Lord of The Mysterious Realms

Chapter 154: letter

Views:

Along with the newspaper, there were some letters in Jenkins' mailbox. One is a reply letter from Miss Mary, a pen pal in a distant land of ice and snow. She sent a big package this time, and the others are bills and letters from readers forwarded by the publishing house.

With the publication of Stranger's Tales throughout the kingdom, fairy tales became the talk of intellectuals, or gentlemen and ladies who thought they were intellectuals. Perhaps this world without Internet or TV is too boring. Operas, concerts or horse racing cannot fully satisfy the spiritual needs of the petty aristocrats and petty bourgeoisie who have nothing to do. Reading is a good choice for pastime in this era.

Judging from the "Nolan Daily" report on the matter, the name Jenkins Williams has been very popular in recent weeks, and he may be about to make a fortune.

"I don't know when I will be able to live without worrying about gold pounds."

He sighed expectantly, but when he thought of those expensive ritual materials and more expensive ABC items, he felt that life was full of pressure.

"It's better to be a cat."

"Meow?"

Chocolate looked at Jenkins inexplicably, then carefully rubbed his furry face against the back of his hand.

There were not many valuable news in the newspaper, and Jenkins put it down after reading it for a while. Hesitating between the reader's letter and Miss Mary's package, he opened the reader's letter first.

The number of letters this time was significantly more than last time. The postman responsible for delivering the letters found that the capacity of the mailbox was not enough, so he put some letters directly in the yard through the gap in the fence. He also kindly put a layer of expired newspapers to prevent the letters from getting dirty, which can be said to be very responsible.

As can be seen from the mailing address and the colorful stamps, the letters came from all over the country. In fact, most of them are simply letters to Jenkins to express their love for this book. These words of praise are disgusting for him to read, so he won't repeat them.

There were two letters asking Jenkins to rewrite the "Mermaid" chapter of the story collection. They didn't like such a sad ending, and even if the mermaid didn't end up living with the prince, they didn't want her to die.

Jenkins understands what readers think, but doesn't change the ending. He will seriously write back to the two, explaining his views on the tragedy.

As for the letter like last time, there are not a few letters with inexplicable rhetorical techniques and metaphors. Perhaps it was some novel literary device, perhaps some metaphor Jenkins didn't understand. But he really couldn't understand why those girls with elegant handwriting would groan/groan and write meaningless long poems.

Although Jenkins has published a book in this era, his literary ability (outside) has not yet reached the level of fully understanding the meaning of this long poem. Those enthusiastic readers should want to express some warm emotions, but unfortunately, Jenkins can't see it for the time being.

"Maybe I can ask Miss Hesha to take a look at it for me."

With this in mind, he put away the hastily opened letters, planning to read them slowly when he had time.

Picking up the package on the chair, patting Chocolate's eager paws away made it quieter. The package itself was wrapped layer by layer with waterproof kraft paper, and the outermost part was tied with red cloth strips to fix it.

Jenkins cut the strip of cloth with scissors and realized it was silk.

"How rich is Miss Mary?"

Guessing in surprise, he uncovered layers of kraft paper, and inside were two brand new books, which smelled like ink, and a letter.

Instead of opening the letter first, he flipped through the books, one of which was called "Probability and Mathematical Statistics" and the other was "A Brief Introduction to Advanced Mathematics"

The first author of the first book is "Anonymous", and the second author is Peter Pan Warren, presumably Miss Mary's tutor, Mr. Warren. After flipping through a few pages, it really is the knowledge written in the last reply. But it's clear that Mr. Warren sorted them out and filled in the details appropriately.

"Mr. Warren is also very knowledgeable in probability."

He sighed softly, and then turned to the preface, the first paragraph reads like this:

[The first author of this book provides most of the knowledge structure for this book, filling the gaps in contemporary probability research. But because that humble gentleman did not want to reveal his name to the public, the editor replaced it with "Anonymous". Thank you again, Mr. J. W. Your contribution to probability will be remembered in every researcher heart.]

He shook his head with a smile, and then turned the page back, where it described other people who contributed to this book except for the two authors who were ranked first and second. There are many names here, and the contributions to the corresponding chapters are written separately, so Jenkins can't find out who Miss Mary is.

The two authors on the cover of "A Brief Introduction to Advanced Mathematics" Jenkins did not know each other, but the picture on the cover was the curved trapezoid in the Cartesian coordinate system that he drew in order to derive the integral method.

It is specially marked on the title page, thanks to Mr. J.W for his great contribution to this book.

After flipping through for a while, Jenkins guessed that the writing of this book should have taken a long time. It may be that Miss Mary’s tutor, Mr. Warren, handed Jenkins’ letter to the editors, which enriched the content of the book, so it is special. Thanks to Jenkins for this important position on the title page.

An inexplicable sense of relief welled up in my heart, and I gently stroked the "J·W" on the page with my fingers, and the corners of my mouth turned up, showing a smile. This can be regarded as the small imprint left by coming to this world. Even after a hundred years, some people will remember Mr. "J·W".

The forehead was faintly hot, and Jenkins subconsciously wanted to touch it, but he felt icy air gushing out from there, and the gushing spirit soon spread all over his body.

"This is a gift from a sage?"

He guessed carefully, feeling that he was already very close to the truth. Could it be said that the blessing obtained when becoming the Son of God is to be able to obtain the spirit through the dissemination of cultural knowledge

He thought about it, and discarded the idea of continuing to copy knowledge. Since the essence of the spirit is to be close to the world, it is better to be natural, and there will be no sense of success if it is done deliberately.

In a world where idealism exists, it is better to have some idealism.

After opening the letter next to it, it was still the fragrant snow paper, and it was still the elegant text in the flowery style. If seeing words is like seeing people, then Jenkins thinks that Miss Mary may be the most beautiful one he knows.
