the two schools of Buddhism and Taoism, and there is a saying in Taoism, which is called Xuan Zhi You Xuan, the door of all wonders.
What is the end of the mysterious and mysterious? Where is the door of the door of all wonders
Buddhism and Taoism are all pursuing these things, but they can't get what they want.
What Gu Nan said is so mysterious, it just expresses what I want in Buddhism, and it also just expresses what Xuanzang asked.
He just didn't understand what Xuan Zhi You Xuan was, that's why he wanted to go west.
After the two finished eating, Xuanzang bowed to Gu Nan to say goodbye.
But Gu Nan said to him: "The way out of the customs is not easy. I ate two and a half steamed buns from you, otherwise I will escort you out of the customs. I will treat you as a favor."
Xuanzang was stunned for a moment, then recovered, and rejected Gu Nan in a gentle voice.
"It's a long way to the west, and there are many dangers and obstacles. It's better for Xuanzang to go by himself, and don't bother the benefactor."
"You don't believe me?"
Gu Nan could also guess what Xuanzang was thinking, no matter what he looked like, he didn't look like someone who could escort others.
Looking around, Gu Nan helped his bamboo hat and raised his head.
Then, in front of Xuanzang's eyes, he jumped up, his body flew like a bird, and jumped onto the treetops. With a light tiptoe, he stepped on the tip of a leaf on the branch and stood still.
She stood straight on a leaf, but the branches and leaves did not bend at all, but moved slightly with the wind, making a rustling sound.
Even Xuanzang, who was in such a calm state of mind, was stunned when he saw the scene in front of him.
The next moment, Gu Nan jumped down from the tree, like a feather, slowly fell, and stood in front of Xuanzang in the mountain path.
"Now you trust me?" Gu Nan asked.
But Xuanzang still looked at her in a daze. He couldn't understand what was happening before him, and he had never seen anyone who could walk on air.
It took him a long time to come up with an explanation that he could understand, and he looked at Gu Nan seriously and asked.
"Almsgiver, are you the one sent by the Bodhisattva to help Xuanzang?"
After a while of silence, Gu Nan sighed, picked up Wuge from his waist, and tapped Xuanzang on the forehead.
"Snapped!"
With a muffled sound, Xuanzang took a step back while clutching his red forehead, and asked in puzzlement, "Benefactor, why did you hit me?"
Gu Nan rolled her eyes: "I thought you were stupid when you recited scriptures, so I just wanted to see if I could wake you up."
······
Gu Nan accompanied Xuanzang on the road, the Zen stick in his hand was clanking all the way, Gu Nan felt it was a bit disturbing, but Xuanzang said it was to alert himself, he should listen sincerely. Probably because Gu Nan's heart is not enough, he can't listen to it.
It was getting late, and when they went down the mountain, it was already under the stars and the moon. They couldn't make it at night, so they could only sleep at the bottom of the mountain overnight.
While searching for branches to light the fire, Xuanzang met a giant python, which could indeed be called a giant python in terms of size. Compared to the pythons Gu Nan had seen over the years, this one was considered particularly large.
A body as long as several people was entrenched on the tree, a waist as thick as a bucket moved slowly, a pair of light yellow snake eyes stared at Xuanzang firmly.
Xuanzang took a step back, and the boa constrictor had already pounced on it, and when its thick body moved, it was so fast that no one had time to react. It was almost pulled into a black line, and suddenly flew through the air, and opened its mouth to Xuanzang, revealing its sharp teeth.
"Puff!" There was a sound of a sharp knife piercing the flesh, and a thin white light flashed across.
A few drops of blood splashed on the corner of Xuanzang's clothes, the python's body stopped, and the huge snake's head fell to the ground, and it was severed cleanly. After half a breath, with a deep sound, the body of the boa constrictor also fell from the tree.
Gu Nan flicked Wuge in his hand, put it back into the scabbard, and glanced at Xuanzang.
"Are you OK."
But Xuanzang was surprisingly calm, as if he wasn't the one who experienced life and death just now. He just looked at the boa constrictor, lowered his head, stood upright in front of his body and whispered.
"Good."
Shanzai means good to ordinary people, but in the mouth of monks, it means redemption after sin. Gu Nan knows this. There were monks among her old friends, and they often talked to her about Buddhism.
In the evening, the two sat by the fire, Xuanzang looked at Gu Nan as if thinking.
Gu Nan was uncomfortable being watched by him, so he asked, "What are you always looking at me for?"
Only then did Xuanzang say: "I saw the benefactor kill the big snake today, and he did it neatly. However, the benefactor often kills animals?"
After hearing his words, Gu Nan turned around, looked at the bonfire in front of him, threw a piece of wood into the bonfire, and said.
"Yeah, I have killed many lives, even, many people."
When ordinary people hear that the people around them have killed many people, they will probably become wary, keep a distance, and try not to have contact with this person.
But Xuanzang just nodded knowingly, and still said in a soft voice: "Good, did the benefactor ever think about putting down the butcher knife?"
Gu Nan smiled, probably all monks are similar, they always like to persuade others, and the monks she knew back then also liked to persuade her.
Facing the bonfire, she didn't answer Xuanzang's question, but looked at Xuanzang and asked a question.
"You Buddhists always say to put down the butcher's knife. Monk, let me ask you, if I put down the butcher's knife and escape, what will happen to the person I killed? Who will bear the blame for this murder?"
Xuanzang was taken aback for a moment, thought for a while, and said with a wry smile.
"Benefactor, let me think again."
