I Am In Marvel

Chapter 54: Section 54

In just half a minute, almost all idle American soldiers rushed to the parking area of the main base to meet the plane. For a moment, half of the roads inside the main base were filled with flying dust.

Joseph, who was also at the main base, opened the doors and windows of the officers' meeting room and looked out the window at the soldiers running frantically. He couldn't help but sigh, "Kyle is really amazing! As long as he comes, the morale of the entire base army will soar rapidly. This is the charm of a war hero."

Brandt sat gloomily in his office, staring blankly at the headquarters which had suddenly become lively, pursing his lips and saying nothing.

Joseph blinked and said, "Brandt, are you still struggling with the previous conflict? I believe Kyle has forgotten that little thing a long time ago."

"Of course he forgot." Brandt shook his head and said unhappily, "I am still a second lieutenant, and he is already a major, and he is also an American hero. It is my honor to have competed with an American hero in shooting."

Joseph sighed, knowing that Brandt still couldn't let go of the past during the training period. Indeed, a recruit who was not optimistic about him had made half the world remember his name in less than a year. This was really too damaging to the reputation of the recruit instructor.

But who can be blamed for this

"Then I'll go over and take a look. It's dusty outside, so you just stay inside." After saying that, Joseph put on his hat, walked out of the meeting room, and closed the doors and windows.

Brandt was left sitting alone in his office seat, and whatever he wanted to say turned into a sigh in the end.

Originally, from among the recruits he taught, two American heroes could have emerged at the same time...

In the parking area of the main base.

The transport fighter plane slid down from the end of the runway with a buzzing sound and stopped steadily on the ground. Four soldiers with guns jumped out of the plane door first, put down the stairs, and then stood face to face in the open space in front of the fighter plane door.

Kyle stepped onto the stairs lowered from the fuselage and walked out of the transport fighter.

He was wearing his usual black and cool characteristic combat uniform, with two small energy pistols tied to the outside of his legs, a sodium carbon steel sword in a leather sheath hanging on his back, a cross symbol of the devil on the chest of his combat uniform, and the insignia of the rank of American major on his left shoulder.

The sunlight outside was very dazzling. Kyle originally wanted to block the sun with his hands, but as soon as he stepped off the transport fighter and looked forward, he was slightly stunned the next moment.

Tens of thousands of American soldiers in military combat uniforms filled the large open space next to the transport planes, and there was no end in sight at a glance.

When they saw Kyle, they did not cheer or whistle or make any disrespectful gestures. Instead, they raised their hands quickly and clapped with love and smiles on their faces.

The waves of applause gathered into thunder, echoing in the sky above the main base.

"Kyle, you're finally back." A black officer wearing a left eye patch squeezed out from the crowd of soldiers and walked towards Kyle excitedly.

"You say I'm a warmonger. How can a large-scale war be without me?" Kyle shrugged, hugged Fury Bear, and patted each other on the back.

"Hiss, your strength has increased a lot, use less effort." Fury took a breath and took a half step back.

"It's just so-so." Kyle said with a smile. The physical fitness of the super soldier has been fixed at a peak value, and it cannot be improved through exercise. Fury felt that the increase in his strength only came from the blessing of the Venom suit on his body after it continued to grow.

"Kyle!" A loud voice rang out, and Joseph took some effort to squeeze out from the crowd of soldiers.

"Coach Joseph, you're here too." Kyle nodded at him and asked, "You go back to New York often. I wonder how Lucy is doing now?"

"She's fine. I have already informed the local street police station. Don't worry," Joseph said with a smile.

"Thank you, next time you go back, please bring something back for her." Kyle nodded. He didn't forget Lucy who lived in his house, but the battlefield was always in Europe, so he didn't have much time to return to New York.

"No problem." Joseph agreed immediately.

Fury urged, "Kyle, I'm not only here to pick you up, I'm also here with instructions from General Chitus. He told me to meet him in the base's command room immediately after you arrive at the main base."

"General Chitus, you are the commander-in-chief of the Allied forces in this battle." Kyle nodded and immediately let Fury lead the way.

Kyle walked forward, and the crowded crowd of soldiers suddenly parted to both sides, making a smooth path.

Aside from the soldiers from the original training base, the 102nd Regiment, and the Howling Commandos, the rest of the front-line troops and the new recruits had never seen Kyle. One can imagine how excited they felt when they saw the war hero in person.

This excitement was conveyed through enthusiastic applause, which lasted until Kyle's back disappeared from the crowd.

Chapter 57 National Cards

Under Fury's guidance, Kyle came to the command room of the US headquarters base.

"You go in, I'm just helping to pass the message." Fury stopped at the door of the command room and motioned for Kyle to go in alone.

"Okay, I'll catch you later."

Kyle nodded and walked directly into the command room without any stage fright.

The interior is drab and simple, with a huge strategic map as a decorative background banner and an American flag with stripes and stars. A middle-aged officer is sitting behind a military desk piled with documents.

The middle-aged officer looked to be in his early forties, with a dignified and tough face. He was wearing a complete officer's uniform. On the left chest of the uniform was clearly pinned the distinguished rank insignia of a general, with five stars on it.

Five-star general! The highest-ranking general in the United States during World War II, and the highest commander of the Tripartite Alliance!

Kyle looked at the general officer in front of him, stood firmly on his feet, saluted in a standard manner, and said in a raised voice: "Major Kyle, come forward to report!"

General Chester raised his head, and with sharp eyes he sized up and down Kyle who was standing three meters in front of him, and then nodded with a gentle smile, "Major Kyle, you are finally back."

Kyle nodded and said, "Yes, in the battle in the Alps, in the end, in order to pursue the leader of Hydra, Schmidt, some accidents happened. Steve drove the out-of-control fighter plane and crashed into the sea. I parachuted in advance and escaped."

"Steve... I've read the telegram sent by Agent Carter for the specific details." General Chester sighed regretfully and said to Kyle, "Your safe return is already the greatest victory for our army. At this critical moment in World War II, war heroes cannot fall easily."

General Chester paused for a moment and said meaningfully, "In fact, I have wanted to meet you for a long time. You should know that the super soldier experiment was originally carried out under my order. You refused the forerunner experiment of the super soldier and gave the opportunity to Steve from the same camp. I still remember this clearly."

Kyle was embarrassed, shrugged and said, "Regarding this, I can only say that I was too proud at the time and did not cherish the opportunity to become a super soldier. Fortunately, I was lucky enough later and became the second super soldier by coincidence."

"It turns out that you have the capital to be proud." General Chester shook his head slightly and said in a deep voice: "After Steve became the only super soldier, I was very optimistic about his American justice and iron will, so I specially taught him fighting skills."

"It was beyond my expectation that Steve could become Captain America and an American hero, but it was also within my expectation."

"But you, Kyle, have gone from being a rookie at a training base to repeatedly creating miracles on the front lines. You have relied on your own strength to reach your current status as a hero who dominates the battlefield. This is far beyond my imagination."

General Chester finished speaking and looked at Kyle with undisguised admiration.

"Luck, it's all luck." Kyle said modestly. The general had boasted about himself so much that he had to be low-key for a while.

"If it's all luck, then I hope the goddess has spent all her luck on you." General Chester joked, and then said seriously: "Yesterday, after knowing that you returned to the training base safely, I contacted the president to discuss your matter."

"Discuss with me?" Kyle was slightly stunned, waiting for General Chester's next words.

General Chester said seriously, "I suggest that you be promoted to the rank of major general as an exception, and the president has agreed."

Major-Major General

Kyle was completely stunned this time. What did major general mean? He was an officer of the same rank as a general!

Although he had previously had impressive promotion experiences from a recruit to corporal, from a corporal to a second lieutenant due to meritorious service, and from a second lieutenant to a major due to his outstanding military achievements, the magnitude of the jump this time was simply too astonishing.

You have to know that each promotion from major to a higher rank requires a lot of time to settle down and accumulate military merits, and it has been less than a month since Kyle was promoted to the rank of major.

"General Chester, I think I haven't accumulated enough military merit to be promoted to major general." Kyle said hesitantly.

"Hahaha, if I only rely on military merit or achievements, even if I fight for fifty years, I can only be a four-star general at most." General Chester laughed and reminded Kyle, "This is the Second World War. There are exceptions to everything!"
