Chapter 11: A small ending

Views:

After listening to Agent Carter's words, Xia Zhiye figured out the whole context of the matter.

To put it simply, the enemy launched a surprise attack, and then the United States immediately formulated a counterattack plan and pulled a team over to directly raid the enemy's base camp.

However, perhaps because the team was brought together at short notice, they were not adequately prepared.

So the counterattack plan failed, and finally a second plan was formulated... which was a decapitation operation!

Once the decapitation operation is successful, it will cause chaos in the enemy's camp. The first wave of teams can take advantage of this chaos to directly destroy the enemy's base camp, leaving the enemy's sneak attacking army isolated, and then they can do whatever they want to them.

To take a step back, even if the decapitation operation was not successful, as long as the enemy commander was stabbed, it would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the first wave of teams.

As for why the decapitation team did not select people from the first wave of teams, Xia Ye was not clear about it.

There are so many possibilities.

Wars are fought by people, and every step is planned by people.

However, human beings are the most complex creatures in the world. Various comprehensive conditions, including selfish motives and justice, may influence the issuance of an order.

However, after thinking about it, Xia Zhiye still asked a question: "Since we have 'our people' here, why don't the ambush team use this passage and rush in directly, but instead go to great lengths to plan a decapitation operation?"

"First of all, the road we took to get here would be easily discovered by the enemy if there were too many people."

Agent Carter explained: "Secondly, by the time they thought of this, they had already been discovered."

"… hehe."

What else can we say on a summer night except laughing

Is it because we were too hasty? Or is it because there is something wrong with my brain

But these things don’t matter to Xia Zhiye anymore, the result is good anyway.

The rest of the things have nothing to do with Xia Ye.

After gathering with 'our people' and waiting for a while without any news from the private and the sergeant, Agent Carter decided to retreat.

Xia Zhiye didn't mean to wait for his "comrades" for the first time. If they didn't come, it didn't necessarily mean something had happened. After all, the first wave of troops had already attacked, and the enemy's main attention should be on them. The two guys were in a state of taking advantage of the situation, so the danger level had been greatly reduced.

Secondly, even if something unexpected really happened, there would be no point in waiting here. This was also the reason why Agent Carter decided to retreat immediately, and Xia Zhiye naturally had no reason to refuse.

Before leaving, 'our man' also showed up, and after speaking a few words to Agent Carter, he saluted and walked into the camp.

Xia Zhiye didn't know what he was going to do, and he was in no position to speak.

Quietly watching the other person's back as he left, there was the rumbling of artillery fire in the camp, and Xia Zhiye inexplicably felt like laughing.

This morning, he was still a stay-at-home guy sitting at home drinking Coke, watching movies and playing games.

He is an ordinary person who can roll from the left side of the bed to the right side, and even if he rolls to the ground, he can continue to sleep with his butt sticking up.

And now...

What did he go through in this afternoon and half a night

"Life... is so fucking unreal."

Xia Zhiye muttered quietly.

“Follow me!”

Agent Carter, who was not far away, spoke up, and Xia Zhiye quickly followed. He could leave his feelings for later. What he wanted most now was to find a place to have a good sleep.

I opened my eyes and saw that the light was dim. I looked out the window with my hands on my forehead and found that the sun was almost setting.

Xia Ye smacked his lips and felt his stomach was empty.

He and Agent Carter returned to the camp at around 4 a.m., and went straight to the headquarters. However, Xia Zhiye fell asleep while sitting there, and was then arranged to sleep here.

Now it seems that I probably slept all day.

I stood up and stretched, feeling full of strength all over my body. I was so energetic that I couldn't help but imitate the characters in the movie and punched a few times.

The door was opened just in time, and Agent Carter came in with two cans of food. Seeing how active he was, he couldn't help but laugh and asked, "Chinese Kung Fu?"

Xia Zhiye blushed with embarrassment.

It has been so many years since I graduated from junior high school, but I didn't expect that my childish nature would occasionally relapse and I would embarrass myself in front of the foreigners.

"You've been sleeping all day, it's time to eat something."

Agent Carter saw Xia Zhiye's embarrassment and smiled even more. He walked over and put the can in Xia Zhiye's hand and said, "We can't let the hero go hungry, right?"

"hero?"

Xia Zhiye rubbed his nose, feeling that such a title had nothing to do with him.

"Of course he's a hero."

Agent Carter nodded: "You played a crucial role in the operation last night. You killed the butcher commander with your own hands and saved many of our comrades!"

Xia Zhiye remained silent, thinking that when he killed him last night, he had no idea what this guy was doing.

What a mistake, what a mistake!

I didn’t have time to think last night. I was too tired.

Looking back now, there were too many coincidences last night!

Who could have imagined that the enemy commander was hiding in an ordinary tent without any protection

Xia Zhiye's action of going to the armory on a summer night was extremely risky, and the bold idea that suddenly came to his mind was even more crazy.

In fact, if the leading officer of the other side had not suddenly asked Xia Zhiye to convey his orders, it would not have been so easy for Xia Zhiye to leave.

The attack of the first wave of ambushing troops, the fire set by the sergeant and the soldiers... all of these combined together were the main reasons for the successful completion of the mission and the smooth retreat last night.

If it weren't for so many coincidences, Xia Zhiye felt that he, the so-called hero, could have given himself a song called "Liang Liang".

"Remember what I told you before?"

Agent Carter suddenly spoke up.

"About what?"

Xia Zhiye asked tentatively: "It can't be about love, right?"

"If you like, I can discuss some issues about love with you later. But now, I would like to discuss the issue of the 'Super Soldier Project' with you."

Agent Carter said helplessly: "But now it seems that you have completely forgotten about this matter." (To be continued)
