Long Live The Emperor!

Chapter 436: I and you are at ease

Views:

The autumn rain at night, carrying the desolation, knocks quietly on the eaves,

And it slid down with the tilt of the ridge of the ancient house,

Drop by drop, they shattered on the stone steps in front of the water-proof door, blooming into desolate white flowers.

The originally silent room suddenly heard the sound of chanting scriptures.

That voice obviously did not use any power, but it contained an indescribable magic power that could make people feel at ease and calm.

A simple sentence, read by others and read by the voice, will have completely different results.

Others read the words...

That voice read meaning...

Others are parrots and read whatever they see.

The sound was like a divine hand waving away the clouds all over the sky, just like the clear moon hanging in the sky, making people unable to extricate themselves from it.

In the house, the two wolf demons had already closed their eyes. Following the guidance of the voice, they felt as if they were being led to the Pure Land, and their hearts were at peace... Many places that had not yet been awakened were actually loosened.

outside the house…

There was someone else outside the back fence.

The dim light outlines the silhouette of an ascetic.

The ascetic monk saluted his right hand in front of him, holding a Zen staff in his left hand. He was wearing straw sandals, but there were heavy shackles between his legs, which prevented him from taking too big a step.

He wears a bamboo hat on his head,

At this time, the rainwater was falling down along the bamboo hat. Some of it fell directly on the wet mud with some dry grass roots, and some of it fell on the mottled twelve tin rings of the Zen staff that drooped from all four directions.

In this world, any monk who can use a Zen staff has power or reputation that is recognized by the world to some extent.

But these are precisely the things that a true monk does not need.

A true monk seeks nothing but enlightenment.

Strength is just something you can take along the way and rely on it, so that you can go further and see more.

If it is necessary to give up one's strength to achieve enlightenment, then I am afraid that every true monk will agree without hesitation.

This ascetic is like a bronze statue on a rainy night, standing quietly outside the fence, as motionless as a mountain.

He met the two wolf monsters on the road, and he followed them all the way for fear that the monsters would harm others.

But now that the wolf demon has entered the mortal house and has exposed its fangs, the ascetic should have taken action...

This was the purpose of his coming here.

However, the ascetic monk did not move.

Because, he... is listening to the scriptures.

The sutra is not long. It took about one stick of incense to finish reciting it.

The two wolf demons raised their heads and found that the boy, who was obviously just an ordinary person, was still sitting in the darkness, like a bright sun, extremely bright.

Do not know why…

At this time, the two demons' moods had undergone great changes, and the evil thoughts they had when they came had already caused the two demons to suffer in their hearts.

They knelt on the ground with their heads bowed, and their transformed black hair fell from their temples, swaying with the trembling and torment in their hearts at this time.

In the darkness, there were loud gasping sounds. The two demons were addicted to the flames of their sins. The illusion of hell and the boundless sea of suffering appeared in front of their eyes. They were unable to extricate themselves and free themselves, and their hearts were shaken.

They never thought that such a situation would occur just by listening to a scripture.

clatter…

clatter…

clatter…

Light footsteps sounded, and their heartbeats also beat with the footsteps.

Then, the two demons felt a big hand covering their heads.

His big hands gently stroked their hair.

A voice like enlightenment came from the darkness above:

“Do good deeds.”

These four words were like life-saving straws falling in front of the eyes of the two demons, and they were able to break free from the burning sins.

As the big hand covered their heads, the two demons felt inexplicably at ease.

The flames of sin and the illusion of hell are slowly disappearing, and the shaking mind is slowly calming down.

But during this violent shock, they felt as if their souls had been washed, and when they opened their eyes, they felt much calmer.

The two wolf demons who turned into women did not know that they had met a powerful person. Although the powerful person looked like an ordinary human being, there was no doubt that this kind of supernatural being was a powerful person.

So, the two demons hurriedly kowtowed, saluted, and then slowly and respectfully retreated.

Peace returned to the house.

Xia Ji sat in Qiu Yu's house, quietly waiting for Miaomiao's return.

Not long after, he heard the sound of footsteps again, as well as the crisp sound of the slight collision of shackles, and the collision of metal rings.

The steps were neither hasty nor slow, and he quickly arrived in front of the door.

After a moment of silence, there was a knock on the door.

"A monk is passing by here and wants to go inside to take shelter from the rain."

When Xia Ji heard the voice, he felt a clear understanding in his heart: "Sure enough, this is true."

Amitabha must have encountered a wolf demon in his previous life, but at that time Amitabha had not yet grown up, and it was impossible for him to deal with the wolf demon with his own abilities...

The monk who knocked on the door at this time explained this problem.

This was probably a strong Buddhist man who saw the wolf demon on the road and followed him out of fear of causing trouble.

And later, he did not know whether "Amitabha was favored by the abbot of a large temple" had anything to do with this ascetic.

However, Xia Ji heard the ascetic's words but did not answer.

Because he understood that this ascetic came here not to take shelter from the rain, but because he had just listened to him reciting scriptures and wanted to see him to see if there was an opportunity for enlightenment.

If you need shelter from the rain, you can enter the house.

This is how I seek the truth, but it doesn’t work.

Therefore, he did not answer, but sat quietly in front of the bench, concentrating as if he had completely forgotten the person outside the door.

The ascetic monk only asked once, but instead of asking a second time, he took three steps back and stood in the autumn rain, letting the autumn rain wash his body.

An hour later.

The young man's calm voice finally came from the ordinary thatched hut.

"You have been standing in the rain, what do you really want?"

The ascetic monk was stunned for a moment, but he said frankly: "As a monk, I have been seeking enlightenment and want to go inside to take shelter from the rain."

The young man's voice floated out from the house: "All the gods have worked hard for the supreme enlightenment, and they may have achieved nothing throughout their lives. If you just seek this great method with ordinary determination, I think it may be in vain."

The ascetic monk smiled slightly, and suddenly with a sudden movement of strength, his right hand was cut off in half and fell into the rain.

His expression showed no pain, as if the body was not his.

Then, he bent down and picked up the broken arm, and said softly: "A monk, I have broken off one of my arms."

Then a voice came from the house: "Excuse me."

The ascetic monk stood in the rain in the dark night, remained silent for a moment, and said word by word: "My heart can never be at peace. Please give me peace of mind."

A voice floated out from the house: "Take out your heart and let me place it for you."

The sound itself contains infinite tranquility.

It seems that everything between heaven and earth has settled down.

There is no hustle and bustle anymore, only the dialogue between the people inside the door and the people outside the door.

If it were a normal conversation, it would be impossible for this ascetic monk to care...

But at this time, the seemingly simple and strange conversation between the two contained infinite Zen opportunities.

Therefore, the ascetic monk showed a look of pain and said: "I have been in the world of mortals for twenty years, working tirelessly to seek only my heart...but I can't find it when I ask for it, and I can't find it when I look for it."

When he finished speaking, he showed a look of expectation...

Because he had just listened to a sutra, he knew that the person in this room was an expert who was well versed in Buddhism.

The opportunity is like this, it's all a matter of one drink and one peck.

He followed this fate and opportunity and asked this question.

a long time…

Six words slowly came from the room:

"I and you are safe."

The ascetic monk was stunned. In an instant, these six words were like thunder from the nine heavens, hitting the shackles in his heart heavily.

The clouds dispersed and the haze cleared.

What I couldn't get in twenty years of mortal life, I finally realized in one day.

There is nothing better than a wake-up call and an enlightenment.

a long time…

The ascetic knelt down on his knees, put his Zen staff and broken arm aside, and kowtowed devoutly: "Thank you very much."
