Chapter 3: Come with us

Ji Mian woke up again a day later.

The half-open window was filled with the afterglow of the setting sun. The light inside the house was dim, and there was no sign of Chu Shiye.

There were thin mattresses and quilts piled on the floor next to the bed. This must be the bed Chu Shiye slept on last night.

Ji Mian's gaze stayed on the simple mat on the floor. His physical condition was still very bad. After staring for a long time, he felt dizzy and had to close his eyes slightly.

His communication bracelet was damaged long ago. Although the account is still there with a large balance, he cannot log into his account now.

Once he was on that account, the Ji family and his attackers would know he was still alive.

Ji Mian raised his left hand slightly. He was still wearing the clothes he was wearing when he crashed into the planet. Chu Shiye did not take away his personal belongings.

However, there was nothing left on him now.

When Chu Shiye came back, the sun was setting. He pushed the door open and walked in. The afterglow of the evening fell on his handsome face and blended into the darkness deep in his dark brown eyes.

"I went to the place where I found you," Chu Shiye picked up a bag after meeting Ji Mian's gaze, "there are still a lot of parts there."

There was a workbench at the end of the bed, on which were placed some unique mechanical knickknacks that Ji Mian had never seen before. Chu Shiye walked over and poured the parts in the bag onto the workbench.

Ji Mian supported his upper body and slowly sat up. Chu Shiye quickly walked to the bedside and squatted down without saying a word.

Ji Mian lowered his eyes, Chu Shiye raised his head and looked at him, and after a few seconds he said, "I'm sorry."

Ji Mian: “Hmm?”

Chu Shiye: "The porridge I cooked tastes terrible, doesn't it?"

This was probably the first time in his life that he realized this. Although there was no expression on his face, there was a slight hint of frustration in his tone.

Ji Mian: "... It doesn't matter, it's not your problem, it's my problem."

Without waiting for Chu Shiye to say anything, he opened his palm again: "This is for you, as my thank you gift."

On his hand lay an exquisite cufflink, the ruby inlaid on it sparkled brightly even in the dim light, and it was obvious that it was worth a fortune.

Chu Shiye: "I don't want it."

"Why?" Ji Mian asked, "If you think it's not valuable enough—"

"No, I know it's expensive," Chu Shiye said, "but it's yours."

Ji Mian: "But you saved me."

Chu Shiye: "I didn't save you for these things in the first place."

He held down Ji Mian's five fingers, stuffed his hand back into the quilt, and covered the corner of the quilt.

Ji Mian: “…”

Ji Mian hesitated for a moment and said, "Then, can you do me another favor?"

Chu Shiye listened quietly.

Ji Mian's fingertips tried hard to reach out from under the quilt and pinched the cufflink: "Help me sell it, I don't need it anymore."

Since Chu Shiye is unwilling to accept it, he can give it to him in another way.

Chu Shiye thought for a moment and said, “It’s not easy to sell something this valuable in this place.”

"It doesn't matter. Any amount of money is fine." Ji Mian said, "I have to live from now on."

This time Chu Shiye did not refuse and accepted the cufflink: "I will keep an eye out for a good buyer for you."

Ji Mian smiled and thought: Now, it’s time for his savior to ask him some questions.
