Chapter 235: Greed (39)

This is another thing beyond my control. I couldn't control anything from the beginning. How can I make myself think otherwise

It's time to make a change.

In a dim alley on my right, an action caught my eye. I grabbed the useless, soaked jacket, and hurried past the ominous opening, hoping to avoid any unnecessary attention. No wandering is allowed in this city at night. Especially girls like me. Even humans are smart enough to stay indoors and outside the desolate roads of cities, especially when the dark sky pours endless rain.

"Hey." A voice hit me from behind, and I craned my neck and looked at it without stopping. The stranger wore a black rain jacket and a hood that completely covered his face. great. "Hey, ma'am, do I know you? I know, don't I?"

"No. I don't think so," I shouted, speeding up, crossing the street, and stepping into a dirty city river by the side of the road. When the cold sex fell on my skin and soaked my socks and shoes, I gasped. If I can find a place that is dry enough, I have to find a way to dry them. Every door and every staircase I passed was locked tightly all night. If I encounter any viable shelter, it will be a blessing. As it stands now, I will wither and die of pneumonia before something good happens.

"Wait! Of course I know you! Wait a minute, ma'am!" the man shouted to my back, his voice closer than before.

My heart was beating wildly in panic. Can I risk a conflict with someone? I was so cold that I was breathless. Fighting in this situation is not a good thing.

His footsteps slowly approached. Through the raindrops and my pounding heart, I can still hear his voice.

shot!

"I'm sorry, I'm really anxious—" When the words left my lips, he grabbed my jacket and pulled it vigorously, and my body slammed back.

Bottom of the form

"I'm talking to you! Don't you know that ignoring others is impolite?" Through the heavy rain hitting my face, I tried my best to stare upward, and there was a haughty giggle in the man's throat. I was lying on my stomach when he dragged me to the ground. idiot!

"What's the problem with you?" I yelled at him, jumped to my feet, and pulled out a weapon tied to my belt: two short Jǐng sticks. They are not my favorite weapons, but before they threw me out, they were the only weapons I could get.

The man was two heads taller than me, and smiled triumphantly while showing off his shiny grill to me. He was just here to make trouble, nothing more.

I sprained my neck, ready to struggle. At least I can warm up in this cold rain.

"Bought some nice sticks for myself, I understand." He patted one of my arm hard, and patted the back of my hand hard. It stung me, I took a step back and sniffed the air of the wet mud.

"You shouldn't do that." I shook forward, waving my arm to form a complete arc, and slammed his temple with my Jǐng stick. The satisfying crack and his subsequent trip felt incredible. I haven't argued with others for several weeks, but a street fight can definitely improve my skills.

Before he recovered, I kicked him in the thigh with the heel of my boots, and the muscles there would loosen up, and the giant fell to the ground. I kicked him in the face with an error of one millisecond, and then lay on the ground with him. He grabbed my ankle and pulled me up from the ground.

My breath hits the concrete from my lungs. The stars were scattered in my sight, and the smell of rancid garbage scattered in the alleys, old leftovers, and other miscellaneous things filled my nostrils. Staring at the dark and cloudy night sky, I want to call the wolf forward. I hate moving to hitting a human being, this person is just a mortal, but he is almost over 00 pounds plus a few feet on me. Even though he has a clumsy, oversized body, he is still faster than I thought. He just grabbed my leg and beat me. If things are not good for me, I have no choice.

"Damn it," I murmured. When the downpour hit my face, I closed my mouth and eyes. I coughed, squirted, and blinked trying to focus on the person attacking me.

His eyes became dim in the dim night, narrowed into a slit, followed by an evil smile.

"Yes. Get down on the slut. Just like I like my woman."

I suddenly lifted one leg, put my knees against his balls, lifted his body, and now squatted on me, a huge pile, pressing me down.

When I was struggling to breathe under his weight, he let out a rumbling complaint that shook my chest. This behemoth won't roll off me anytime soon, because the pain and subsequent collapse made him even more angry. If I did not get out of this dangerous wedge, I would not just be out of breath.

I hit him in the face continuously with my fist.

"let me go!"

"You bitch! You will pay for it!" His pungent breath filled my nostrils and added to my discomfort.

too frightening!

There was a loud cracking sound beside my face, and then the bastard relaxed. Very good. A strange hail must have hit him on the right head or something. Now it is impossible for me to push him off me before fainting due to lack of oxygen.

Asphyxiated to death. What a great way.

I want to know what the people who found us would say. At dawn, two died in the alley, one from hail and one from suffocation. I can see this title now: The former princess suffocated to death, buried under the assailant killed by the giant storm. We will miss her. Hmm... I don't think so.

"Spare me!" I yelled as loudly as I could, but every time I was short of breath, my chest seemed to burn with thousands of tiny stings. I slammed the guy, pushing and squeezing, but it was useless.

In the next second, a blast of cold air surrounded me, and the man's weight fell to one side. Another man in a drenched hooded jacket was now standing next to the corpse who wanted to be a strong criminal. I took the opportunity to crawl away, and leaned against a nearby building wall to catch my breath. My Jǐng sticks are in the wreckage in the alley, but I can't even concentrate on looking for them. Walking in the park is almost suffocating.

"Are you okay?" The new guy didn't approach me, but waited to see how I would react. He is so nice. He was probably waiting for me to catch my breath and ask me for something nasty. As if that would happen. I would rather die than let any man do anything to me, and I promise he will pay a high price for it.

"I'm fine." I reluctantly said a few words in a low voice, and another violent cough stopped my efforts.

"You don't look very good. The royal family shouldn't wander around the city without people, especially when it's raining heavily."

I laughed at his rough voice, made a mistake, and looked away from the guy because I had been trying to breathe in without pain. When I looked back, I found nothing. I quickly glanced at the alley, but the culprit who broke into my poverty was gone.

"Who are you?" I shouted into the storm, my chest slowly recovering from the attack. Before I could finish speaking, a thunder swallowed up my thin voice. Nevertheless, in order to avoid the biting rain, I squeezed my eyelids tighter and continued to search for the stranger.

A figure fell from the sky and landed quietly in a nearby puddle, and a puff of air rushed towards me. He curled up, straightened slowly, and looked at me from under his hooded jacket. This man is not much taller than me, but with his broad shoulders and fat body, he can easily put me down.

Unless I change my position. Then he has a beast to deal with.

In an accelerating flash, the stranger shortened the distance between us until our noses were millimeters apart.

I gasped.

"The princess does not belong to a place lost in the rain...in the dark."

"I'm not... a member of the royal family. Not anymore." I took a deep breath, feeling a sadness that contrasted with the warm ripples he stirred in my heart. Under the dim street light, his face was almost invisible. The alluring angle I could recognize made me see a pair of deep blue eyes, gleaming infinite abyss under the faint light. His irises emit a monotonous light from within, creating their own weird halo. I held my breath, stunned.

"I don't know what you are talking about, princess. You are the king, you will be the king for life."

He pulled the hat back to show me his face. He lowered his head and stared at the ground, expressing obedience and politeness. His dark black hair was cut very short, near the scalp on both sides, and the hair on the top of his head was longer. Raindrops gleamed on his pale olive face, falling on the short stubble on the sides of his chin and cheeks.

I relaxed and realized that he was a Jǐng guard, but he didn't seem to want to attack me. As far as I know, he may be a group of Mark Till, but his posture is a submissive Royal Guard posture. I shouldn't be treated with such kindness. I have nothing now. Obviously, he didn't know that I was exiled.

"Have you not heard of it?"

His appearance caused confusion. "I'm sorry, ma'am. I don't understand what you mean. I am Jǐngwei from the periphery. I rarely enter the square of the Marktill Palace."

Top of form

So he is Mark Till. His eyes slid to my face. If he understands what I mean now, he won't say it. Maybe he wants me to speak out. He is like an excellent royal watchdog. Don't question what the royal family did. At least he had not received an order to destroy the exiled Princess Bow Knight. Really relieved. (To be continued) (End of this chapter)
