Inside The Black Mist

Chapter 173: Flying Catkins

The Falcon Chariot was stopped by a towering metal gate. This heavy gate, which was obviously not capable of being pushed by human power, was located at the entrance of Wind's Rest Valley.

The gate was rusty, covered with sand, dust, and other strange stains. There were even some creatures' fur and tattered fabrics stuck on it, creating a unique style of the wilderness.

There is a turret on each side of the door. They are black, but the huge muzzles are as big as a human head, which is a symbol of military power.

It might pose limited threat to Ascendant teams like Nightwalkers, but it is still sufficient to deal with wanderers, thugs or beasts in the wilderness.

"Who are you? What are you doing in our Wind's Rest Valley?" A soldier emerged from a turret on the left. He was wearing a tan half-length cloak, revealing the armor and a mechanical arm underneath.

The car door opened, Han Shu jumped out, and put his hand on his forehead to block the hot afternoon sun: "I am Han Shu from Qingtian Fort. I have something to ask your leader. Hurry and open the door for me!"

It seemed that Han Shu was quite popular in Fengxi Valley. Not long after, the roar of mechanical operation was heard behind the door. Amid the harsh friction sound, the double-opening metal door slowly opened to the left and right.

Han Shu returned to the car and patted Yan Bing on the shoulder: "Let's go, there will be someone leading the way ahead, just follow them."

Two Falcon chariots passed through the gate. Tianyang looked out of the window and saw dozens of men in different costumes sitting or standing under the towers on both sides, staring at these uninvited guests with deep eyes.

The equipment of these warriors in Wind's Rest Valley is quite varied, ranging from light firearms to heavy machine guns, and even some old models of star firearms can be seen among them.

They sat directly on some ammunition boxes and even smoked on them, without worrying about the ammunition under their butts exploding.

As the chariot went deeper into the canyon, Tianyang became more and more certain that Wind Rest Valley was not a natural product.

When he came from a high place, he found that this so-called canyon was too straight, with neat edges. It looked like it was dug out with special engineering equipment, or formed by a high-level energy torrent sweeping across the earth.

But even Han Shu couldn't explain the origin of Wind's Rest Valley. He only knew that the terrain here was like this before Skyfort was built.

Now driving in the canyon, Tianyang is even more certain of this.

The cliffs on both sides of the canyon are slightly sunken, and the curvature remains surprisingly consistent from beginning to end.

Such natural landforms are impossible to appear in nature.

The flying squirrels occupied this canyon and made their home here. They dug caves on both sides of the valley slopes to live in, and built stairs inside for going up and down, so there were five or six caves up and down on each valley slope.

Outside the upper cave dwellings, the residents of Fengxi Valley built balconies with iron plates or wood. Some of the upper cave dwellings even built corridors with a mixture of wood and iron plates for residents to come and go!

In the car, Han Shu smiled and said, "Now you know why these guys are called flying squirrels, because they are so good at digging holes."

Tianyang nodded in agreement.

When we came to the middle of the canyon, we saw more buildings. The residents of Wind Rest Valley seemed no longer satisfied with living in caves. They built various houses in the canyon, but these houses were not for living.

These iron structures, or mixed wood and iron, or even stone buildings are bars, casinos, recycling stations and warehouses.

From time to time, there are old-fashioned

Motorcycles and light tanks were used for transportation. Most of the people were tough and armed, and there were almost no ordinary residents. Only some scantily clad women occasionally flashed through the crowd.

It took the Raven Squad more than half an hour to reach the end of the canyon, where a tall wall had been built, firing points had been set up, and soldiers were conducting security checks.

All the arrangements are to serve the tall building behind the wall.

This is a stilt building. Although it is only four stories high, it can be considered a tall building in the canyon.

The building was probably added on at different times, so the style of each floor is slightly different.

Although the building is not tall, it has a large construction area. There are at least seven or eight rooms on each floor, and some have as many as fifteen or sixteen.

There is an anti-aircraft machine gun installed on several commanding heights of the high-rise building. Even though it is just an old model of live ammunition firearm, it still poses a certain threat to low-level Ascenders.

After all, the space here is limited, but there are more firing points. If they are concentrated, the result can be imagined.

Two Falcon chariots stopped outside the high wall. Han Shu asked the soldiers and Qingdai to stay in the chariots and remain on guard.

He took several members of Tianyang team out of the car and walked into the high wall.

Behind the wall was a small square where groups of flying squirrel warriors came and went. When they looked at the Raven Squad, their eyes were not friendly at all.

"It's a rare occasion for the adults from Skyrim to visit our small Wind's Rest Valley. We all feel honored." An exaggerated voice sounded from the stilt house.

A strong middle-aged man came down from the stilt house. He had long hair, but it was braided into a braid at the back of his head. He had a short beard, and when he smiled, he showed two front teeth that seemed to be made of gold.

He was wearing an open-collared lake blue long gown with a dark brown linen shirt underneath. A dark blue cloth strip was wrapped around his waist, and the strip hung at the end of his waist with a golden ring tied to it.

The man's left hand and right calf both had mechanical prosthetics, and these prosthetics were equipped with light weapons. It seemed that if he needed to, he could fire at any time, so the man did not carry any obvious weapons.

Behind him, there were two teams of flying squirrel warriors, eight in total, all of whom were strong men with round arms, carrying swords and guns.

Han Shu narrowed his eyes: "Who are you?"

The man with the long braid laughed out loud: "I am the leader of the flying squirrels, You Jin. Captain Han, please come in."

The man who called himself You Jin welcomed Han Shu and the other three into the lobby on the first floor of the stilt house. The lobby was quite spacious, with a row of wine cabinets, a round carpet in the middle, a wooden table, and a few low chairs.

There were two young girls of average looks in the hall. When they saw You Jin bringing guests in, they skillfully poured a few glasses of wine, placed them on the wooden table, and stepped aside.

"Everyone, please take a seat." You Jin greeted them warmly and winked at the two girls: "Wine without meat, how can we, the Flying Squirrels, entertain guests? Go, bring the adults some top-quality barbecue."

Han Shu laughed: "No need to bother with that. I'm actually curious, when did the leader of the flying squirrels change?"

The smile on You Jin's face froze, and then he forced a smile and said, "Captain Han, what do you mean by this?"

Han Shu asked strangely, "Am I wrong? Isn't the leader of your flying squirrels Piaopiao? How come it's you, You Jin? Could it be that you killed Piaopiao and became the leader yourself?"

On the leader?"

You Jin was confused and frowned: "Captain Han, I don't know what you are talking about. I..."

"Han Manzi, is it really you?"

A slightly magnetic female voice sounded at the stairs in the corner of the hall. Everyone looked and saw someone coming down.

She was a woman in her early thirties, wearing a tight black leather coat with a red jacket over it.

Two tan belts were tied crosswise around her slender waist, with guns and daggers hanging on both sides of the belts, and a short blade across her back.

Her long hair was tied up and fixed with a metal hairpin. On her face, I don't know if it was a birthmark or a color paint, but there were three red stripes.

The woman was standing at the corner, holding the fence with both hands, and said unhappily, "My name is Feixu, what's Piao Piao about? When will you change your bad habit of giving people nicknames casually?"

Han Shu laughed out loud: "Fei Xu Fei Xu, isn't it just floating around? I call you Piaopiao, there's nothing wrong with that."

The woman named Feixu rolled her eyes, hooked her finger and said, "Come up."

Han Shu winked at Tian Yang and the others and said, "Captain, I have some business to discuss with their leader. You guys just wait here. Well, I guess we'll have to spend the night here, so be prepared."

You Jin put on a smile again: "Don't worry, Captain Han, I will treat your men well."

Han Shu hummed: "Then I'll leave it to you."

He patted his butt, walked up the stairs, and left the hall with Feixu.

The two went straight up to the fourth floor, and Feixu led Han Shu into a room. Han Shu locked the door immediately after entering the room, staring at Feixu's graceful back with a dry smile.

Feixu opened the window, turned around and asked, "Mr. Han, why did you come to the wilderness instead of staying in your Skyfort?"

Han Shu walked forward with a smile: "I don't miss you anymore."

"You're kidding. I haven't seen you, you bastard, for years. What the hell do you miss me for? Do you think I'm still a teenage girl who would believe what you say so easily?" Fei Xu sneered.

Han Shu walked over, suddenly hugged her, and kissed her on the mouth.

Feixu raised her hand to cover his mouth and said, "What are you doing? We are not familiar with each other."

Han Shu laughed dryly, then carried her to the table beside him, and began to stroke her legs with his big hands: "Piaopiao, you make me so sad when you say that. We were in love after all, so why are you denying it now?"

"Get lost!" Feixu scolded, "Han, if you have something to say, say it now. I don't like you anymore. Look at you, you have grown ugly. I want to sleep with you now, and I want to find the long-haired one under your command, or the little white-haired one will do."

"As for you?"

Feixu looked disdainful: "I don't even want it even if it's given to me for free."

Han Shu covered his chest and said in pain, "Piaopiao, you are too ruthless, aren't you? Besides, what's so good about that young boy? He is not like me who knows your depth."

Fei Xu sneered, "I haven't seen you for a few years, and you've become thicker-skinned. Are you going to talk about business or not? If not, get out of here. I'm not interested in flirting with an old man."

Han Shu scratched his head and sighed, "Okay, okay, you heartless woman, I'm here to ask you about someone."

"who?"

"Ye Chong!"
