In the past two years, Xia Ji has been sitting here, and the Sutra Collection Pavilion, which was once bustling with people, has become a cold palace.
There is not even a book of exercises here, but he has turned over and read almost all Buddhist scriptures.
The Buddha said: All dharmas have no self, and all living beings are suffering. Where does suffering come from? It is only because of attachment. Only by getting rid of attachment can we understand the nature of the mind and achieve Bodhi.
But he didn't listen to a word.
He turned over the "Prajna Heart Sutra", recited it for nine days and nine nights, and extracted the skill bead "Fudo Mingwang Shen (ninth level)". This skill bead was hidden in the Niwan Palace between his eyebrows. If he wanted it, just You can just extract it. If you don’t use it, you can keep it.
He turned over the "Diamond Sutra" again. The Diamond Sutra said, "All conditioned dharmas are like dreams and bubbles, like dew or lightning, and should be viewed as such." He didn't care about this, but he still recited it for nine days and nine nights, and extracted the skills. Pearl "Nine Yang Heart Sutra (ninth level)".
Afterwards, he recited the "Ksitigarbha Sutra" for nine days and nine nights, and extracted the skill bead "Eighteen Prison-Suppressing Strength (ninth level)".
Ksitigarbha once had great aspirations, and vowed not to become a Buddha until hell was empty. He did not have such great aspirations, and if he had, it would not be this.
Because he is not a Buddha.
He was just a prince whose mother died and was imprisoned in a palace with no one paying attention.
There is not much ambition, but there is a lot of obsession.
"The body is a Bodhi tree, and the mind is a mirror stand? Are you always brushing it diligently to prevent it from causing dust?"
Xia Ji shook his head and smiled, sitting in front of the window.
The deep winter sky in the northern imperial capital looks so much like the battlefield where thousands of troops and horses are charging into battle. The sky is filled with goose feathers, like broken limbs and arms, and the snow flows into rivers.
He has already read through the entire Scripture Collection Pavilion.
There are only three scriptures that can really extract magical skills. Most of the rest extract some things such as "Little Arhat Fist", "Fuhu Jin", "Iron Cloth Shirt", "Golden Bell Cover", and "Mantis Claw". , "Overlord Finger", "Iron Bull Power" and other martial arts skills. He didn't even look at these skill beads, but stuffed them directly into his soul.
Just keep it for the time being and use it for other purposes.
He had also read some martial arts novels before traveling through time, such as the Murong Family in Gusu, which was well versed in martial arts. Murong Fu could use different techniques every time he raised his hand, but so what
What's more, these skill beads have not disappeared. They exist in the soul and can be used at any time. They can be used with a single thought and will be effective after use.
Therefore, he only took three gates: Fudo Ming Wang Shen, Nine Yang Heart Sutra, and Eighteen Prison Suppressing Powers.
Now, he is waiting for the Tathagata Sutra, because Leiyin Temple is a large temple near the imperial capital of the Shang Dynasty, and he has discovered in the past two years that the older the book contains the supreme philosophy, the easier it is to extract it. Magical skills.
Leiyin Temple appeared at the beginning of the founding of the Great Shang Dynasty.
The "Now Tathagata Sutra" is the Mahayana sutra of Leiyin Temple.
He needs this scripture.
But can Xia Xiaosu get it for him
he does not know.
But he had no more options.
He just has a sister.
Just such a relative.
In the palace all over the city, the second, fourth, and eighth princesses he just mentioned were excellent, but together they could not compare to Xia Xiaosu by a hair.
Snow fell all night.
Early the next morning, when the snow stopped, the palace maid brought simple white porridge and some snacks to go with the meal.
Xia Ji thanked him gently, and after eating, he helped the palace maid put the empty bowl back into the lunch box. The palace maid hurriedly grabbed the empty bowl back. Although the prince was in a state of poverty, she was not someone she could offend.
But I don’t know why, the other princes have such a strong aura that they feel suffocated even if they get even a little closer.
The seventh prince was the only one who was approachable, but even though the palace maid felt so in her heart, she did not dare to talk to him offensively because of it. There were many rules in the palace, and no one forgot the rules and dignity, because whatever they forgot had already been forgotten. It's gone to the head.
The palace maid had only taken a few steps when she heard the seventh prince's calm voice reciting scriptures from the Sutra Pavilion:
"Subhuti! Those who have the mind of Anuttarasamyaksambodhi should know all dharmas in this way, see it in this way, believe in and understand it in this way, and they will not have the appearance of dharmas. Subhuti! The appearance of dharmas mentioned by the Tathagata is the appearance of dharma. This is the name. Dharma.”
The voice of the eminent monk who often sits in front of the ancient Buddha with green lanterns is calm and upright, which makes the palace maid feel much calmer.
It also made the eunuch who was sitting in a four-corner pavilion three hundred meters away nodded secretly.
Xia Ji studied Buddhist scriptures for two years.
The eunuch also secretly monitored him for two years.
The eunuch was a master. People in the palace called him Eunuch Mei. He was the chief steward of the emperor's personal servants.
In the evening, Xia Xiaosu hurried to the Buddhist Scripture Pavilion with the Buddhist scriptures wrapped in cloth. Before he got close to the attic, a fat-faced and smiling eunuch greeted him.
When Xia Xiaosu saw it was Eunuch Mei, she lowered her head and turned sideways to give way. Although she was a princess, she couldn't offend a popular father-in-law at all, so she thought of getting closer to say hello, and then turned around. And passed.
However, Eunuch Mei was obviously not ready to let her pass. He stopped halfway with a fly whisk in his hand, and said in a high-pitched voice: "The emperor asked the seventh prince to recite Buddhism and meditate on his past. The ninth princess must not bring some miscellaneous books with her. If the emperor finds out about the Qing Dynasty of the Seventh Prince, Long Yan will be furious."
Xia Xiaosu was so frightened that her eyes were wet. She said hurriedly: "Eunuch Mei, this is just the Tathagata Sutra from Leiyin Temple. My brother asked me to borrow it for a look."
Eunuch Mei's eyes moved, "This is really an eye-opener for our family. Is the Seventh Prince really devoted to praying to Buddha?"
Xia Xiaosu nodded repeatedly: "Brother is a kind man and has a compassionate heart. He has been chanting sutras for the past two years..."
"Show it to our family."
Xia Xiaosu had no choice but to hand over the cloth bag.
Eunuch Mei opened the cloth bag, and indeed there was an ancient scripture in the bag.
"Be careful, father-in-law. I borrowed it from the abbot of Leiyin Temple with great difficulty, and I have to return it in three days."
"Our family knows it, and we don't need the princess to remind us."
As Eunuch Mei spoke, he quickly looked up the scriptures. There was a strong Buddhist atmosphere in the Shang Dynasty, and Leiyin Temple was near the imperial capital. This eunuch's kung fu was not weak, and he could naturally tell whether it was a Kung Fu or not.
He read it from beginning to end and read it back and forth several times. After a while, he couldn't find anything wrong, so he handed back the scripture and the wrapping cloth, and said with a smile on his fat face: "Ninth Princess, hurry up." Come in, these brothers and sisters can see each other every day."
Xia Xiaosu didn't know what the eunuch meant, and didn't want to ask. She was relieved, hurriedly wrapped up the scriptures, walked through the corridor, and knocked on the attic door.
"Brother, it's me."
"come in."
Xia Ji put down the Diamond Sutra he was reciting.
"Brother, this is the "Now Tathagata Sutra" you want. The abbot of Leiyin Temple agreed to lend it to me for three days. My brother must return it to me after three days."
Xia Ji nodded. He didn't ask why Xia Xiaosu came. It was probably not an easy process. He just rubbed her soft hair and said gently: "Three days are enough."
