The little girl froze in place, looked at her empty hands, and her eyes widened.

"Ouch..."

A groan came from the side, and it was the old man in the room who let out a long breath.

When the little girl heard the noise, a look of surprise appeared on her face, and she crawled to the bed using her hands and feet.

The old man's eyelids moved a few times and he slowly opened his eyes.

The night passed quickly, the sky gradually brightened, a red sun rose, and the raging wind and rain outside stopped.

The door creaked open.

Warm light shone in, and the world outside was clear. The fog near the mountain village had mostly dissipated, with only some remaining in the distance.

The little girl had changed into a set of starched red cloth clothes that had turned a little pale. She was carrying a bag full of patches on her back, and she slowly walked out, supporting the old man.

The old man was wearing a somewhat worn grey cloth gown. He looked better than at night, but he had some difficulty moving. In his hand he was leaning on a wooden cane that had been polished to a shine.

The two went out and walked towards the village entrance.

The old man seemed very weak and began to pant as soon as he arrived at the village entrance.

“Ah…” The little girl made two sounds and raised her hands to gesture a few times.

"Grandpa is fine. Although the long-haired ghost has been eliminated, the ghost energy near the village has not yet dissipated. It will attract other ghosts sooner or later. We have to leave immediately." The gray-robed old man rubbed the little girl's head and said.

The little girl nodded obediently.

The two continued to walk forward. After a few steps, a blue light descended from the sky and landed not far in front of them, revealing a graceful figure.

The person who came was actually a Taoist nun dressed in white, who looked to be in her thirties, with an oval face, fair skin, and pretty features. However, her face was cold, revealing a fierce and murderous aura rarely seen in women. She was holding a white dust whisk in her hand.

"The ghostly aura is so thick that it's almost forming a ghost fog. But why can't I see the ghosts lurking here?" The Taoist nun in white looked around and said to herself.

The old man and the little girl were stunned when they saw the Taoist nun in white falling from the sky.

"Are you from this village?" The Taoist nun in white came over, looked at the two of them, and asked.

"I am honored to meet the fairy lady." The old man finally recovered and was about to kowtow to the Taoist nun in white with surprise.

But he was not feeling well, and as soon as he bent down, he started coughing.

The little girl quickly freed up one hand to pat the old man on the back, but she was young and weak, and it seemed a bit difficult for her to support the old man with just one hand.

"Don't be so polite, old man. I am Master Leiyin from Fuyun Mountain. I was just passing by here on a cloud. I noticed the gathering of ghost energy here, so I came down to check it out." The Taoist nun in white flicked her left sleeve and supported the old man's body in the air, then raised her right palm and returned the salute.

"Yes, yes, if Fairy has anything to ask, I will tell you the truth." The old man caught his breath and nodded quickly.

The little girl hid behind the old man, holding his sleeves with her hands, and looked at the Taoist nun in white with curiosity with her big eyes.

"Looking at the situation, you should be from this village. Has this place been attacked by evil spirits?" The Taoist nun in white asked, taking a look at the little girl's bag.
