Chapter 32: Cold War, Sadness and Separation (1)

Zhang Duanyan was temporarily transferred to the 66th floor to assist with the Dahua Telecom case, and Pan Weining finally stopped sending flowers.

On the surface, Zhan Nanxian and Wen Nuan acted as if nothing had happened and were busy with their own things. When they occasionally met on a narrow road, she would call him "Master Zhan" with a humble look as usual, and Zhan Nanxian would nod to her slightly as usual. Then the two of them passed each other as if nothing had happened.

However, the careful Ding Xiaodai soon discovered that Zhan Nanxian would only call Zhang Duanyan's insider when he had something to do, and would never look for Wen Nuan again. And Wen Nuan would only ask her, the younger sister, to run errands when she had something to do, and would never knock on the door of the president's office again. After doing this again and again, she was finally sure that Yi San and Jiu Jiu were in a cold war.

Realizing that the situation was not right and that she might become cannon fodder if she was not careful, she immediately became alert and no longer dared to smile casually.

The only one who didn't understand the situation was Zhang Duanyan, who was dragged into the battle for no reason. Seeing that the president told her to do everything and almost ignored Wen Nuan, leaving her almost like a vase, she was secretly surprised and wondered how Wen Nuan had offended the boss, but she couldn't help but feel vaguely happy.

However, what puzzled her was that the two of them seemed to have reached the point where they didn't talk to each other. Obviously, no one even looked at each other, but Zhan Nanxian didn't say that he would fire Wen Nuan or transfer her away, and Wen Nuan didn't say that she would resign. They just stayed in that stalemate every day, as if this was not a company and they were not in a relationship of superior and subordinate.

In the blink of an eye, it was Friday again, and a guest suddenly arrived in the middle of my busy schedule.

Zhang Duanyan stood up quickly. Ding Xiaodai hesitated for a moment, and although he was a little reluctant, he still stood up slowly. Only Wen Nuan, who was dozing with her face on the table, did not even raise her head, which made Ding Xiaodai, who kept looking back, want to roll up a paper ball and throw it at her.

"Miss Bo." Zhang Duanyan greeted hurriedly, "The president is in the office. What would you like to drink? I'll make it for you."

Bo Yixin smiled, "Thank you, can you give me a cup of coffee?" As she walked past the warm table, her eyes glanced over her crouching body intentionally or unintentionally, and she knocked on the door of Zhan Nanxian's office meaningfully, and without waiting for a response, she pushed it open and went in.

Zhan Nanxian, who was behind his desk, looked up and saw her. He smiled and put down his work. "No notice today?"

Bo Yixin lazily sat on the sofa and said, "I don't want to go."

"Not feeling well?"

"No, I just feel listless."

"The doctor said you have to be extra careful in the first three months. I think you should rest for a while."

Bo Yixin touched his abdomen with a faint smile on his face, "What do you think the name should be?"

The door rang and Zhang Duanyan came in with coffee. At that moment, Zhan Nanxian's eyes swept outside. The seat at the secretary's desk was empty. He retracted his gaze and frowned at Bo Yixin, "Why are you still drinking this?"

Bo Yixin took a sip and put down the coffee. "I'm used to it. I can't change it." She glanced at him and said, "Aren't you the same?"

Zhan Nanxian smiled slightly and said nothing.

“Sometimes I really admire you.”

“A lot of people say that.”

"You have been able to remain calm until now about what happened in Daizhong." He never mentioned a word in front of her.
