From 1926 to 1927, in order to overthrow the rule of the Northern Warlords, the Chinese Communist Party and the Chinese Kuomintang worked together to form the National Revolutionary Army and launched the Northern Expedition that shocked China and foreign countries. Following the Battle of Tingsi Bridge and the Battle of Hesheng Bridge, the battle to capture Mahuiling was fought again in November 1926. The story of this play begins here.

Nanjiang Railway, a train driven by an old steam locomotive, whizzed past.
In the evening.
Ma Huiling.
"Boom! Boom!" Ma Huiling was engaged in a life and death battle.
Down the mountain, the northern expedition military mortars violently bombarded the remnants of Sun Chuanfang on the mountain. On the mountain, Sun Jun swept down the mountain with light and heavy machine guns and rifles. Throughout Mahuiling, there was continuous artillery fire, and there was a rain of bullets.
Northern Expedition Command. Chief of Staff Zhao Rukun suggested to Commander Gong Xian: "It takes time and effort to fight like this. Should we send two companies from the back of the mountain, taking advantage of the darkness, to outflank them and carry out a sneak attack?"
"It's a good way." Gong Xian agreed: "Just order the second and fourth connections, you can arrange it!"
"Okay." After Zhao Rukun responded, he walked out of the command post and ran to the battlefield.
