Since some readers are curious about the rules of chess, in order to explain it clearly and in detail, I will open a separate chapter and will not go into details later.

1. Play chess.
Go is just an image, representing that Tiandao can only act according to the rules. Lu Xingyun followed this "rule" and pressed Tiandao step by step, eventually making Tiandao lose on the rules and unable to turn the tables.
Therefore, playing chess is not entirely based on the rules of Go. Tiandao plays with white pieces and Lu Xingyun plays with black pieces. The influence between them is not the encirclement and killing in Go, but the influence of reality on the chess pieces. For example, in the main text, a person who should have succeeded in the adventure in the secret realm, but because of the fall of Tiandao's white pieces, his fate was affected and he died in the secret realm, causing the black pieces to disappear.
(One thing to add here is that the rules of heaven cannot kill people directly, but they can slightly affect external conditions and cause people's deaths. For example, when people are undergoing a tribulation, they can add some extra ingredients to people within the rules to a limited extent. As a cultivator, there is still a chance to struggle to survive. The key lies in oneself.
The cultivators' repeated success in surviving was equivalent to perfecting the loopholes in the Heavenly Dao's rules, letting Heavenly Dao know that this rule was not working and must be strengthened, which led to the refinement of Heavenly Dao's rules and the evolution of Heavenly Dao.

2. Time.
Here, time has no effect on Lu Xingyun and Tiandao, but for the real world, time is still moving forward. Lu Xingyun cannot go to the future all at once. The future is constantly changing based on the changes at various points on the present timeline.
This point was mentioned by Xiaobai when he first met the fortune teller dressed as the Immortal Lord Fatian. Every time fortune-telling is used to predict the future, the results are different, some are big and some are small. There are many factors that affect the future, and the key lies in how you choose.
Therefore, every chess piece, including the entire chess game, is changing rapidly and needs to be adjusted all the time.

3. Chess pieces.
Before Lu Xingyun ascended, he had already selected some chess pieces. What Tiandao wants to destroy now are the chess pieces selected by Lu Xingyun. If all the chess pieces disappear, Lu Xingyun will lose.
When Lu Xingyun holds these chess pieces, he can instantly sense the future outcome of the person representing the chess piece, whether he will be killed by the Heavenly Dao, or successfully reach the stage of ascension and be taken away by Lu Xingyun.
Of course, after the chess piece falls, the Heavenly Dao will still affect the chess piece. There are two endings for the chess piece on the chessboard: temporarily staying or completely disappearing. The one that stays will continue to provide power to Lu Xingyun, and the one that disappears means that Lu Xingyun has lost his power.
So from another perspective, whoever has more chess pieces on the board has stronger power. This is also why Tiandao later used Xiaobai to cut off Lu Xingyun's resources and make him lose most of his chess pieces.

4. Trapped.
Lu Xingyun's body was trapped by the Heavenly Dao, which meant that she couldn't use all her strength to travel around the entire cultivation world.
But this does not mean that she cannot interfere in the world of cultivation and choose chess pieces in the future.
Before she ascended, she had already selected some chess pieces. These chess pieces had her panels on them and could serve as her bodies for "divine descent", just like at the end of the main text, Lu Xingyun used the body of Wuweishanren to meet Jiang Yuebai.
Regarding the panel on the chess piece, I would like to add that not everyone has it. For example, Jiang Yuebai has it, but Li Jiuchuan doesn’t. Everyone can just regard this as Lu Xingyun’s arbitrary behavior.
After that, Lu Xingyun had to choose Wuweishanren and Xiaobai. It was actually very simple. There were still chess pieces on her chessboard, and those chess pieces must have different levels of cultivation. Lu Xingyun only needed to use the panel to attach his consciousness to one of the chess pieces, and then influence the next child to be chosen, and then let the panel erase this part of the memory.
Xiaobai's body has never been controlled by Lu Xingyun because Xiaobai is special. She is the chess piece chosen by Tiandao and Lu Xingyun. This has been mentioned indirectly in the main text, and I will mention it again in the extra chapters later.

Finally, playing chess is just an image representing the game between Lu Xingyun and the Heavenly Dao. As long as the logic is self-consistent in the text, if there is a problem, as the author, I can always add conditions and create conditions to make this matter logically smooth. So sometimes I don’t particularly want to write everything in such detail. First of all, I have to ensure the smoothness of the story.
