Chapter 85: Crystal Lake (1)

Archibald cried and wailed for a while, but I just tuned it out. I really don't care about his poor crying, I just use him to increase my own harvest. He doesn't have to like me because of it, but I hope he can at least shut his mouth.

I dragged Archibald's weak body along the street for a while, and I began to suspect that he was enjoying the process. His free trip gave those passing by us a few glances, but thanks to the huge tent in the distance, many of them quickly left to enjoy the show.

We finally returned to the edge of the crystal lake where Macky was waiting patiently. Mary is nowhere to be found.

"Where is she?" I asked the bloated rabbit.

""how could I know? She left shortly after you and has never returned since. "

"Hey." Archibald whispered. "What the hell is that?"

"I don't want to say it again," I said bluntly, and threw him to the ground in pain. ""Um. She said she should be back now. I want to know if something happened?"

"Of course something happened! As I said before, that woman is crazy! I bet she has become an enemy in the town!"

"Please, are you a bit exaggerated? We have only been here for a few hours."

"How many hours?!" Archibald stammered. "We must leave! Now!"

"One last time, I would not go without Mary. I need her just like I need you. Now if you are not obedient, I will tie you up and give it to you as a chew toy." I threatened. Point to Mackey, and strongly hope to take action to eliminate my threat.

Archibald fell silent at that moment and sat there curiously, looking at Mackey curiously. He still looked a little flustered, not just because the too big toy was lying lazily. I walked up and down on the road, but did not see any signs of missing doctors. I don't have the time and patience to wait for her to show up, but I can't help it. She is an indispensable part of this irritating puzzle. In addition, she has my eyes, and I really want to go back.

I began to consider whether I should abandon her. Archibald became more and more anxious within a second. She knew where we were going, but I heard some voices in the distance, but it was not a good thing. I took a look and wanted to see what happened. I found out the reason for the movement, which made my eyes wide open, with awe.

Mary stood at the door, looking like she might collapse at any time, completely exhausted and out of breath. There was a big bag around her shoulders, which contained various plants, and what looked like ordinary clay bottles. Behind her screaming angrily was a large group of unhappy people, waving farm tools and kitchen utensils in the air above their heads.

"Look! I told you she was just a trouble!" Archibald stood up and screamed loudly.

I think he is right, although I must know that this result is inevitable, because she said she wants to make money.

Mary quickly noticed us, her tired face was full of relief, but her troubles were far from over. The crowd increased rapidly, and with her exhausted movements, she could hardly lift herself directly.

Suddenly, Mary fell to the ground, and a large fork protruded from her leg. When they rushed forward, surrounded the poor girl and raised various weapons, the crowd cried happily. When a cloud of white dust was thrown into the air, I quickly ran over to provide her with some help. The dust covered everyone in us.

I finally approached the creeping crowd, and noticed that those covered in white dust had stopped moving in the middle of the action.

"Is it raining? Archie? Rabbit? Is anyone there?" Mary's quiet voice came from somewhere in the crowd.

"Yes, I am here." I yelled, causing many people to turn around and shrink from fear. "Can you move?"

"I can't seem to take the pitchfork out of my lap. But I can still climb, I think."

"Well, come here, I'll find you."

"Hey!" someone shouted in the crowd. "Are you with her?"

""Yes. So what?" I asked, staring at the disturbed man preemptively.

"Oh, uh, nothing." The man stammered when he flinched. The best means of intimidation.

I squeezed through the crowd and finally found Mary lying in a slightly provocative position. It is a good thing that these people are frozen, otherwise they might have jumped on her for a completely different reason. I guess she can't help it, she has a tuning fork in her lap.

"Come on, I'll pull it out." I told her. "Cheer up."

I pulled it out as quickly as possible, but she hardly responded. It wasn't a frown or a moan, not even her tired, half-closed eyes didn't hurt at all. In fact, when the arrow was stuck in her back, she did not cry. Does she just feel no pain

"I think you are really immortal" I muttered to myself as I picked her up and walked in the crowd.

"Immortal? Did Archie tell you?"

"he made it."

"I do come from that area, but the immortal is just a myth. From an external point of view, this seems to be the case."

"what do you-"

"Hey! He wants to take her away!" Someone suddenly exploded. "Stop him! Stop him!"

"Do you have any other tricks?" I asked the girl in my arms.

"I usually run away in this situation, but I might have something here... Ah! Block your ears!"

I didn't have time to ask why, because she had already thrown the glass bottle into her hand. The moment it hit my foot, a harsh sonic boom blasted the air to pieces. Everyone nearby had to put down what they were holding because they were covering their ears with their hands in pain, including me. I don't know if Mary cried when she fell on the ground. I couldn't hear anything about the strong buzzing in my ears, which actually caused some other people to kneel or pass out completely.

I felt something shaking my leg, forcing me to look down.

"Huh?" I shouted loudly, barely hearing my own voice.

Mary said "hurry up" and "let's go", or at least I think this is what she wants to say. I picked her up again and swayed through the other people. No one had the power to pay attention to our own pain.

Uh, this kind of loss is worse than when I only had one eye! I never realized how much I depend on sound before! Needless to say, I will not take this for granted in the short term.

Somehow, I took us back to where the others were waiting, I put Mary down, and then started covering her ears with my hands. This is ridiculous! The loud ringtone has not diminished at all! When will these effects disappear

Archibald's mouth is moving, but I can only see that he is asking "Where is it?"

"Where is what?" I shouted, and the startled thief jumped up. He just glanced at me, then turned to Mary.

I think Mary said something to him because he immediately turned to Mackey and started asking for something from him. Mackey looked at him angrily for a while, then spit out something on the ground. Then Archibald picked up Mary's straw doll. I saw that the fragments on the legs were a little loose, but Archibald quickly solved the problem with his thumb massage. Once, when he threw the doll back to Mackey Island, Mary suddenly jumped up and waved her injured leg as if she was testing a new limb.

I want to know if she meant it before, about the immortal body. It's not my business anyway, I just want to fix my ears.

Mary turned to me and said, "Let's go", completely ignoring what she did to me. I hope she has not forgotten that I am now deaf. Let it be like this, because this place is not safe now! I beg you!

I am almost afraid of what will happen in the future. First, my sense of touch was neutralized, then my eyes were stolen and destroyed, and now I can't hear anything! What's the next step? I can't smell anything, nor can I smell it

Knicks! I asked-no! I beg you! I beg you! Please don't let them play with me again!

"However, the garden of the sinner?" Archibald sighed a hundred times. "I'm not even sure if I can break in. I know I am the greatest thief in this land, but that place should be indestructible!"

"Yeah, you better think of a way." I told the arrogant bastard. "I think that if I fail, I cannot be held responsible for my actions."

Archibald shivered unhappily because he was attacked by my brutal atmosphere. He finally began to understand how insignificant his life was to me, and it was no problem for me to put my threats into action. It's about time!

We haven't had Crystal Lake for a week. I still don't know how she did it, but in fact Mary is indeed the enemy of the entire town. At first, the crowd was crazy for her head, but once the performance in the tent ended, all the audience soon discovered the truth of the matter and joined the lynching group. They chased us on the plain for two days until they were exhausted and unable to move on, which gave us a sigh of relief.

The only time I was in this situation was during the war. As a mercenary, I have been hired many times to participate in some small battles, but not all of them have won. We lost time and we were forced to flee. Although I don't want to admit it, I need to be paid. Facing a thousand enemy soldiers is not the best choice. I can bear one hundred, maybe two, but not one thousand. Anyway, running away is nothing new to me, but I have never done this before, so this is a different experience.
