Light In The Deep Alley

Chapter 3

The recording of the program lasted until the early morning hours. The nearly ten-hour recording session was not only a torture for all the waiting bands, but also a huge drain on the physical energy for the mentors who had been sitting in their seats racking their brains to give comments.

After the show, Chen Jia came over and asked the mentors not to leave yet, saying that Director Shi and Sister Qi wanted to treat everyone to a midnight snack.

Qin Qingzhuo took out his cell phone and checked the messages. The message bar at the top of the screen reminded him that he had several missed calls, all from Ji Chi.

On WeChat, Ji Chi had already sent several messages:

—"Qing Zhuo, I was sleeping just now and didn't answer the call."

— "Qing Zhuo, when can you come back? I just received a message from the director saying that my play will be rehearsed tomorrow morning, so I have to leave early this morning."

— "The last flight is at 3:30 in the morning, so I have to leave at 2."

Qin Qingzhuo glanced at the time in the upper left corner of the screen. It was still forty-five minutes before two in the morning. If everything went well, he should be able to catch up to send Ji Chi off. He quickly picked up his coat and said to Chen Jia, "You guys eat. I have something urgent to do and need to go back."

Chen Jia was very considerate. Seeing that Qin Qingzhuo did not intend to refuse and seemed to be in urgent need of something, he did not say any more nonsense and picked up his phone: "Brother Qingzhuo, I will arrange for the driver of the program team to take you. Can I send you the driver's phone number and license plate number on WeChat?"

"Okay, thank you Chen Jia." Qin Qingzhuo said, and hurried out of the studio.

Taking the elevator down to the underground parking lot, Qin Qingzhuo was almost visually shocked when he saw the densely packed and slowly moving vehicles.

The underground parking lot was jammed with at least a hundred cars, which was considered normal when cars were moving in and out normally. But now that the show recording was over, everyone was in a hurry to go home, causing a traffic jam.

Fortunately, security guards were urgently arranged to come to the park to prevent traffic paralysis in the underground parking lot.

When Qin Qingzhuo walked to where the car was parked, the driver was already standing by the car and opened the back door for him.

But after sitting in the tutor's seat for nearly ten hours in a row, Qin Qingzhuo now had a sore back and waist, and he didn't want to stay in the cramped carriage at all.

He pointed to the outside and said to the driver: "I'll go to the roadside first. Please call me when the car leaves."

"Okay, Mr. Qin." The driver responded.

Qin Qingzhuo walked out of the underground parking lot while replying to Ji Chi: "I'll go back now, and try to get there before two o'clock."

The phone vibrated, and the other end replied in seconds: "Okay, I'll wait for you."

Two seconds later, another message came in: "Don't be too hasty, ask the driver to drive steadily."

Qin Qingzhuo put away his phone, walked out of the underground parking lot, and pulled the black mask on his face to his chin.

It was dim at night, so he shouldn't be recognized by many people. Besides, he had been in retirement for four years, and most people in this world were so forgetful... Qin Qingzhuo took a deep breath of the night air.

The concentration of car exhaust outside the parking lot is slightly lower, but it is far from fresh air.

On the way out, Qin Qingzhuo put away his phone and felt a little sorry for Ji Chi.

Ji Chi had been filming outside for half a year. The crew finally gave him three days off. Ji Chi flew back that night to accompany Qin Qingzhuo. But the week before the show happened to be Qin Qingzhuo's busiest time. In order to make full preparations for the first episode, Qin Qingzhuo was so busy that he didn't even sleep for a few hours, let alone go home to accompany Ji Chi.
