In Xiaoshan County, Zhejiang, there is Mount Ramirot, and Xizi Temple in Shanxi. It is said to be the former residence of Xi Shi, a beautiful woman from Vietnam during the Warring States Period. The house was used as a shrine with a pair of embroidered shoes, which was later renamed Xizi Temple. The locals called Niangniang Temple. There was a bottle of Xishi sitting and rowing bottles in it, honored as "Goddess of Lotus."
From the twelfth year of the Wanli Ming Dynasty, Xiaoshan County will hold a grand welcoming contest from the first to the third day of the third month of the lunar calendar every year. Shaoxing troupes are invited to perform. The famous Shushi plays Xishi in a parade in Rolling Forty-eight Village. At this time, the crowd was crowded with fireworks in all directions.
This year, on the eve of the temple fair, tourists from all over the world flocked to Xiaoshan County. In an instant, the small Luoluo Township was very lively and crowded.
In the monk's house in the North Chamber of Xizi Temple, there are two ascetics, one old and one young. They traveled thousands of miles from the North to Jiangnan just to see the grand temple fair. The old monk is about 70 or 80 years old. His beard and hair are all white, and his face is wrinkled as deep as a knife, but his body is very straight. In addition, the bulging tendons on the back of his hands are vigorous and powerful. It's the age of dying, but still vigorous, like a man of age. The little monk was only thirteen or fourteen years old, wearing a new monk's clothing, and his face was shining brightly. In the past three years, he followed the old monk, served rice and tea, and traveled the world. Although he had been washed by wind, frost, rain and snow, and suffered from the hardship of the journey, he did not look tired and looked refreshed.
The little monk was lying on the side of the couch and asked the old monk, "Master, why are we here just to watch the temple fair tomorrow night?" The old monk stroked his bald head, his face overflowing with kindness, and said:" Xinyuan, “I don’t go to hell, who goes to hell” have you heard the Zen saying, it’s more appropriate to use this to describe the Lord God here. The goddess of lotus was originally called Yiguang, known as Xi Shi, originally The Huansha girl by the Huansha River was selected into the palace when she was fourteen years old. Four years later, she was sent to Wu by the Yue King Goujian. She was deeply confined in the palace wall for ten years. She used her wisdom and kindness to save the Vietnamese people from the water and fire. Among them, and she herself, alone, suffers from pain every day, enduring humiliation until she returns to her hometown."
The little monk heard from afar, and raised his head and asked incomprehensibly, "Is she the princess? She lives in a tall palace, well eaten and dressed, and there are so many people waiting, how can the master say that she is here? Suffer?"
The old monk shook his head after hearing this, thinking that Xinyuan is still a child after all. He still doesn't understand such a problem. Thinking that Xizi is far away from his homeland, and staying with the emperor like a tiger in the deep palace of the country of Wu. Lonely alone. So he sighed and said: "I feel sad, what good is the food and clothing? You are still young, and there are many things you don't understand, but you have to remember the words of being a teacher, that is, no matter how much the environment a person faces Sinister, as long as his spirit does not fall, he will never fall; once his mental breakdown, no matter how strong his physique, his person will also collapse, this is faith. Xi Shi is due to his hometown elders The belief in infinite care is supported, so I persevered in the sinister environment of Wu Gong. Alas, my child, you don’t understand these things now, you will naturally understand when you grow up."
Xinyuan reluctantly answered "Yes", but in his heart he was thinking that Master always treats himself as a child, not to mention a problem, but he also engages in such a mysterious and mysterious way, as if the secret of heaven is impossible. It's leaking.
At this time, a voice outside the door called: "Master Shenmu, Master invites you to eat in front!"
The old monk replied: "Okay, old monk, go now!" After saying this, he flicked his sleeves and slowly got up. Xinyuan had already jumped up and opened the door at this time, standing aside and waiting. Master Shenmu said He said "Let's go", took Xinyuan, stepped out, and went to dinner with the novice monk in Tsing Yi.
It was late at this time, and it was half an hour before the sun set.
In the front hall of the Xizi Temple, a deacon monk lit a red candle, and the candlelight flickered, illuminating the courtyard like daylight. An old white-browed monk held a Buddhist bead and stood upright, looking at the mountain in front, and seeing Master Shenmu coming, he hurriedly greeted him outside the hall and stood still under the steps. Put your palms together, bow slightly, shouting the Buddha's horn, and said: "The master came to Bisi a long distance away. Please forgive me for any lack of hospitality."
It turned out that this old monk was the host here, nicknamed "White-browed Monk", he was extremely determined and brave, and everyone was afraid of him three points, so he was also called "White-browed Vulture" secretly.
When the white-browed monk bowed, Master Shenmu immediately felt an invisible energy hitting him, knowing that the opponent was testing his martial arts, so he worked hard to protect his body, and at the same time, he blasted forward and greeted the opponent. He used his internal strength to fight back in secret, but his face was calm, and he slowly said: "The master can give me a place for my master and apprentice. My master and apprentice are very grateful. How dare I complain again? Besides, I am a bodhi tree. The heart is a mirror, you and I become a monk and enlighten the Tao, the things of the world are like a cloud of smoke, so why are you talking about it? Doesn't the master seem to be out of sight when you say this?"
The white-browed god monk laughed and said: "The master is right. There is nothing in the world, where is the dust. It's just that my disposition is domineering and my nature is hard to change. Although I try my best to resolve it with my Buddha's compassion, I still inevitably offend many people. I often feel uneasy and ask the master to give me some advice to relieve my suffering."
Master Shenmu smiled slightly, thinking that he was trying to teach his own practice, so he made a long noise and said slowly: "Buddha saves people. There is good and evil. If you can change it, you can resolve it with compassion and Buddha. The great supernatural powers trap what they do, and do not cause harm to the world. The master is compassionate, and the Buddha is enlightened, and the evil is done, and the evil is to promote the good. With such goodwill, the secular people do not know what is going on, and it is reasonable. My generation A monk, a monk without a home, has already jumped out of the Three Realms. It is no good. Why should the master be obsessed with the prejudices of others and never forget it!"
Master Baimei squatted and said "Amitabha Buddha" and said: "Thank you for your enlightenment. The old monk has benefited a lot. I have ordered breakfast in the temple and the master has a meal. After the evening class, Lao Na will set up a bed in a contemptuous place, and then go with you. The master learns the Dharma and listens to high talks."
Master Shenmu leaned back and gave a bow, saying, "Don't dare, don't dare! Master, please!" So he took a seat.
Let’s say that the white-browed deity set up a couch in the abbot’s room to entertain the master Shenmu. The two held a long conversation, discussed the Dharma, and talked about each other.
After Xinyuan came out of the hall, the little disciple led by Baimei Yi Ran led them to sleep in the wing. Before dawn the next day, Yi Ran got up and went to the morning class with his brother, leaving Xinyuan alone in the room. Although Xinyuan also became a monk, he only followed the sacred tree as an ascetic monk, and didn't really save himself. Therefore, he was relieved of a lot of trouble, no need to recite sutras, no morning classes, and no need to care about the big precepts and small rules of the Buddhist school.
After Yi Ran left, he lay on the bed alone, looking at the roof, imagining where the next place he would travel with Master would be. Thinking about it, he fell asleep again in a daze.
I don't know how long it took, Xinyuan was awakened from his dream. He opened his eyes and saw Yi Ran beside him. He only heard him say hurriedly: "Heart far, get up quickly, your master is dead, and my master is dying..."
