Chapter 144: Plateau scenery

Views:

Gu Laosan was delayed for a week.

The equipment on the Wrangler had not been moved since entering Tibet. Wang Ping even wondered if the sleeping bags in the roof tent had grown mold.

But in the end, I don’t know if it was because he adapted to the climate and soil, or because the stone pot chicken in Lhasa was too nutritious, but after lying dead in the hotel for a week, someone finally came back to life and began to study the route of this trip in his room.

As for Wang Ping, after he ordered several transactions with someone's phone and asked someone to write notes while sick and have the hotel waiter deliver them to the room, he has been thinking about whether to bring some meat and seasonings for eating on the road. After all, Gu Lao San even brought a gas stove and a pot, so there was no reason to eat wild vegetables and boiled instant noodles in the wild.

Unlike the north-south routes that those outdoor masters and predecessors had taken, Gu Laosan, relying on his own car, actually set an east-west route, not only crossing the deepest part of the Qiangtang No Man's Land, but also bypassing most of the township gathering points and choosing deserted places. This guy is like forgetting the pain after the wound has healed.

The final route starts from Nagqu in the east and ends in Rutog County in the west, with a total distance of more than 1,000 kilometers. It is so exciting that it can cross the entire Tibetan area, which makes a certain badger speechless.

Of course, it was a bit troublesome, but Wang Ping was not too worried.

Gu Laosan is quite self-aware and knows that he is not as good as those real outdoor masters, so he makes up for it with equipment. This time he brought so many professional equipment and GPS positioning. Even if he encounters danger, a badger feels that with him, it will not be a problem to survive until rescue arrives.

Nagqu is located in the north of Lhasa, on a plateau 200 kilometers away. It is 4,500 meters above sea level. Further north is the legendary Tanggula Pass.

Here, one-third of the weather is windy throughout the year, and the average temperature is below zero all year round. However, Gu Laosan chose to come in August, which was an unintentional guess. In the plateau, this season is relatively warm in the year.

But even so, before leaving Lhasa, someone immediately changed into warm clothes and put on a thick jacket.

Fortunately, we drove all the way, and if things really didn't work, there was air conditioning in the car.

After leaving Lhasa and turning from Provincial Highway 202 onto National Highway 109, Gu Laosan's eyes were no longer able to see enough. Everyone, including Wang Ping, kept looking out the car window.

The live broadcast room was also open at this time. Since the day someone decided to go to Tibet, Douyu actually helped him warm up. After he started broadcasting, the homepage was hung with a recommendation advertisement of "Douyu anchor challenges the Qiangtang no-man's land". If someone had not accidentally failed due to acclimatization, the website would have been ready to promote him a week ago.

Of course, Douyu gave resources this time, not because someone signed a contract, nor because Chen Bai loved him, but because since Gu Lao San was recommended to participate in the subsequent live broadcast program, it was like warming up in advance. Anyway, the wool comes from the sheep, and the more people pay attention to Gu Lang now, the more viewers will pay attention to the program later.

After the car drove out of Lhasa city and onto the wide road, there was a constant stream of people shouting "666" in the live broadcast room.

Some people always call traveling to Tibet a pilgrimage. Wang Ping has always felt that this is just the pretentiousness of young artists. What kind of pilgrimage is there in a barren land with less than 3 people per square kilometer

However, this thought had disappeared on the way to Lhasa with Gu Lao San. What followed was shock and transcendence.

Of course, it wasn't just Wang Ping who was shocked, but also Gu Laosan and the netizens in the live broadcast room. Gu Lang had been carrying an oxygen tank all the way, so he was lucky enough to drive the car to Lhasa instead of into the Yarlung Zangbo River. Of course, he didn't have time to experience the shock. Now that he has recovered, he has time to appreciate the scenery along the way.

Before coming here, the first impression that the three words "no man's land" gave Gu Lang was always an endless Gobi desert, yellow sand all over the sky, and a barren land with no life as far as the eye could see.

But the scene before his eyes really demonstrated to someone what seeing is believing and what hearing is not.

The towering snow-capped mountains were covered with dazzling white snow. The sky was pure blue without any impurities. This feeling was different from the sky I saw in Hulunbuir.

What I felt in Hulunbuir before was the vastness of the sky and earth. But the sky on the plateau can make people feel "close". It seems that the sky is "in front of your eyes", and the clouds are "in front of your eyes". Especially the azure blue sky, which is so clean that it makes people tremble.

They hadn't even gotten close to Nagqu, let alone entered Qiangtang, but the netizens in the live broadcast room and Gu Laosan had already felt that the trip was worthwhile.

"It's over, it's over. I'm a homebody, but I'm thinking of going to Tibet."

"Another must-see series in this lifetime"

"Going far to reward the anchor with 6 super rockets..."

"Haha, look at Boss Ping, his eyes are wide open"

"The host must be more shocked, after all, he is feeling it in person."

"Little Lily gave the anchor 3 rockets..."

"A big cow pig gave the anchor a super rocket x2..."

"Little Lily: Pingping didn't smoke this time, so good!"

"A big pig: Khan, what was I going to say..."

Hearing the tip of the reward, Gu Laosan and Wang Ping subconsciously looked at the tablet computer on the dashboard.

Wang Ping: ...Did I say I forgot to take your letter

The distance of 200 kilometers can be reached in one and a half hours by road.

In the first half of the journey to Nagqu, the herders passed through the valley on the western foot of the Nyainqentanglha Mountains. Before entering the Nagqu area, it actually belonged to the administrative area of Lhasa.

It was only after checking the map that I realized that there are actually two mountains called Tanggula in Tibet, and they belong to different regions and geographical locations.

The Tanggula Mountains that people usually refer to are the continuous high mountains in the north of Nagqu, and the most well-known is the famous Tanggula Pass.

As for the Nyainqentanglha Mountains to the east of Nagqu, not many people in the mainland know about them, but they have special significance in the hearts of Tibetans.

The names of the two mountain ranges both come from Tibetan. "Tanggula Mountain" means "mountain on the plateau", while "Nyainqentanglha Mountain" means "sacred mountain on the Lingying grassland". The difference is obvious when compared. The former is too casually named, while the latter is much more serious.

In fact, Nyainqentanglha Mountain is one of the sacred mountains in Tibetan Buddhism and a holy place of Yungdrung Bon, an ancient branch of Buddhism in Zhangzhung.

Of course, because of the natural hot springs and the beautiful Yangbajing Valley on the southern slope, this holy place has now become a tourist attraction near Sala and one of the must-see attractions in Tibetan areas. The true believers, on the other hand, go to Mount Kailash for pilgrimage.

Gu was not here for tourism or pilgrimage, but for excitement. The herders galloped through the valley on the west slope, and once they left the administrative area of Lhasa and entered the Nagqu area, the terrain suddenly changed.

On the west side of National Highway 109, the vast Qiangtang Plateau appears in sight. From the roadbed of National Highway 109, which is located at a higher altitude, you can see snow-capped mountains dotted in between, and rivers and lakes dotted everywhere.

Gu Lang looked to the west, then looked forward, with a conflicted look on his face.

After taking a look at the tablet, a certain anchor asked for others' opinions:

"Everyone, should we go to Nagqu first as originally planned, or should we simply head west and directly enter the Qiangtang Plateau?"
