Light In The Deep Alley

Chapter 14

Jiang Bei was eating takeout when she received Jiang Ji's call. She had picked out all the beans and meat from the bean stewed noodles and was eating the noodles slowly, one by one.

Jiang Bei picked up the phone and said "Hello". After listening to what Jiang Ji said on the phone, she simply said, "I'm eating. I don't have time."

I don't know what Jiang Ji said on the other end of the phone. Jiang Bei said impatiently: "Why don't you go by yourself? It's annoying."

Having said that, she still put down her chopsticks and went downstairs while listening to the phone.

She was short and thin, and she almost became invisible when she got into the crowd of people in the bar. She leaned against the wall behind her and looked at the glasses not far away through the gap in the crowd: "Look carefully, isn't it the thin guy wearing glasses?"

Jiang Ji said a few more words on the phone, and Jiang Bei responded briefly: "Got it!"

After hanging up the phone, Jiang Bei put her old phone in her pocket.

A few seconds later, she saw Jiang Ji push open the door of the bar and walk in.

Jiang Ji was tall and eye-catching. As soon as he came in, he was noticed by the man named Glasses who kept looking towards the door.

When he walked in, Glasses asked half-accusingly, "I called you several times, why didn't you answer?"

"I didn't bring my phone with me. I'll go to the second floor to get it." Jiang Ji raised his chin towards the stairs. "Didn't you want to see that photo?"

"Okay." Seeing that this deal was going to work, Glasses nodded happily, "Hurry up."

Jiang Ji's eyes casually glanced at the phone in his hand, and he turned and walked towards the stairs. Jiang Bei was standing by the stairs, his back leaning against the wall, and he naturally reached out to him.

Jiang Ji reached a hand out of his pocket and put something in her palm, then walked past her and went straight to the stairwell.

Looking at the only piece of bubble gum in his hand, Jiang Bei curled his lips and muttered, "Stingy."

Then she unwrapped it and popped the bubble gum into her mouth.

Jiang Ji entered the stairwell, but he did not go up to the second floor. Instead, he turned behind the stairs and stopped in front of the switch box.

The yellowed switch box door had lost paint in many places. Jiang Ji raised his hand and opened the door. His finger touched the main switch and pressed it down. With a light "click" sound, the noisy disco music stopped and was replaced by restless voices -

"Shit, what's going on?!"

"The power is out?"

"What's going on?!"

The darkness fell unexpectedly, and the bar was immediately filled with noisy curses and the drunken guests were in chaos.

In the corner of the bar, a pair of big, pitch-black eyes blinked, then waited for an opportunity to move, swimming through the crowd of people who were complaining loudly and making noises like a nimble fish.

At the same time, Jiang Ji turned off the power switch, put his hands in his pockets, and walked up the stairs slowly.

Darkness fosters violence in some people and breeds excitement factors in some people.

In this dark environment where no one can see each other clearly, the drunkards wantonly vented their emotions. Someone reacted first and turned on the flashlight on his mobile phone, but the narrow beam of light was useless in the huge darkness.

Glasses was holding his phone and looking around. He was about to turn on the flashlight to see what was going on around him. Suddenly, he felt a chill in his abdomen. The coldness spread rapidly downwards. He instantly exploded, jumped off the stool, and cursed loudly: "Fuck, who knocked over the wine glass!"
