This went on for more than half a year until her fourteenth birthday, which happened to be a Saturday.

She got up in the morning and took a shower. Just as she finished, she heard a gentle shout from downstairs, "Little Wen Nuan! Little Nan Xian is here!"

She put a dry towel on her wet short hair and rushed down the stairs, "Why are you here so early?" Didn't she tell him that she would go out shopping and eat with her classmates at noon, and would be at home with her father and Wenrou to blow out the candles in the evening? "Dad, didn't you say you would invite him to dinner in the evening?"

He shrugged gently and innocently, "I'm going to buy groceries, you can ask Xiao Nanxian yourself."

She turned her bright eyes towards him and found that he seemed to have grown taller. Her eyes, like black gemstones, were so clear and bright that it was breathtaking.

"Taking a shower so early again?" Zhan Nanxian walked up to her and took the towel from her hand.

She quickly lowered her head to his chest. She liked him to wipe her hair the most. Her head was wrapped in his warm palm and gently caressed. She felt so comfortable every time that she didn't want him to stop. Unfortunately, she couldn't rub it for too long today. "I have to go out soon."

"What time did you meet them?"

"Eleven o'clock."

"It's only ten o'clock now, it's still early." He sat down on the sofa and put out the chess. "Play two games with me first, I'll take you there later."

She sat down opposite him and simply took away one of his carriages and horses, and he couldn't help laughing.

She raised her palm and sharpened her knife, "Hit the cannon!"

"Get up."

"Pawn!"

"Flying elephant."

"Get out of here!"

He looked up at her, as if he wanted to laugh but couldn't.

"What?" she asked.

"How can you be so naive?"

She stared at him, "What do you mean?"

He curled the corners of his lips and said, "It's the same tricks every time." He shook his head as he spoke, with a compassionate look on his face as if she was a complete fool.

She leaned over and hit him, "This shows that I'm loyal! Do you understand?!"

He grabbed her hand, his eyes turned a little strange, "Really?"

"What's true?"

He said slowly, "Are you loyal?"

For some reason, at that moment she felt as if something hit her heart. It was a very strange feeling, a little sour and numb. She had just finished taking a shower, but her ears were suddenly hot. She subconsciously shook off his hand, but she, who was always fearless, did not dare to look back at him.

He stopped talking and pushed the chess piece with his fingertips.

She prepared to respond and glanced at him quickly. His drooping eyelashes suddenly opened and caught the look she had intended to pass by. She felt her entire neck getting hot.

He still said nothing, but she became more and more restless. For no reason, she had a quiet and strange desire in her heart. She wanted to get up and leave quickly, but she also wanted to stay with him like this. Her thoughts were entangled in a strange and contradictory way.

"Warmth." He said lazily.

Her heart skipped a beat, and she felt an inexplicable sense of anticipation. "What?"

"You're out of chess."

She was stunned and looked at the chessboard. He had the chariot on the left and the cannon behind the horse on the right. Her red general had been completely killed.

She angrily moved the chess pieces and said, "I don't want to play anymore!"

"Come again."

"No!" she glared at him.

He smiled and set up the chessboard, "Be good, if you can last fifteen minutes, I'll give you a birthday present."
