Light In The Deep Alley

Chapter 57

In October, the autumn atmosphere deepened. A thick layer of leaves fell on both sides of Honglu Street. Jiang Bei was playing with the fallen leaves by the alley when Jiang Ji called him over: "Please repeat the three things I emphasized."

"Lock the door at night, don't steal, and don't play games all night," Jiang Bei said impatiently, "You're so nagging."

The car sent by the program team was waiting at the bottom of the stairs. Jiang Ji stood up, carrying his guitar and picking up his suitcase, and walked towards Peng Keshi and Zhong Yang. As soon as he stepped down the stairs, he saw Qin Qingzhuo's car driving over from the corner of the street.

The car stopped, Qin Qingzhuo pushed the door and got out. The staff of the program crew waiting at the door greeted him and he nodded in response.

"Brother Qingzhuo," Zhong Yang raised his hand to greet Qin Qingzhuo, "Oh no, should I call you boss now?"

"Don't, that's too harsh." Qin Qingzhuo said with a smile, and then looked at Peng Keshi, "Has Keshi's school approved her leave?"

"Well, our counselor is a very nice person," Peng Keshi said, and then asked, "Brother Qingzhuo, will you go with us?"

"I'm not going. It was just that I suddenly thought before going to bed last night that if you all left, would there be no one to take care of Jiangbei?"

"She can take care of herself." Jiang Ji looked at him and said.

"I'm not worried about her ability to take care of herself, but isn't it unsafe for her to live here alone?" Qin Qingzhuo said, "Do you want to bring Jiang Bei to my place to stay for a few days?"

Jiang Ji didn't say anything, but lowered his eyes to look at Jiang Bei.

Qin Qingzhuo approached Jiang Bei, half squatted in front of her, and asked for her opinion: "Jiang Bei, how about staying at my house for a few days?"

Jiang Bei said nothing, just stared at Qin Qingzhuo with his round black eyes for a long time without saying anything.

Jiang Ji knew that Jiang Bei was a person of unique character, even more so than himself. Just when he was about to say "forget it" in case she rejected him too directly and embarrassed Qin Qingzhuo, he did not expect Jiang Bei to blink and actually nodded hesitantly.

"Then... go upstairs and pack your things?" Qin Qingzhuo smiled, "I'll wait for you downstairs."

Jiang Bei turned around and ran upstairs. She packed up quickly and soon ran downstairs with her backpack in her arms. She ran to Qin Qingzhuo and said, "Let's go."

The three members of the band carried their instruments and suitcases to the program crew's car. Qin Qingzhuo walked down the steps, greeted them, and then took Jiang Bei to his car.

Jiang Bei got into Qin Qingzhuo's car, rolled down the window, and rested his pointed chin on the window sill as he looked at Jiang Ji: "I'm leaving, you have to play well."

The tone was mature, and Jiang Ji's mouth curled slightly: "Mind your own business."

Watching the car carrying Qin Qingzhuo and Jiang Bei driving out of Honglu Street, Jiang Ji retracted his gaze, opened the door and got into the program crew's car.

Sitting in the back seat of the car, Jiang Bei turned his head silently and looked out the window.

In fact, Qin Qingzhuo was a little surprised that Jiang Bei agreed to go home with him. Because when he squatted down and looked at Jiang Bei, he clearly saw the vigilance in Jiang Bei's eyes. He had been prepared to be rejected, but he didn't expect Jiang Bei to nod a few seconds later.

Thinking of this, Qin Qingzhuo turned his head to look at her curiously: "Jiang Bei, why did you agree to come with me?"
