Leiyin Temple, inside the first level gate.
Zen Master Jiankong looked frightened and stared at the crack in the door.
In the second gate, everything including thatch, thatched cottage, firewood gate, monk's house, sutra pavilion, Zen courtyard and main hall has been destroyed.
Farther away, only the prince stood on the side of the Tathagata Buddha's roof, his black hair dancing wildly, but he stood still in the heavy snow.
He wanted to take the opportunity to escape.
But he didn't dare to escape.
As long as he escapes, he will die.
Now in this temple, apart from the senior brother on the ninth peak of Sumeru, he is the most senior monk in Leiyin Temple.
Seeing that many second- and third-generation disciples, and even senior brothers and sisters, all died at the hands of the prince, he didn't know how much anger he pretended to have in his heart, but if he wanted to step forward to take action, he would never dare to do it, or even just think of doing it. You will be frightened, unable to control yourself, and trembling endlessly.
When he saw the prince transforming into a Buddha, he broke through the demon-suppressing formation in an instant, causing more than four hundred Zen monks to lose their years and become old and beautiful.
I saw this prince performing the Scarlet Tathagata again, destroying the Arhat formation with a snap of his fingers, leaving three hundred and twenty-four monks distracted, their heads missing, and now they are all buried in the snow.
Goodbye, this prince can seamlessly switch between good and evil, manifesting the three dharma appearances of hell, sun, and king of Ming, and is not stained by the light of Buddha and the fire of karma.
This kind of strength and this kind of state of mind have far exceeded his imagination and level.
Therefore, although he was angry when he saw Kong, he was even more afraid. His heart was full of cowardice and the great terror of not being able to control his own life. For a moment, his mind was so excited that he actually remembered many things before he became a monk.
When he was a child, his family was very wealthy, and he had the fate to receive the teachings of a Yunshui monk and cultivate pure Buddhist Qi.
Later, his father saw that he liked to practice martial arts, so he spent a lot of money to hire a teacher for him to teach him sword skills. It was said that the teacher was an abandoned disciple of the Tiandao Sect. Although he was abandoned, his sword skills were amazing. .
However, when his teacher was kicked out, he swore an oath from his inner demons that he would never teach the Tiandaomen swordsmanship to outsiders in this life, so what the teacher taught him was not the Tiandaomen swordsmanship, but another swordsmanship. Use the sword technique, but this is enough.
After twelve years of practicing Qi and another ten years of practicing swordsmanship, his Qi and strength were sufficient, and he finally became a master.
After that, he became a green-shirted knight who respected justice and acted as a knight. He used a long sword to act chivalrously and righteously. Over time... he finally killed people he shouldn't have killed.
He remembered it clearly.
The reason was that the son of a powerful family in Lishan City was greedy for the beauty of women.
But the woman already had a husband, but unfortunately he was a commoner.
So the young man made some mistakes and planned to kill the woman's husband, and then grabbed the woman's son and threatened her. If the woman refused to serve him well, then her son would be sent to the border.
The reason is very simple. The child "accidentally" heard the truth about his father's death, so he went to take revenge. However, attacking a powerful person is a serious crime, so being arrested and imprisoned is really reasonable and legal.
The woman was filled with grief and anger, but she was helpless. In order for her son to survive, she could only endure the shame...
It's a pity that the woman didn't know that because her son was born with some strange powers, he actually hurt the face of the powerful young master, so he had his tongue cut off, his legs chopped off, and left in a dark prison to die. , in order to retaliate against the boy who hurt his face, the young man from a powerful family actually asked people to tell the boy what happened between him and his mother every day.
The boy screamed in grief and anger in the prison, then hit the wall and died.
And after three months of this, the powerful young man got tired of playing with the woman and told her the truth.
The woman beat the drum to redress her grievance, but the officials protected each other and colluded with each other. The mountains and rivers in the process were twisting and turning to block, push, delay, and confuse right and wrong. She was so skillful that the woman had no way to redress her grievance, so in despair, she hanged herself and died. die.
At that time, Jian Kong was still very hot-blooded. After hearing this, he was so angry that he lurked over to do justice for heaven and brutally killed the young master of the powerful family.
But this killing caused a huge disaster. After that, not only did his family die, but he also ended up running away in panic, until he once again met the monk Yunshui who taught him martial arts when he was young.
That monk Yunshui was the former abbot of Leiyin Temple. Because of the relationship between master and disciple, the abbot ordained him and then asked him if he knew what was wrong.
He said: "The fault is that we are not strong enough to kill all the injustice in this world."
The abbot made him kneel for three days, and then asked him: "Do you know what is wrong?"
He said: "If I kill all that powerful family without leaving any further trouble, naturally no one will know that it was me who did it, and they will not be hunted down here."
The abbot made him kneel for three more days, and then asked again: "Do you know where the mistake is?"
He didn't answer because he was about to faint.
The abbot asked someone to take him to have a fast meal, and gave him Buddhist scriptures, asking him to face the wall and think about his mistakes, and read them day and night.
A month later, the abbot asked him the same question again.
At that time, he said with some uncertainty: "Although he committed sins, I also committed sins. He killed living beings and I also killed living beings. I am no different from him.
When you commit an evil act, you plant an evil seed, and retribution will be endless. If you influence him with great compassion and teach him, you will plant a good thought. Only in this way can you lead him to repent and do good deeds for the rest of his life. Make atonement for sins. "
The abbot smiled and said: "The sea of suffering is boundless. When you turn around, you will reach the shore. What do you see?"
He still answered with some uncertainty: "Everything is empty."
The abbot laughed heartily, "From now on, your name will be Jian Kong."
His mind was at peace since then, and the abbot helped him settle the worldly matters, because if you leave the home, you will have no home, and if you put down the butcher's knife, you can become a Buddha immediately.
After that, the abbot passed away, the senior brother took over the Zen staff, and the previous generation of monks also passed away one after another.
In the blink of an eye, he has become the first generation disciple of Leiyin Temple. However, his cultivation has never improved, and his Buddhist Zen skills have stagnated. No matter how hard he breaks through or how hard he prays, he finally reaches the end.
The Buddha said that if you don't have a destiny, don't force it, so he didn't ask for it. He chanted sutras, practiced, and practiced martial arts every day. From then on, he became mediocre. In a flash, he reached forty-six and became the last among the first generation of disciples. However, there were many noble people in Leiyin Temple. Slowly, he no longer paid attention to martial arts.
Until this moment, when he looked at the prince on the top of the Buddha, the demon who killed people like mowing grass, his calm state of mind was actually shaking, and he couldn't control himself. Fear, trembling, and panic filled his heart.
But these emotions were completely absent when he was under twenty.
Even though he had killed the son of a powerful man, fled everywhere, was hunted down, and was in danger, he had never been so frightened and panicked like this...
Could it be that his state of mind is worse than that of his twenty-year-old self
I wasn't afraid of death at that time, but now I am afraid
So what do you practice after practicing Zen for so many years
What did you get
Seeing Kong, he couldn't help but be confused.
"Why...why?"
He was lying on the ground, unable to understand.
"What exactly is this for?"
He questioned himself again.
He couldn't find the answer, but no matter what the answer was, it didn't matter anymore, because everything was over, the last Tathagata Buddha statue was about to collapse, and Leiyin Temple would become history.
However…
He waited for a long time, but did not wait until the rumble of the last Buddha statue shattering came.
…
Xia Ji's palm was pressed against the cracked Tathagata statue.
The old spirit has disappeared and a new spirit is infusing.
The ninth level [Present Tathagata Zen] allows Xia Ji to have the appearance of the Tathagata, but this appearance is ultimately the appearance of others.
The second acquisition of the skill bead turned the skill bead into a deep golden color, and also allowed the Dharma to merge with his mind and turn into the light red Evil Heart Tathagata, which was his own spirit.
The improvement of Tathagata Zen has also improved the overall Buddhist Zen of the Three Generations.
The spiritual gifts on the three Buddha statues in Leiyin Temple allowed him to go one step further and leave a "spiritual imprint".
Nowadays, the originally gloomy Buddha statue has gradually regained its vitality.
The cracks slowly healed almost miraculously.
for a long time…
He has completed the entry of this imprint.
The Buddha statue was also re-erected. Although it was not gilded, it looked extremely extraordinary.
From now on, those who worship this Buddha are worshiping him. Sangha cannot rebel against the Buddha, and those who worship him cannot rebel against him.
Tired and peaceful, he jumped down from the Buddha's body, and the Buddha's hands were intertwined on his chest as if alive, supporting him.
"Come and hear what I have to say."
Calm voices spread around.
This voice contained great magic power, like the words of the Buddha, so that the remaining monks did not dare to disobey.
So, Jian Kong walked out of the darkness with a group of monks, trembling and trembling, not daring to take a breath, and sat quietly in the snow, looking at each other.
Calm chanting sounded:
"Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, walking in the deep Prajna Paramita for a long time, saw that the five aggregates are all empty, and survived all the hardships. Relic, color is not different from emptiness, emptiness is not different from color, color is emptiness, emptiness is color, and so are feelings, thoughts, and consciousness... "
The sutra is just an ordinary sutra, but it becomes extraordinary because it contains Xia Ji's evil intention.
The demonic intention complemented the Buddha statue and was instilled into the minds of all the monks present, shaking their state of mind and subverting what they had learned.
Normally, these monks would not be easily swayed by this demonic intention, but at this time, facing the horror of death, their defenses had long been broken, and they were taken advantage of by the demonic chanting.
After reading one scripture, Xia Ji began to recite the second one.
…
…
Time flies.
Not long after, the chanting was finished, the snow had slowed down, and the sky became gloomy.
The prince is resting on the Buddha's hand, his expression is calm, gentle and peaceful, his pupils are half open and half closed.
But the monks who listened to his teachings only felt a splitting headache.
Some couldn't bear it and went crazy,
A small number of people still cling to the memorial altar and maintain their original Zen mind.
However, there are others who have almost completed their spiritual transformation on this night, and Jian Kong is one of them.
Jiankong looked at the prince who looked like a sleeping Buddha, and suddenly his heart beat faster. He listened to the Dharma all night. At first, there were many obstacles and he was distracted. All kinds of thoughts in his mind were like two armies clashing, fighting one after another, but soon the thoughts in his heart suddenly changed. After understanding the method recited by the prince, he felt more and more comfortable in his heart, as if he no longer had obsessions and confusion.
However, there was still one last barrier blocking him, making it difficult for him to breathe as if he were drowning whenever he thought about it.
He took a step forward, knelt down and kowtowed: "Respect my Buddha, please tell me why... Everything is in vain?"
His words are also a common doubt among many "awakened" monks.
These monks are looking forward to answers.
"wrong."
A faint voice came back.
Jian Kong looked confused.
The voice taught again:
"Everything is allowed."
The four words came out slowly,
Just change one word,
But it became the sound of rolling thunder,
Like a wake-up call,
Like an enlightenment,
These four words suddenly turned into a violent beast, and the raging waves rushed into Jian Kong's mind. All spirit, all consciousness, all the past, shattered his last layer of obstacles.
He suddenly understood why he was afraid and why he had been unable to make any progress for decades.
Just because what he was originally reciting was not his sutra, what he was prostrating to was not his Buddha, and his mind was blocked, how could he make progress again? ? !
He bowed deeply and kowtowed. During the kowtow, many thoughts flowed through him.
Looking up again, he is no longer the person he used to be.
He had a new life.
A flash of red light flashed between Jian Kong's pupils...
Then, he stood up, used his strength, and suddenly took action towards the monks beside him. Those monks were still frowning and had not yet been enlightened or understood the meaning of this new Buddha.
Since they cannot usher in new life, then they will usher in destruction. Since the Buddha is here, why does the Buddha need to take action
Immediately afterwards…
Under the Buddha statue, there was another fight. On one side were the monks from Leiyin Temple who believed in Xia Ji, and on the other side were the monks who maintained their original intentions and were still afraid.
However, the spirits of the two sides were completely different. The former quickly completed the killing of the latter, and then walked around to see if there were any fish that had slipped through the net.
Xia Ji didn't pay attention to these killings. In fact, after he said those four words, he fell asleep from exhaustion.
Nowadays, he is just trying hard to maintain a sleeping posture like a Buddha. If he can, he would like to lie comfortably in a large position, and then sleep until he wakes up naturally, or is woken up by a chirping sister. That is not impossible.
The winter snow was brilliant, and it was a good time to enjoy plum blossoms, cook wine and listen to music. It would be even better to spend a lot of money to reward a favorite actress and take her back to the warm bed, but these really had nothing to do with him.
He is the demon Buddha here, sleeping in the snow.
