When we arrived at the parking lot of the recording studio, Sheng Min's interview had not yet ended.
While waiting, Li Xuan pulled out the planning proposal for "Against the Tracks". He had handled the project from start to finish, from planning to programming, all by himself, without having to ask others to understand. The proposal was also relatively brief, and most of the content was in his mind. He directly checked the final timeline. He had told Qi Boyuan that it would take half a year, but he actually only planned four months for himself. According to his current progress, he could basically complete it. If he wanted to speed up...
Li Xuan was distracted for a while while looking at the document, then closed it again. He pinched his brows, took out a cigarette box from the armrest box, and wanted to smoke a cigarette to refresh himself. When he got out of the car and lit the lighter, before he touched the cigarette, he saw Sheng Min wearing a mask and a hat, walking out of the elevator.
"Are you done with the interview?" Li Xuan quickly threw the cigarette into the trash can with his hands behind his back.
"Well, I let Yang Xu and the others go first." Sheng Min took off her makeup, and the ends of her hair were a little wet.
We haven't seen each other for a month, but we have been texting and video chatting every day and have endless things to talk about. When we met for the first time, we were at a loss for words and could only smile at each other.
Li Xuan really wanted to hug him, but this was not a good position for a hug. He raised his arm unconsciously, but restrained himself and put it down. He walked forward and just lightly and quickly wiped a drop of water rolling down his brow.
"Get in the car first." Li Xuan opened the car door for him. "Didn't you say you wanted to eat Thai food? I've reserved a table. It's the one we've been to before. It should be about the same size now."
Sheng Min looked at him for a moment, took the car keys from him, and said, "I'll drive."
"What's wrong?"
Sheng Min didn’t answer, but pushed him: “Hurry up.”
Inexplicably, he pushed her into the passenger seat. Sheng Min walked around to the other side and got in. After fastening her seat belt, she said, "I see you look tired. Let me do it."
"No way." Li Xuan laughed.
Sheng Min's expression was serious: "Obviously there is."
"Don't scare me so seriously." Li Xuan laughed and stretched out his hand to pinch his face, but Sheng Min held his fingertips instead: "What time did you go to bed last night?"
He hadn't slept at all. He wanted to make up a time, but he didn't know which time would be acceptable to Sheng Min. After hesitating for only a second, Sheng Min asked again, "When did you have your last meal?"
Now Li Xuan could answer immediately: "Noon."
"That means you didn't sleep." Sheng Min pouted, "I saw your cigarette just now. You thought I didn't notice it because you threw it away quickly... Are you sleepy?"
"The logic is not so logical. How can it be like interrogating a criminal?" Li Xuan smiled.
"You are always like this." Sheng Min looked at him with heartache and helplessness, her eyes sparkling and wet, like a deer.
Li Xuan didn't feel tired at first, but at this moment, he melted in his soft gaze. A little fatigue came over him belatedly. He smiled, stretched out a hand to Sheng Min uncontrollably, and said softly, "Don't be angry, it's my fault. Let me hold you for a while... I miss you so much, I want to hug you."
Sheng Min looked at the faint blue color under his eyelids and felt distressed. Without saying anything else, she obediently unbuckled her seat belt and went over to hug him.
Li Xuan slowly closed his eyes, feeling how Sheng Min's arms were wrapped around him, and how he was stroking his back patiently. After a long while, he whispered to him, "You are so tired, what happened?"
As his name suggests, he is always sharp about everything. Li Xuan still habitually answered: "Nothing."
Sheng Min was silent for a moment, raised her hand and gently touched his temples, her tone was still very gentle: "You know, I am most afraid of hearing you tell me that everything is fine. I always wonder if it is really okay, or if I can't solve it and can't protect you, so you just don't tell me."
This was the first time in Li Xuan's life that he heard someone say such words to him. He smiled and repeated, "You want to protect me?"
"Shouldn't it be?" Sheng Min hugged him even tighter as she spoke. Her thin arms tried to hold him in her arms. Her tone was as if she was saying the most natural thing in the world. "You are my boyfriend, and you have always been protecting me."
He stepped back a little, pecked Li Xuan's lips, and rubbed his forehead: "Can't you tell me?"
"Don't use honey traps."
"It's useless?"
"It's useful." Li Xuan thought for a while. Sheng Min's eyes were fixed on him. He could only say casually, "It's just a small problem, really... Shu Xin is very ill, and Li Mingge called me again."
"You can't go back." He deliberately downplayed the trouble. Sheng Min immediately became alert after hearing this, "Don't go back. They won't treat you well."
"I'm not going back." Li Xuan touched his face, "I listen to my boyfriend the most."
His tone was relaxed, and Shengmin was unmoved. He recalled the brief encounter with his adoptive father Li Xuan: "Did he threaten you again? What does he want to do?"
In fact, the troubles caused by Li Mingge have never stopped in recent days. Li Xuan just smiled and said, "It's okay, don't worry. It's nothing. I can solve any problems I have."
"You need to tell me something."
Li Xuan nodded, and seeing that he was still worried, he deliberately frowned: "Nothing else, I just feel annoyed when I think of this person. You have seen him, he looks very disgusting."
"Then don't look at them, look at me."
"Okay, just you."
Sheng Min didn't know whether to believe it or not, so she childishly shook hands with him and emphasized again: "Tell me if there is anything."
Li Xuan also agreed, holding his face and kissing him again.
"Then go to sleep for a while. I'll call you when we get there."
After clinging for a while, Sheng Min let go of his hand, leaned over, laid the passenger seat flat, turned up the air-conditioning temperature, and reached for the pillow and quilt from the back seat, opened it, and put it on him. Only then did she realize that in this short period of less than a minute, Li Xuan had fallen asleep.
She sighed silently, lowered her head, kissed his eyes gently, and started the car.
Feeling the car stop, Li Xuan regained consciousness and reached for Sheng Min's hand before opening his eyes: "Where is this? Are we at the restaurant?"
"It's downstairs from my house. I just called the restaurant to cancel. I ordered some fresh food to be delivered. We'll eat at home tonight. I'll cook. You can go upstairs and get some sleep."
"Don't bother."
"I don't think it's a bother at all." Sheng Min poked the back of his hand, "I don't know you yet. No matter how good your promise is, once you leave my sight, you start working overtime again... You promised to be obedient. I'll watch over you while you sleep."
She was not sober at all and could not persuade him. She was easily persuaded and followed him upstairs. Sheng Min took out her own pajamas for him to change into, and when they returned to the bedroom, she had already lit the sleep-aid aromatherapy.
Perhaps it was because of the fragrance, or perhaps it was because he was too sleep deprived, but Li Xuan's head touched the pillow and he soon lost consciousness again. During this time, he woke up twice when he heard birds singing outside the window.
Every time, Sheng Min would prop her head up beside the bed and look at him, saying, "Go to sleep, I'm here." With her other hand, she would gently cover his eyes.
The warmth of his palms seemed like some lost secret technique. With Sheng Min by his side, the tiredness he had been hiding seemed to find a place to rest. A long-lost good sleep finally favored Li Xuan.
