Chapter 247: Accident (12)

He paused, I swallowed and listened hard, trying to find out who heard our conversation. After a while, he turned the key again. The lock made a loud click and the door opened towards us.

"No one will use that much, right?" I asked.

He shook his head. "No. Actually, I think I have the only key. It's weird, but when I was a kid I liked to hang out in these halls. I forgot all about it until you reminded me. I suspect that Eton College has not even bothered ever since. Go check them out."

"It's a shame, this may be an interesting exploration."

"Yeah. When this is over, our race is the best friend again, and I will show you around. It is huge."

"Sounds like a date."

He smiled, revealing the dimples on his right cheek that made my heart beat. The darkness covers my flushing face, I have never felt so relieved. He has a very xìng sense, and a taste is not enough for me.

We continued through the doorway and entered a mezzanine space. I can see the supporting beam behind the wall of the inner room. There are tiny spots of light everywhere in this area. I walked forward and put my face on a hole like this, and found that we were inside the wall of a huge apartment. The apartment was full of silk pillows, long silk cushions and all kinds of extravagant facilities. I immediately felt jealous, because if this is what Elise is enjoying, then I have been wrong about every part of our friendship over the years.

I hate her for betraying me. I confided to her like everyone else. No one knows me like she does. Every major event in my life, every dirty detail, every crush, every tragedy, every secret... She knows it all. When she betrayed me, she took away the little trust that I had left. It will take a long time for others to come in like that.

"Is it this?" I asked, my question resounding in the silence of the room. Ephraim nodded and motioned to him. He was standing in front of a carved rectangular area with the back of a painting hanging on the wall. I bet this is the way in.

He pushed the painting, making a slight whirr, followed by several inaudible clicks. I hope there is no one in the room, because when the picture starts to move to the side, it is clear that we are there.

I held my breath and guarded the entrance in case we were suddenly ambushed. When nothing happened, we all walked in and accepted the perfect environment. Everem turned around and replaced the painting. At least we have an escape route. I really hope we don't need it. If the amulet is here, things are too easy.

"Well, look around. Where would she put her valuables?" Everem started checking the drawers in the living area, and I walked towards the bedroom next door. Inside is an oversized bed with gorgeous satin quilts and piles of pillows. Even the dressing table on one side is unusually large, with jewels, brushes and hairpins all over it. I have a disgusting feeling that she has been there for a long time since she stole my amulet. She has always been an undercover, but I don't know at all. I swear that this will never happen again, and if I contact her, her death will not come so soon.

I checked her jewelry cabinet carefully and found a false bottom in one of the drawers. I moved the plank away in surprise and scooped out a sack from it. I can feel the tingling in my fingers because I put it in the palm of my hand. That's it. I knew it. I broke the rope and poured my amulet and the other two into my hands.

It's worth digging!

"I got it!" I rushed back to the living room and found Averim raised his arms and pointed a gun at his chest. When I was in the bedroom, Elise had already walked into the room. I stared at my old friend fiercely.

"I should have known you would steal it back. Stupid, really. I never thought you could get this far. This place is a fortress. How did you get in?" When Elise took the gun from Egypt When Fren moved to my side and back again, she frowned, not knowing which one to go first. I can see that she wants to do this. Her eyes burned with anger, and now I understand her wrongness. What a good actor. Definitely will win. I'm so stupid to believe that she is my best friend.

"Elise, put the gun down. We are friends, remember? I was banished and never told them your name. No one is looking for you. I swear."

I hope to attract her kind side, but I am worried that I will lose the battle. One of us had to subdue her, and I am afraid that one of us will be caught in the process.

Her gun flickered in the bright light above her head. The smell of silver oozes from its metal shell. There will be blood, she longs, longs. Death will follow. None of us can go far with a silver bullet.

I glanced at Efron and found that he showed pure calmness under pressure, which relieved me. Some things have to be given up, but I don't know what to give up.

"Elise...please. Put the gun down. You are my friend. Don't you remember? We do everything together. Our tea parties are all the rage in the palace. We will wear them. The best petticoats, headdresses, jewelry, these are things that most little girls never dream of. You did it with me. We are partners in crime. Remember? Remember."

Elise's evil smirk disappeared in confusion. There were tears in her eyes, and her thoughts made her go back in time. I want her to remember that this can't be all acting. This is true to some extent, right? No one alive can pretend that intimacy for so long. I had to play with those tiny threads of hope, I pulled her, hoping to pull her back to the life we used to live together. She must know that this is true. She must do this.

"I stole your amulet and there is no turning back. I have already taken three of them, and I will take another one tonight. These four things are mine, and I use them whenever I want." She looked like After brushing off the past cobwebs, her cunning side once again took control of everything.

"Elise, please don't do this. If you do this, I will die. You are my friend. For a long time, you are my only friend. You know. Now also. Don't do this. I don't I will send you away, I promise."

"What do you mean by stealing another amulet tonight?" Everem interrupted her. I wanted to choke him to death and shut him up, but he made sense. If she intends to steal another amulet, who is her target

When we all realized what had happened, I saw Avelim's eyes. Tonight, Yitan will hold a royal ceremony to officiate at the wedding of Elise and give her his amulet. She has no amulet in exchange - she is not of royal blood - so this amulet is tailor-made for her. Together with the other three cars she stole, she has everything she needs. Then, when she uses our superpowers, she will kill Eaton and me, and become the ruler of the Marktier clan. Then she can break through the fortress. With the unnatural power that the amulet gave her, it would be a one-sided battle.

I must stop her, she will never marry Etan. This is a disaster for both wolves.

"Do you think I would be stupid enough to tell you?" Elise sneered. "I will get everything I want tonight, and you will not hinder me. Before you can call reinforcements, I will hang you on the gallows and burn you to death. That's how it is. Now give the amulet to my old friend . I promise, I will let your sister and her lover die as fast and as painful as you."

She took a step forward, her gun still aimed at Ephron—a greater threat of course—but she was walking towards me. She is a little too confident. Before she took the next step, I had decided who would bear all this.

I put the amulet around my neck and added it to my amulet to summon their power. Each of them made a slight vibration, which surprised me. When these four amulets connected their energy through my flesh and blood, I gasped.

The moment they got in touch, I started running towards Elise, flying in the air while shifting gears. It took her half a second to realize that I had put on the amulet, her face was confused. When my bones deformed and slid into place, soft hairs bloomed on my skin. My clothes tore, fell off, and before my feet hit the ground, I became a wolf. I ran straight into Elise and bit her forearm with my dog.

Her scream pierced my ears, but I used a ferocious grasp as she tried to get rid of me.

"Let go of me!" Her scream returned from outside the door and went all the way into the hall.

Elise's eyes widened in surprise, and her gun had flown to the floor and under the sofa. She snarled while transforming, trying to shake me off with her transformation. Her arm loosened my jaw, but when she became a wolf, my mouth was stuck in her throat.

When I shook her body back and forth, my roar could hardly hear her wailing. Blood splattered the door and stained the walls red. She scratched my legs helplessly and never gave up easily.

Just when she began to succumb and became weak, when the gunfire rang out, the whole world was like an atomic bomb exploding, and it felt like an out of control train hit me.

I hardly heard gunshots. I can feel it, but it's not me who is hurt. It was a strange, out of touch feeling, and Lily fell to the ground shortly after. I was stunned, and the pain made me breathless. After a while, Lily's body changed back to a human shape, her body was still lying weirdly, a large pool of blood pouring from her chest. (To be continued) (End of this chapter)
