Chapter 178: Heart of the Earth

Port of Ampro.

It has been a while since the sea serpent Visca attacked the port. The surging waves and roaring sea serpents have long become a thing of the past, but it is not so easy for the port to recover.

The dilapidated lighthouse on the coast, the wreckage of the ship floating on the sea, the damaged merchant ship, the old tavern almost submerged by sea sand, kelp and marine garbage... Everything is showing the tragedy of the past, and even the air seems to be bleak.

At the dock, civilians with sad expressions were holding long wooden poles and bending over to salvage the fragments of the sampan. On the ruins of the old tavern, the owner was sighing as he cleaned up the sea sand and algae. On the beach farther away, a few elderly people had built a simple altar at some point and were secretly offering sacrifices to the Lord of the Sea, praying and repenting...

At some point the sunset appeared on the horizon, and the gorgeous color dyed half of the sky red.

Under the cover of the sunset, everything seemed to be stained with a layer of blood-red light, just like the oil paintings displayed in the window, the colors were rich, but even more shocking.

Suddenly.

A burst of rapid horse hooves broke the silence of the port.

The civilians at the dock subconsciously turned their heads to look over, only to see a group of knights in armor and bright clothes galloping towards them on horseback. The rumbling sound of their horses' hooves made the ground tremble slightly.

Behind the knights followed a luxurious carriage wrapped in gold foil.

The driver whipped the carriage so hard that the speed reached the limit, and the carriage was shaking. But the people in the carriage still thought it was not fast enough and kept urging the driver to go faster.

The rapidly rotating huge wheels rolled over the black reef ground that had not been cleaned yet, and the mud and sand on the ground were immediately rolled everywhere, even splashing a lot of it on the glass windows on both sides of the carriage.

The civilians on the roadside had no time to dodge and were splashed with mud and sand all over their heads and faces, but they still dared not say a word.

Because, there was a golden family emblem printed on the carriage.

That family emblem belongs to the lord of this place, Viscount Taylor.

"It's the Lord! Quick! Put the things away!"

Seeing this, the old people on the beach quickly got up from the ground and hurriedly began to pack up their things. In their haste, they even didn't care about knocking over the offering bowl on the table.

The civilians who were clearing mud and salvaging driftwood on the dock suddenly changed their expressions, and hurriedly picked up their salvaging tools, rolling and crawling to avoid the galloping horses. Some of them ran a little slower and were almost hit head-on by the galloping horses, and cold sweat immediately soaked their linen robes.

Amidst the chaos, the knights and carriages quickly stopped at the dock.

The knights hurriedly dismounted from their horses, and a man quickly got out of the carriage.

The man was about thirty or forty years old, wearing a dark red aristocratic uniform. His round belly almost burst the clothes, and he had two black and shiny mustaches on his lips. He had a fat face and spoke in a slick manner.

This middle-aged man is the lord of Port Ampolo, Viscount Taylor.

Because he got off the car in a hurry, Viscount Taylor's clothes were a little messy, and even his hair, which should have been combed meticulously, stood up. He didn't even bother to tidy it up, and hurriedly reminded the old butler beside him: "The Earl will be here soon, you should keep a close eye on it and make sure nothing goes wrong."
