The sword was finally refined, a three-foot-nine-inch sword, exuding a bright blue light, with an eight-sided sword body, a shank, an axe blade, and the word'Zhiyue' on the hilt.
Zhiyue is the name of this sword. It comes from Zen allusions. The sixth ancestor Huineng talked with Wuzangni. Wuzangni believed that Huineng was illiterate and how to know the Dharma. Huineng used the finger-yue as a metaphor. The scriptures are like Zhiyue. The finger is used to point out where the Dharma is, not the Dharma itself.
Maitreya believes that this allusion coincides with Shashengwan. Shashengwan pursues a treasured sword because he yearns for being strong. However, a treasured sword is not a strong strength. True strength also requires self-cultivation and progress, both physically and mentally.
